Terrorists attack, bomb LG offices in Kogi just days before election

Four days before the February general election, some unnamed gunmen attacked and destroyed the administrative buildings of the Kogi State’s Okehi Local Government Area.

According to information obtained, the incident happened on Monday night when the attackers burst into the area carrying explosives.

William Ovye Aya, the public relations officer for the Kogi State Police, confirmed the incident when contacted.

He claimed that the command had launched an investigation to determine what led to the attack.

Recall that in January, a car bomb explosion in the Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State claimed the lives of about four people and injured many more. The explosion was claimed by the Boko Haram faction supported by the Islamic State, the Islamic State West Africa Province, or ISWAP.
