Former Senate President Bukola Saraki claims that all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidates from the north are ready for a non-acrimonious consensus candidate at the party’s primaries.
Only one of the three presidential candidates, according to Saraki, would be able to lead Nigeria in 2023.
Saraki provided the assurance in Bauchi on Sunday, when he and Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who is also a PDP presidential candidate, paid a consultative visit to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.

Saraki, who spoke to the media on behalf of the three presidential candidates, said it was vital for them to meet, brainstorm, and figure out how to best work things out among themselves as party stakeholders.
“In doing so, we met and discussed that, for the year 2023 ahead of us, the country’s unity and stability, as well as its growth, are more essential than individual desires,” he stated.
“We also met to discuss the need for us to collaborate.” We feel that because the three of us are working together in harmony, commitment, and with a lot of enthusiasm, this country will have a bright future.
“We recognize that the three of us have expressed a desire to lead this country, but we also recognize that we are all capable, competent, and qualified to do so.”
“At the end of the day, only one person will lead this country in 2023; and we also determined that we will work closely together to guarantee that we come up with a means for the three of us to reach a consensus on how to proceed in managing this country.”
He went on to state that they also believed their responsibility was to make it easier for them to achieve stability in the party, claiming that if the PDP is stable, Nigeria will be stable as well.

However, the former governor of Kwara advised all PDP supporters to remain focused and unified in order to help the party reach new heights.
Saraki added that the three of them would also meet with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, to brief him on the discussions they had in Bauchi.
