President Bola Ahmed Tinubu leaves Abuja today for Europe for a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was reported.
The statement said that the president will first stop in London, United Kingdom.
President Tinubu is also expected to come home after the working vacation to join the hectic campaign for the January 2027 election.
This is coming barely a week after Vise President, Kashim Shettima, resumed official duties two days to the expiration of his two weeks vacation.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, had said the break was the first for Shettima since he was sworn-in as Vise President on May 29, 2023.
He had said that the Vise President utilized the time for study, reflection and intellectual renewal in preparation for his continued service to the country.
Nkwocha said the leave period gave Shettima an opportunity to assess ongoing government programs and expand his understanding of emerging policy issues at the national and international levels.
