The opposition parties’ claim that N5 billion was spent by the government to reserve every hotel in Imo State for the upcoming governorship election in the state has been categorically refuted by Governor Hope Uzodinman’s administration as a sheer fabrication.
The government was reportedly unaware of any such arrangement, according to Declan Emelumba, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, who made this claim while interacting with reporters in Owerri.

He made clear that social media has never been used by the administration to communicate with interested parties.

“There are no known hotel bookings of this kind,” he declared. Through social media, the government has not and will not communicate with stakeholders.

All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Uzodimma will win the election in a free and fair race, despite claims that thugs from neighboring states are being sent in to rig the results, according to Emelumba.

The opposition is planning to bring in a large number of thugs to the state in advance of the elections, he added, and the administration is aware of this. He emphasized that the issue is being discussed with the appropriate security agencies so that appropriate action may be taken.

So, he urged the people of Imo to set aside the theatrics of the opposition and concentrate on giving the governor a second term, which he deserves, so that he can carry on with his excellent work.

As he put it, “The opposition is aware that they have already lost.” They are creating all kinds of falsehoods, including the propaganda from this hotel, in order to divert attention from the government.
