APC reacts to Jonathan’s 2027 campaign posters seen across Kano

0

After Team New Nigeria (TNN), an alleged offshoot group, bombarded Kano with campaign posters of former President Goodluck Jonathan, the APC has distanced itself from the group.

The ruling party maintained that the group was not affiliated with it and that no one in the APC knew of its existence.

Five days after the TNN declared that its supporters were departing the ruling party to start a new political party, the reply was made.

Modibbo Farakwai, the group’s national president, stated that they were aiming to reach at least 26 million voters nationwide. Speculations regarding Jonathan’s potential comeback to active politics were sparked on Thursday when posters portraying him standing for office in 2027 inundated Kano streets.

Nze Chidi Duru, the APC’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, responded by saying that the TNN was never affiliated with the APC because they printed and promoted Jonathan’s campaign posters even though they knew he was not a card-carrying member.

“I’m not going to make any assumptions. The APC is unaware of this group, which I view as amorphous. It would have been obvious to them that former President Goodluck Jonathan was not an APC member if they were true members of the party, Duru said.

Tinubu govt introduces special train services for Christmas, New Year

0

Through the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), the Bola Tinubu-led government has announced plans to run special train services for the forthcoming Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.

According to the Federal Government’s directive through the Ministry of Transportation, the services would operate on scheduled passenger trains, as announced by Yakub Mahmood, NRC’s Deputy Director of Public Relations, via the company’s official X account on Thursday.

The special rail services will reduce travel congestion over the holidays, according to the NRC.

The company promised passengers that further information would be provided soon, even though precise dates and times for the services have not yet been disclosed.

According to the statement, “the government’s gesture towards an enjoyable end-of-year celebration is this end-of-year special train service on scheduled passenger trains.”

In advance of the new year, the NRC wished passengers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The idea for this year builds on a similar initiative in 2023, when the federal government provided free train transportation over the holidays and lowered interstate fares by 50%.

These actions, which took effect from December 21, 2023, to January 7, 2024, were largely hailed as a prompt solution to Nigerians’ economic problems.

It is anticipated that the NRC’s special holiday services for 2024 would continue to be successful, offering Nigerians economical and effective travel options over the holiday season.

Insecurity: Lawmakers demand fewer checkpoints on major Southeast highway

House of Representatives lawmakers have demanded that the Onitsha-Enugu expressway’s checkpoint count be lowered.

Following the passage of a resolution on the motion sponsored by Amobi Ogah, who represents the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia state, the lawmakers made the call on Thursday, December 5.

In his motion, Ogah called on security forces throughout Nigeria to investigate claims of extortion and harassment on this specific highway.

He claimed that even though it is only 105 kilometers from Onitsha to Enugu, drivers and tourists are routinely the targets of “unnecessary harassment” by security personnel on the route.

Additionally, he pointed out that there are roughly 28 checkpoints along the aforementioned road, and the agents’ sole goal is to harass and extort drivers.

According to him, the installation of so many checkpoints along the highway directly insults the dignity of the populace, particularly in the South-East, and violates Nigerian citizens’ constitutional rights to free movement as guaranteed by Section 41 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) Constitution.

“The House is concerned that citizens are frequently coerced into paying bribes at these security checkpoints, which are seen as harassment tools.” This has a detrimental effect on socioeconomic life by raising transportation expenses, creating delays, and deterring economic activity.

These roadblocks are unnecessary, according to Ogah, who bemoaned Nigeria’s handling of security concerns nationwide.

Lagos State politician James Faleke criticized the bill’s title in response to Ogah’s submission. He stated that the Southeast faces a number of security issues and that the House ought to focus more on ways to lessen the extortion and harassment that security personnel cause.

In response, the House directed the Defense, Army, and Police Affairs committee to consult with the Inspector General of Police and the Service Chiefs in order to investigate alternate security measures that do not inflict hardship on individuals or infringe upon their fundamental rights.

In order to guarantee that the quantity of checkpoints on the roadways is controlled, it also demanded communication with the Federal Road Safety Corps Corps Marshal.

Okuama community mourns as president-General dies in military custody

After the passing of its President-General, Pa James Oghoroko, Delta State’s Okuama Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area has fallen into grief.
According to information obtained, Oghoroko, one of the leaders detained by the Nigerian military since August 2024, has away as a result of torture and suspected cruel treatment while in military custody.

Between August 18 and 20, the late Oghoroko was detained along with Professor Arthur Ekpekpo, Chief Belvis Adogbo, Dennis Okugbaye, Pa Anthony Ahwemuria, and Mrs. Rita Akata. Since then, he has been held in custody.
At a community emergency meeting, Okuama leaders broke the news of Oghoroko’s passing, according to Vanguard.

Pa Dennis Okugbaye, another leader in military custody, is fighting for his life in the unidentified military institution, the Community also disclosed.

Lead Counsel Olorogun Albert Akpomudje SAN responded to the news of Oghoroko’s passing by calling it heartbreaking and stating that he will speak with the family to determine what should be done next.

After 17 soldiers were killed and the Okuama hamlet was demolished, the community, represented by attorneys Olorogun Albert Akpomudje (SAN) and others, went to the Federal High Court in Warri to demand compensation.

Suit Nos. FHC/WR/CS/41/2024, FHC/WR/CS/42/2024, and FHC/WR/CS/42/2024 were brought by the community via their knowledgeable counsel; these actions have since been merged.

In its most recent session on November 20, 2024, the Federal High Court postponed hearing the jailed leaders’ bail application until December 9, 2024.

LP Criticizes Tochukwu, Mathew, Akiba, Esosa, fom for joining APC

Some members of the Labour Party (LP) defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives, which the LP has called shameful.
According to reports, during Thursday’s plenary, Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas read the defection letters of Bassey Akiba of Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Cross River; Donatus Mathew of Kaura Federal Constituency, Kaduna; and Tochukwu Okere of Owerri Federal Constituency, Imo.

Other people that switched from the Labour Party to the APC include Iyawe Esosa, Oredo Federal Constituency, Edo and Daulyop Fom, and Barkin Ladi/Riyom Constituency Plateau.
Additionally, Senator Francis Ezenwa Onyewuchi, who represented Imo State’s Imo East Senatorial District, switched from the LP to the APC.

Obiorah Ifo, the national publicity secretary for the Julius Abure-led administration, denounced the MPs’ action in a statement on Thursday.

He criticized the parliamentarians for electing them despite the sacrifices made by Nigerians in the 2023 election.

Ifo said that the parliamentarians’ actions were unreasonable, unworkable, and against democratic standards.

It stated: “The news of several Labour Party lawmakers defecting to the ruling APC today has been received with dissatisfaction by the party’s leadership in the National Assembly. Tochukwu Okere (Imo), Donatus Mathew (Kaduna), Bassey Akiba (Cross River), Iyawe Esosa (Edo), and Daulyop Fom (Plateau) are among the members of the Representatives. Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read their letter of defection to the APC on the floor of the Green Chamber.

“We find the defection to be very regrettable, and we denounce the behavior, which is unreasonable, unsustainable, contradictory, and incompatible with all accepted standards that democracy upholds.”When a lawmaker sponsored by a political party decides to defect, the 1999 constitution’s Section 68(g) makes it clear what occurs. According to the Constitution, if an individual who was elected to the House by a political party joins another party before the time frame for which the House was elected has passed,

As long as his affiliation with the latter political party isn’t the consequence of a split within the party he was formerly a part of or a combination of two or more political parties or factions, one of which may have previously sponsored him;

The Labour Party has been quite active in politics since its founding in 2002, having previously produced a governor and a number of other elected officials from other fields. However, under the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure, it accomplished its greatest accomplishment in the general election of 2023, winning a seat as governor, eight Senate seats, thirty-five House of Representatives seats, and multiple state House of Assembly seats. Additionally, the party caused a significant upset in the presidential election, which many Nigerians still thought was won by the Labour Party.

“As was to be expected, the election’s successes created certain internal pressure points that have since been resolved through judicial and internal peace mechanisms. The Labour Party has subsequently moved on after resolving all of its issues, whereas several other major parties are currently adrift in their own political storm. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the Labour Party is at peace. As a result, no one elected on the Labour Party ticket has the constitutional right to leave the party and the party’s mandate.

For emphasis, it should be noted that the party’s leadership in 2022, in accordance with the party’s manifesto, opened the party to all Nigerians who wanted to join the leadership cadre but were unable to do so due to the monetization practices of some of the octopus parties that were then in power. Instead of limiting power to the wealthy and urbane elite, the Labour Party believed it was prudent to spread power to the grassroots level in order to benefit the target populace. The Labour Party sent free nomination forms and membership cards to as many people as possible who couldn’t afford the absurdly cheap fees.

CREDICORP, NADDC unveil N20bn credit Fund for Locally-Assembled Automobiles

0

Nigerians can now buy locally made cars thanks to the launch of the first phase of a consumer credit fund by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) and the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).

The CREDICORP said in a statement that the program began with the signing of contracts with major local automakers, such as Innoson, Nord, CIG (GAC), PAN, Mikano, Jets, NEV (electric), and DAG.

According to the Corporation, the targeted project boosts Nigeria’s automotive industry while enabling credit-worthy Nigerians to purchase new cars, tricycles, and motorcycles.
Executing the S.C.A.L.E. project

According to CREDICORP, the car credit program is a component of its recently established S.C.A.L.E. project, which aims to give one million Nigerian consumers credit to buy locally produced goods and services.

According to the statement, “CREDICORP’s Project S.C.A.L.E. (Securing Consumer Access for Local Enterprises) has five thematic areas, including the automotive industry, which directs the Corporation’s credit-backed consumers to buy products and services from regional manufacturers and vendors.”

According to the Corporation, the S.C.A.L.E. project is concentrating on regional producers across many industries, such as:

Home Improvement (Furniture, Appliances, construction Materials): This allows households to improve their quality of life by providing significant consumer credit for appliances, construction materials, and furniture that are produced locally.
Compressed natural gas (CNG) and electric vehicles (cars, motorcycles, keke, and bicycles) are made more accessible through mobility (cars, buses, keke, and bicycles), particularly CNG and electric. This would promote growth and value addition in Nigeria’s automotive industry and make transportation more affordable and environmentally friendly.
Electronics (Digital equipment): Promotes digital inclusion and involvement in the digital economy by giving customers reasonably priced access to necessary digital equipment, such as computers, tablets, and smartphones.
Energy Solutions (Generators, Solar, etc.): Addresses Nigeria’s energy difficulties by providing low-cost, environmentally friendly energy solutions, such solar panels and effective generators, to homes and small businesses.
General Merchandise (Apparel & Textiles, Healthcare, Food & Beverage): Promotes growth in those industries while improving access to necessary healthcare supplies, high-quality clothing, and nourishment.

A similar program, the Credit Access for Light and Mobility (CALM) Fund, was introduced by CREDICORP in October with the goal of giving Nigerians consumer credit to enable them to obtain solar household systems and CNG conversions through partner financial institutions.

The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG), and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MoFI) partnered to develop the CALM Fund.
In the meantime, CREDICORP previously declared that 151 financial institutions, including microfinance banks, fintechs, and commercial banks, had joined its consumer lending program.
Nonetheless, the Corporation has only revealed five financial institutions that are part in the program thus far. These consist of Abbey Mortgage Bank, Accion Micro Finance Bank, Wema Bank, LETSHEGO Micro Finance Bank, and Credit Direct.
As part of moves to perfect the consumer scheme, CREDICORP also recently announced a partnership with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to fast-track the building of credit scores for all Nigerians with the National Identification Number

Timi Frank issues 48-hour deadline to FG for Farotimi’s release

0

Comrade Timi Frank, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), threatened to stage large-scale protests if the Federal and Ekiti State Governments did not free human rights attorney Dr. Dele Farotimi from confinement within 48 hours on Thursday.

In response to Farotimi’s remand, Frank issued a statement urging Nigerians to take over all police stations and establishments in the nation if the government does not unconstitutionally free the rights activist within the allotted period starting from his remand.

Farotimi was ordered to be remanded to the state’s correctional facility on Wednesday by the Ado Ekiti Division of the Ekiti State Chief Magistrates Court.

After writing a book titled “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System,” in which he claimed, among other things, that Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, had compromised the Supreme Court, Farotimi was charged with defamation of character.

But according to Frank, the claimed defamation alibi is not the only reason for Farotimi’s arrest and incarceration.

He claimed that the remand was an attempt by the Federal Government to harass and threaten Farotimi for frequently criticizing the anti-people policies of the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

In addition to denouncing the police and the judiciary for becoming the tyrannical arm of the current government, he also denounced the arrest and remand of Farotimi.

He feels that because Farotimi is a man who upholds and believes in the rule of law, he doesn’t deserve his current struggles.

“Farotimi is an advocate for democracy, a man of principle, and a man of truth.” Instead of the way he was detained and then placed under remand for an alleged offense that is subject to bail under Nigerian law, they should have invited him in a civil manner and he should have accepted if they thought he had done anything improper.

This demonstrates unequivocally that they are not providing Farotimi with this extremely demeaning experience as a result of Afe Babalola’s petition. Given that Farotimi is a well-known outspoken opponent of the administration, there is more to the arrest.

“It is Farotimi today, it may be another Nigerian tomorrow.” Frank, the ambassador of the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) to East Africa and the Middle East, urged Nigerians to join the fight to free Farotimi from remand and to prevent the government from using state institutions to repress and silence Nigerians who speak out against their oppressive and hardship-inducing policies.

“They came for the socialists first, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist,” he cited German pastor Martin Niemöller as saying. Since I was not a trade unionist, I remained silent when they came for the trade unionists. Since I was not a Jew, I remained silent when they came for the Jews.
Then they came for me, and nobody was left to defend me.

FG partners with NIYEEDEP to generate jobs for 12 Million youths

0

By giving twelve million young farmers and food entrepreneurs jobs, the Federal Government will work with the Nigerian Youth Economic Engagement and De-Radicalization Programme (NIYEEDEP) to combat youth unemployment, poverty, and the associated effects on restlessness, radicalization, and insecurity.

This was revealed at a news conference by Comrade Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development, who hosted NIYEEDEP at his Abuja office under the direction of Coordinator Kennedy Iyere.

The initiative’s goal, according to Comrade Olawande, is to give Nigerian youth the economic platform and empowerment opportunities they need to start their own businesses and become change agents and catalysts for the development of their country, its economy, its wealth, poverty alleviation, crime reduction, and social transformation.

Youth Farmers’ Cooperative Scheme, Food4All campaign, Arts4Money Project, Tech4Jobs Scheme, Waste2Wealth Project, Youths4Wealth Scheme, Youths4Charity Outreach, Youths4Peace Initiative, and Skills2Job Initiative are among the strategic economic engagement sectors that will be the focus of the campaign.
He clarified that the goal of the effort is to engage young people in agri-food entrepreneurship, integrate value-chain investment, and establish and oversee national grassroots business clusters and cooperatives.

“With a goal of creating at least 6 million jobs, the partnership will help spark a revolution in wealth creation in key economic sectors like technology, entertainment, renewable energy, digital commerce, innovation, and creativity, among others.”

The NIYEEDEP coordinator, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, thanked the Minister for his unwavering support of programs that facilitate economic growth.

He emphasized the initiative’s potential to boost economic growth, generate employment opportunities, and advance community advancement generally, and he gave the Minister his word that he would carry it out successfully.

Port Harcourt Refinery: Blending Key to meeting product standards, Says Mele Kyari

0

The blending procedure purportedly connected to the Old Port Harcourt Refinery has been directly supported by Mr. Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), who claims that it is essential to bring petroleum products up to national standards.

Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., made this revelation in a statement on Wednesday.

NNPC Ltd. also denied allegations to the contrary, stating that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery is operational and loading operations are underway.
This confirmation and explanation were provided by Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mele Kyari during the commissioning of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) Towers in Lagos on Wednesday.

Blending is not a crime.
“Blending is not a crime, as it is an integral part of the refining process,” Kyari said.

He emphasized that mixing is required to ensure that the product is safe for automobiles and to satisfy national regulations.

“You will produce off-spec items that will harm your cars if you don’t blend. Because what is on specification in the United States of America might not be in Nigeria or other places, every refinery blends. In order to meet the requirements of various nations or areas, items must be blended,” he continued.

Kyari took advantage of the opportunity to invite Mr. Femi Falana, a lawyer and human rights activist, “and all those in doubt,” to accompany NNPC Ltd. on a tour of the refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna in order to confirm their status.
He said that the President’s executive order interventions in the oil and gas sector are paying off, attracting more foreign investment and creating more job opportunities in the sector.
In addition, Kyari complimented NUPENG on the successful completion of its Towers and stated that the union should keep putting communication and collaboration first in its dealings with the Federal Government and NNPC Ltd.

Things you should be aware of
NNPCL defended the Old Port Harcourt Refinery’s outputs last Tuesday, arguing that blending is a common procedure around the world.

In a statement signed by Chief Corporate Communications Officer Olufemi Soneye, NNPCL responded on Tuesday to a report that said the refinery bought “Cracked C5 petroleum resins” and mixed them with other products, such as naphtha, to sell to the Nigerian public as though it had processed them rather than processing crude oil.
The Old Port Harcourt Refinery is now running at 70% of its installed capacity, with plans to ramp up to 90%, according to Soneye. Claims made by “some individuals implying that the refinery is not producing products” are false, he continued.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) was praised by President Bola Tinubu for successfully restarting the Port Harcourt refinery, which started loading petroleum products on November 26, 2024.
Additionally, Tinubu encouraged the company to accelerate the planned reactivation of the Warri and Kaduna refineries, as well as the second Port Harcourt plant.
Dangote Refinery and other pertinent oil and gas businesses have been debating the “blending” issue extensively.

Okupe predicts presidency won’t return to North in 2027

0

Prior to the general elections of 2023, Dr. Doyin Okupe served as the director general of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organization and as the president’s special assistant for media and publicity. In this interview, he discusses a number of topics, including the Northern elite’s alignment for power to return to the region in 2027, the accomplishments of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the fact that the hardships Nigerians have endured as a result of the reforms are only temporary, and the fact that Tinubu’s government cannot be held accountable for the previous administration’s actions. Joy Anigogu tells

What do you think of the North’s attempts to align that movement in their favor and their posture for dominance in 2027?

It’s not that simple to answer your query. The fact is that this country has stakeholders and has been managed in certain ways since 1960. Even while the nation hasn’t achieved significant progress in terms of economic development or the supply of amenities that would suit or make the people happy, we have managed politics in a way that has kept the nation united. I would like to remind you that, when Olusegun Obasanjo was elected president, there was an unspoken national agreement that a person from the Southwest should be the next president. This is because, if you look at it, Obasanjo and Olu Falae were the two candidates. Southwest prevails in a head-to-tail match. It wasn’t for nothing that the country made that compromise. The reason for this was that the stakeholders believed that the southwest needed to be reassured right after Abiola’s death, when he was thought to have won an election. Northern interest had nothing to do with it. You know, national interest was more important to those in charge of this country’s political affairs in the past than sectional interest. And because we are all pulling in different directions, Nigeria is stagnating, making our inability to develop a national elite system one of the most basic issues. To answer your question explicitly, I think it’s great that so many young people from the north are getting together. For whatever reason, the North needs its political elites to unite, if only to take on the weight of the decades-long neglect of the masses. However, I am a part of this system for 2027, and I declare it authoritatively, without fear of equivocation or disagreement. This system includes me. This system makes sense to me. Power has not yet returned to the north in 2027. We don’t do things that way. Between the north and the south, we alternate. After the north completes eight years, the south completes eight years. Bola Tinubu won’t be a Northerner, but I’m not saying he has to be president in 2027. You know that’s not it. Furthermore, based on recent observations, the easiest thing that some of our northern youth find annoying is the query, “Okay, we’ll show our hand in 2027.” Let’s talk in 2027. You know, cooperation, understanding, and compromise on all fronts—not even coercion—brought this nation together. The North occasionally lacked the necessary personnel to cover open positions in the federal system. We would have things like federal character if there had been a compromise that the North had to make. Even if someone in Abia receives a JAMB score that prevents them from attending university, there have been instances where someone in the north receives less than 20% of that score and gets accepted because we think the north is educationally underprivileged. We have operated our nation in this manner. We have managed this nation with a great deal of cooperation, brotherhood, and patriotism. It’s not that intimidating; it’s more like, “Okay, let’s do this.” TY Danjuma, Abdusalam Abubakar, General Ibrahim, President Babangida, and President Obasanjo are a few of the individuals that have overseen this nation’s affairs in terms of maintaining political equilibrium during the past 25 years. They are becoming older, losing their influence, and becoming less and less taken into account. Unfortunately—and I hate to say this—they have failed to produce an elite class, a younger generation capable of successfully succeeding them on the same foundations that have allowed this polity to develop into what it is today.

It would violate the eight-year rotation plan for the North to fulfill its presidential allotment, according to the North, if they were to run a Southern candidate in 2027, who would likewise desire to serve for eight years. How do you feel about that?

It is a political minefield. The North will have shot itself in the leg if they choose to run against Bola Tinubu with a different candidate from the South. Remember, this is a third-world nation. Let’s say you introduce someone new, and he succeeds. He won’t come to an arrangement with you. It won’t be another eight years for him. Thus, you simply added four more years to the rotation’s lifespan to the south. What has been done by Bola Tinubu? This is something we need to accept. What has been done by Bola Tinubu? Bola Tinubu has introduced significant measures that will help the nation escape the predicament it has been in for the last eight to ten years. Since this is the reality, I shall state it here. This position has not been able to be expressed by this government. However, it is visible to those of us seeing from the outside. The nation had reached the point of social and economic completion at the time the Bola Tinubu administration took office. We were spending 98 percent of our income, and debt service accounted for 98 cents of every dollar. Fuel was being subsidized by us. Power was being subsidized by us. We were paying for almost everything. In the foreign currency market, there was a lot of arbitrage. What, then, did the Buhari government do? They simply went ahead and created money and kept printing money until they had 30 trillion naira. Nigerians were therefore unaffected because the money was still accessible despite having no collateral. A few nations have previously taken this action. So, Nigeria’s wealth is not the issue. One of the world’s biggest reserves of crude oil is found in Venezuela. Venezuela is more impoverished than we are. I’ll show you something, too. A hundred trillion Zimbabwean dollars is most likely worth $15, $16, or $17. Bola Tinubu has now prevented Nigeria from experiencing this. Bola Tinubu would simply return to the previous course of action and keep printing money till, God forbid, we reached this stage if he wanted to be well-known and sing and do all that. People have legitimately complained to me that the dollar is only N1,700, but it could have been worse. That fuel costs N1,000, and it could have cost N17,000 instead. It might have been worse. If these reforms had not been implemented, they would have prevented the rising hyperinflation that followed Bola Tinubu’s presidency, which may have resulted in prices of N3,000 or N4,000 per liter. I would almost say that it is immoral for anyone to criticize this administration after just 18 months in office. It is wholesomely unfair.

Unquestionably, the cost of living crisis is real and is having a severe impact. Over the past nine and a half years of an All Progressives Congress (APC) government, manufacturing is failing and economic losses are increasing.

You are incorrect in assuming that after nine and a half years of APC rule, I, Duyin Okupe, openly referred to the party as a collection of odd bedfellows when it was first established. They made fun of me. Many people coined the term “I.” However, it is now evident that the APC was composed of a number of political factions, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC), and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). These liquids were also immiscible. Indeed, the APC is in power. However, we will need to be able to be more discriminating in this country. It is impossible to hold Bola Tinubu accountable for the government that was in place before him. Indeed, there have been arguments that he was the main figure responsible for Buhari’s rise to power. More over half of Nigeria’s people cheered when Buhari was mentioned as a candidate. Therefore, we all thought the general would perform well. According to the Yoruba, if the masquerade has already given birth to a child and the child is unable to dance, it is the child’s issue rather than the masquerade’s. Recent events have therefore shown that your statements regarding manufacturing, foreign direct investment, and other related topics are incorrect. According to a report released today by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the GDP has increased by three points or so. And a big part of that expansion was the manufacturing you indicated.

In the final quarter of this year, the manufacturing sector grew more than it did the year before. Additionally, foreign direct investment is rising. As I previously mentioned, Buhari printed N30 trillion, which generated interest of almost N7 trillion. The interest that Bola Tinubu paid was N7 trillion. Approximately $7 billion was owing to the airlines. Additionally, it would have hindered Nigerians’ ability to travel, or the economic cost of Lagos to London would have been around N12 million. However, this administration has resolved that issue in less than a year. The results of these implemented reforms are starting to appear. Therefore, it is untrue to generalize about the nine and a half years of APC rule. Let’s concur. Let’s be honest. Inform us about the beginning of this administration. They claim to be heading here. This is the extent of their progress. After that, we help the administration accomplish its goal rather than criticize, undermine, and demonize it.

What do you believe can reverse that and encourage everyone to support the Tinubu government? The figures you’re citing mean nothing to the tens of millions of Nigerians who have been forced into extreme poverty and to many of the homeless.

In the first scenario, an administration’s duration is merely four years. Do you believe that a rottenness that has been there for more than eight years can be resolved in eight months? It can’t. Anyone who wants to run for president after the Buhari government must have gone insane, in my opinion, since we elites in particular are experiencing selective amnesia. For eight years, our nation was neglected on all fronts—socially, economically, and monetarily. Nevertheless, there were no dangers over those eight years. No complaints were made. Everywhere there was silence. There was consent everywhere. You just indicated that there is a lot of youth restlessness in the North, and now someone has taken over this rottenness before he has even had a chance to sit down. Over the past nine years or more, the number of out-of-school children in the North has been rising. Approximately 20 million children are not in school today. President Goodluck Jonathan’s almajiri schools were demolished and abandoned. Now, the level of restlessness and restiveness would not have been as high if any of the youngsters on the street had been accepted into the Almajiri schools. Can you honestly tell yourself and your conscience that Bola Tinubu is to blame for all of this? That isn’t accurate. That’s not right. I was telling you that there is a reformer in the villa, someone who says, “I have stepped out and I’m not going to step back,” and who is not desperate for fame or power. He’s doing it, and I accept responsibility and will work to reform our nation. To transform Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew needed thirty-one years.

Do you believe that, generally speaking, opportunities and prospects for Nigerians have improved or declined since you served as a special adviser to two past presidents, Obasanjo and Jonathan?

I am an evangelist, a Christian, and a representative of Christ. I have no desire to be a minister, commissioner, or anything else, thus I will not stand here for any purpose. Thus, I stand to gain very little. All I’m trying to say is that I want the nation to advance and prosper. Furthermore, I don’t have a strong objection to the individual who is currently there. In actuality, possibilities have long since passed and have become distorted. New opportunities are currently being developed with the help of the established pillars. Would you like to discuss the youngsters who were unable to attend school due to their parents’ financial situation? Now that many are unable to even feed, it will have been worse. This implies that many more of our young people will be unable to enroll in college. According to Bola Tinubu, poverty is no longer a problem or a justification for not getting an education. There is a loan fund that is currently operational, which he promised to do in his agenda. Numerous youth programs are being offered, and numerous efforts to fund them are presently underway. It will require time. I am aware that Nigerians are in distress. Although they refer to it as T-pain, which is Tinubu agony, the reality is that it is not Tinubu pain. It is short-term suffering for long-term benefit. When a reform is underway, it is impossible for it to occur without experiencing short-term discomfort. Furthermore, there can be no profits if there are no pains. We all have to experience this. My late brother used to reside at Okupe Estate during the construction of Ikorodu Road. He would arrive home daily around 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. They were harmed. He is not the only member of the family. On that axis, many individuals suffered. However, it takes us twelve minutes to travel to Ikorodu Road today. The building that was done in Metropolis during the time cost a generation, and they suffered as a result. In order for future generations and even those who are now alive to benefit from much more permanent gains, a generation must endure some short-term suffering. Bola Tinubu’s issue is that there were four main contenders in the election, and when there are strong contenders like that, it might be challenging to get enough votes to secure a majority. The Bola Tinubu administration received roughly 37% of the vote. Therefore, those who oppose him, who have failed, who are naturally African, and who are bad losers are the ones who are stoking the flames of criticism, of failing, of claiming that he has left us. Nigerians need to return and examine the governance now that the elections are finished. Let us examine the work being done critically, impartially, and without bias.
