Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor popularly known as Mama G has said she believes that God has given her a special gift to portray witches, wicked mothers-in-law and other villains convincingly in movies.

She said this while speaking on her long-standing career playing such roles in Nollywood productions during a livestreamed interview with content creator Carter Efe.

Ozokwor said as a person she is not in support of evil or injustice but commits 100 per cent to any negative role given her to deliver it convincingly and pass moral lessons to viewers.

“I think God put me in that niche. I hate all sickness, Because I hate injustice, War and rancor. “When you give me those roles, I try to bring everything to them,” she said.

She says her negative characters are meant to make people question the effects of their actions and see the importance of doing right.

“If you are taking part in any of them, you have to be careful and know the end thereof, because the end justifies the means.

“Know what’s going to happen to you if you live a terrible life. And know what you’ll get if you’re a good person,” she said.

The Enugu-state-born actress has featured in several Nollywood blockbusters and is widely acclaimed for her strong and often villainous characters, with an acting career spanning decades.

Among other accolades, Ozokwor received Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in 2012 and 2013.

In 2014, Ozokwor was among the top 100 Nigerians honored by the government to celebrate the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates and earned the Merit Award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards.
