Two escorts of an oil vessel reportedly died after being shot by alleged militants affiliated with the Biafra Nations League, or BNL, in waters close to Cameroonia.
Eyewitness reports indicate that the incident took place at around 4 am in the Cameroonian-controlled Idabato subdivision of the Bakassi Peninsula.
The militants, according to witnesses, also attacked a vessel that was stationary and whose origin was unknown.

According to a different source, “they tried to light the vessel on fire.”
Prior to Cameroonian forces showing up, he claimed, the militants fled.
BnL’s leader, Princewill Richards, issued a statement in which he ordered an end to oil-drilling vessels in the Gulf of Guinea’s eastern end.
He warned that the oil vessels are endangering their lives.
