President Bola Tinubu has felicitated with the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi, on his birthday, July 25, describing him as one of the best ministers in his government.
This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President, Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja on Saturday.
Prior to his appointment as Minister of Works, Umahi was a Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District and was the Governor of Ebonyi State for two consecutive terms from May 2015 to May 2023.
His administration was widely acknowledged for delivering transformational infrastructure across the state, the presidency said.
President Tinubu commended the minister for his unwavering commitment to building sustainable road infrastructure, describing him as a dedicated public servant whose passion, diligence and patriotism continually drive progress in the country’s road sector.

The president also urged Engineer Umahi to keep up the momentum in the construction and rehabilitation of roads, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s commitment to improve infrastructure, enhance economic growth, and raise the standard of living of Nigerians.
“Minister Umahi is one of my most hardworking and outstanding ministers,” said the President. He is very much interested in his work, and has kept his eye on the ball of making good roads and bridges that will stand the test of time.
“Instead of relying on reports, he is always on project sites across the country, inspecting construction works to ensure strict compliance with approved standards and specifications.
President Tinubu felicitated the minister’s family, friends and associates on the occasion and prayed for his continued good health, strength and wisdom as he continues to serve the nation.
