Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has said that she will take over a relationship if she makes more money than her partner.
The songstress was quoted to have made the comment while talking about relationships and financial responsibilities on an episode of the Wahala podcast on Tuesday.
Ayra Starr noted that she would treat her partner differently if she were richer than him.
The Rhythm and Blues crooner said she would have more influence in the relationship as she is in a stronger financial position.
The singer added that she would still expect the man to take financial responsibility in the relationship even if she was making more money than him.
The fact that a woman has more money in her position should not totally eliminate the role of the man as a provider.
She also revealed that she would not like her partner to know the exact amount she is having if she is richer than him.
“If I date a man who I am richer than I will have control over him. “But even if I am richer, he will still provide, and I will not let him know I have a lot of money,” she said in the interview.
