‘Don’t Just Mock Me, Learn From My Mistakes’ — Mandy Kiss

0

Nigerian adult content creator, Mandy Kiss, has urged people to learn from her mistakes instead of simply mocking her as she starts over at her mother’s shop in Ijebu, Ogun State.

Mandy Kiss made the statement in a video after returning to the market, where she reflected on her experience and encouraged people to live their lives according to their own choices.

“You are free to mock me. It is my fault, but learn from my mistakes. Live your life, do you hear?” she said.

She advised people not to allow other people’s opinions to determine how they live, stressing that personal happiness should come first.

“Don’t live other people’s opinions. Your happiness should come first in anything you’re doing. Put yourself first,” she said.

Mandy Kiss also encouraged her followers to pursue things that make them happy, regardless of opposition.

“Anything that makes you happy, do it regardless of whoever is against it. Live your life,” she added.

Speaking about her return to her family home, she said taking care of the house when she had money made it possible for her to return during a difficult period.

“Thank God I did very well at home. That’s why I was able to go back there. If not, where would I be now?” she said.

She added that her experience had shown her the importance of taking care of one’s family when things are going well.

“I did very well, that’s why I was accepted back into the house. That’s why it is good to take care of the house when you have money,” she said.

Onanuga Fires Back at Melaye Over N20,000 NELFUND Claim

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has slammed African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dino Melaye, over his claims about the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
It was reported that Melaye, in a video making rounds online, described NELFUND as a haven for corruption.

The former lawmaker argued that NELFUND and the Federal Government’s student loan scheme under President Bola Tinubu were questionable.

He questioned the ₦20,000 monthly upkeep allowance provided to student beneficiaries.

Melaye also challenged the administration’s description of the scheme as an initiative to pay students’ school fees, arguing that ₦20,000 could not reasonably cover annual tuition in government-owned tertiary institutions.

In response, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), in a video shared by Onanuga via his 𝕏 handle, mocked Melaye for his claims on NELFUND.

According to NANS: “Do people still take Melaye seriously? Melaye is a comedian, a jester, and he must be a slow-witted human being because anybody that takes him seriously is very unfortunate.

“When people want to talk about education policy in this country, it shouldn’t be Dino Melaye. He was a member of the 8th Senate, and I think he was one of the strongest members who was close to the Senate President.

“What was his policy on education? What did he do for the students in his constituency? Melaye should come out and tell us if he has given N5,000 scholarships or bursaries to students in his constituency.”

In the comment, Onanuga wondered what Melaye had smoked before going on Television to claim that NELFUND gives students only ₦20,000 yearly.

He wrote, “NANS President delivers a stinging rebuke to Dino Melaye over his brazen lie that NELFUND gives students only N20,000 per year.

“You wonder what this former Senator and Atiku campaigner had smoked before going on TV.”

Wike’s Son Denies $2.1 Million Fraud Allegations, Court Demands Passport

0

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Makama, on Tuesday, ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to produce his American passport as proceedings continued in a $2.1 million civil suit against him.

It was gathered that Justice Sylvanus Oriji gave the order following an application by counsel for the claimants, Hamza Dantani, during Jordan’s cross-examination.

In a suit marked CV/008/2026 and filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited claimed that they met Jordan in London, where they developed a rapport. After about three months, they met again in Abuja, where they approached him for assistance to facilitate the acquisition of land in the Federal Capital Territory.

They claim that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land at Katampe and 30 hectares at Guzape. They allege that Jordan told them the facilitation fee was $2.1 million, adding that $2 million was for his father, the FCT Minister, while $100,000 was his personal fee.

The claimants further alleged that the cash was delivered on September 26, 2025 in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki, and Sai Wani, while Jordan was accompanied by one Onor Sandy.

The claimants claim that after receiving the money, Jordan neither delivered the land nor returned the money, and instead went incommunicado.

At the resumed sitting, Jordan, who is represented by Ogwu Onoja (SAN), adopted his statement on oath and denied all the claims of the claimants.

During cross-examination by the claimants’ counsel, Hamza Dantani, Jordan denied any knowledge of what the counsel was talking about.

Dantani applied to the court for Jordan to write his full name on a plain paper five times and his signature the same number of times. The court granted the application, which was not opposed by the defence.

When asked where he was on September 26, 2025, he said he was not in the country.

Asked which passport he travelled with, he said his American passport, but that he could produce it if asked.

Dantani then applied to the court to have the passport produced in court. Justice Oriji then ordered that the passport be produced.

The court adjourned until today, Wednesday for continuation.

It was gathered that the suit followed an alleged joint venture agreement dated October 17, 2025 between the claimants and the defendant, alongside two companies, namely Apostle Associate Limited and Creekstone General Contractor Ltd.

According to the Statement of Claim filed by the claimants, the agreement was for the construction of 24 units of 6-bedroom fully detached duplexes on 1.7 hectares of land at Guzape New Extension and 1.5 hectares at Katampe New Extension.

The claimants were to contribute $4.2 million (or its Naira equivalent of N6.3 billion) as their contribution to the joint venture, while the defendant was to provide the plots of land.

The claimants allege that the defendant pressured them for cash, insisted on receiving dollars, and that they paid $2.1 million in cash on October 17, 2025 at House No. 25, 21 Road, Gwarimpa, Abuja.

They allege that the defendant signed an acknowledgment of receipt, providing his NIN (24217472334), phone number (0703405****), and passport number (A5057****).

The claimants say they later discovered that the plots did not belong to the defendant and that another company was mobilising to build on them. They demanded a refund on 31 October 2025.

In their Statement of Claim, the claimants allege that when the 1st Claimant met the FCT Minister on December 24, 2025 to seek help recovering the money, the Minister cursed and abused him, calling him a liar and a thief.

They allege that the Minister ordered his aide in police uniform to take the 1st Claimant away and hand him over to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, for investigation as a suspect who falsely accused his son.

The claimants allege that the 1st Claimant was treated as a suspect, obtained an extra-judicial statement, and was reluctantly released on bail. They allege the defendant was never invited or appeared at the FCT Police Command.

The defendant, in his Notice of Intention to Defend and supporting affidavit, denied all allegations. He said he does not know the claimants and has never met them anywhere, including Harriot, London, or Nigeria.

He said the claimants’ story changed: a letter to his father and the EFCC dated November 24, 2025 said the 1st Claimant approached him earlier in the year and gave him $2.1 million on 26 September 2025. He said that on that date, at 7:56am, he was on a British Airways flight from Abuja to London.

He said the claimants then changed the story to say it was in October 2025 in Harriot, London.

He denied receiving $2.1 million or signing any acknowledgment. He said the signature is forged and that his current passport number is B5031****, not A5057****, which he said expired in 2022.

He described the allegations as a calculated attempt to blackmail his father, a public figure, and extort money.

A Certified True Copy of a Police Investigation Report attached to the defendant’s filings states that the matter was investigated by the FCT Police Command. According to the report, the 1st Claimant was given ample time to produce evidence of giving the money but had not done so.

The report concluded that in view of the claimant’s reluctance to submit facts of evidential value, he would be arraigned for defamation of character, giving false information to mislead a public servant, and attempted extortion.

Man City Titles: Keane Challenges Players to Discard Medals If Honours Are Revoked

0

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has told Manchester City players to throw their medals away if the club is stripped of titles over financial-rule breaches.

Keane said the achievements of City players during the period under investigation had been undermined by the Premier League’s findings, insisting that the alleged financial misconduct had tainted the club’s success.

Speaking ahead of England’s match against the Czech Republic on Tuesday, Keane told ITV Sport: “If I was a player, I’d be 100% sticking those medals in the bin. Of course you would, it’s cheating.

“They won it on the pitch because cheating was going on.”

The Premier League has found Manchester City guilty of financial-rule breaches covering a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018. City have continued to deny wrongdoing and are expected to appeal the ruling.

During the period in question, City won eight trophies, including three Premier League titles.
Keane also criticised the club over the alleged breaches, saying: “They knew it would hurt a lot of people, but they’ve still done it.”

However, Keane’s former Manchester United teammate, Wayne Rooney, has taken a different position on whether United should be handed City’s titles retrospectively if sanctions eventually lead to their removal.

Rooney was part of the United side that finished runners-up to City in the 2011-12 Premier League season.

Speaking on the Stick to United podcast, Rooney said he would not want to receive a title years after the season had been completed.

“I wouldn’t feel comfortable about accepting another Premier League medal if I’m being honest, because I don’t think we deserve it.

“We didn’t do enough that season to win the league,” he said.

Rooney also said he would understand the disappointment of City players who may not have been aware of activities allegedly taking place at the club’s higher levels.

The Premier League has yet to announce sanctions against City following the ruling. Possible punishment could include the removal of Premier League titles, while City are expected to challenge the decision through the appeal process.

Five Men Arrested After Wearing ‘Tinubu Must Go’ T-Shirts in Borno

Five men have been arrested for wearing T-shirts bearing the caption, “Tinubu Must Go,” in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

According to Amnesty International in a statement on Tuesday, the arrested men are Baba Aji Gremami, Mustapha Abba Yemen, Abacha Mohammed Ali, Adam Umar Gubio and Abdulhamid Mohammed.

It condemned the arrests, stating that wearing a T-shirt with a message of political dissent is not a crime and that expressing political opposition is part of human rights.

The rights organisation demanded the unconditional release of the men, urging the authorities to drop any purported plan to put them through a sham trial based on bogus charges.

“The right to show and express political opinion is not exclusive to only one political party.

“Borno State Government and the police have increasingly been carrying out repressive arrests and detentions targeting opposition political parties and their supporters,” it said.

The rights group said authorities in Borno are using the law to criminalise peaceful dissent and silence opposition.

It said the government of Babagana Zulum must not crack down on peaceful dissent or use state power against political opponents.

Amnesty added that the government must uphold everyone’s rights to freedom of expression and association and respect the rule of law.

Minna custody saga: SNM calls for calm, lauds Tinubu, Tunji-Ojo, NSCDC boss

A National Civil Society Organisation on the aiges of Save Nigeria Movement (SNM) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Audi Abubakar, for their swift responses to the deaths of 37 children arrested from mining sites in Minna, Niger state.

The group, in a statement released Tuesday in Abuja by its National Coordinator, Joseph Uyeh, expressed heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased children and the Niger State Government over the tragic and painful loss that had shaken the conscience of the nation.

According to the statement, “while we do not support illegal mining activities, allegations of wrongdoing should not deprive any Nigerian of the constitutional rights to life, dignity and the presumption of innocence”.

The organisation commended President Tinubu for ordering a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths, saying the directive demonstrated the Federal Government’s commitment to accountability and the protection of citizens’ lives.

The group also praised the Minister of Interior for promptly constituting and inaugurating a 10-member independent investigative committee to examine the circumstances that led to the unfortunate tragedy with the view to avoiding further occurrences

The organisation also commended the NSCDC Commandant-General, Prof. Ahmed Audi Abubakar, for the measures taken against officers allegedly involved in the incident.

It noted that the reported suspension and arrest of the officers demonstrated the importance of institutional accountability while investigations into the incident continue.

The SNM, however, appealed to political actors, civil society organisations, and other interest groups to refrain from politicising and using the tragedy to inflame political tensions or incite public unrest

It urged Nigerians and other stakeholders to allow the independent investigative process to run its course, noting that the findings of the committee would be critical to establishing the facts surrounding the incident and determining appropriate measures.

The group called for calm, patience, and respect for due process while urging all relevant authorities to ensure that the investigation remains transparent and that any individual found culpable is held accountable.

“Justice will definitely be served,” the statement said, urging Nigerians to remain peaceful and law-abiding as the investigation proceeds.

Bello El-Rufai: Peter Obi Always Calls to Check on My Dad

0

A member of the House of Representatives from Kaduna North, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, has said the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has given him life lessons.
It was reported that Bello, in a video shared online, said the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, and the NDC vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, often call to ask about his father, Nasir El-Rufai, who is currently in detention.

Bello, the Chairman of the Committee on Banking Regulations, said Peter Obi’s calls were a lesson to him because he had strongly criticised him in the past.

He said: “Politicians like Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mr Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and others called me to ask about my dad.

“I would like to thank them, particularly Mr Peter Obi. He always called me to ask about my dad. And for me, at 38, it’s a lesson in life because, in the case of Obi, I used to be critical of him.

“And for Malam, he is using the time to finish books, catch up, read the Quran, so it’s also a moment for him in isolation to reflect, plan better, and tone down on things like that.”

Recall that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) arrested El-Rufai on February 18, 2026, following investigations into alleged fraud during his tenure as governor.

From March to April 2026, the former governor faced multiple arraignments across different courts.

He was arraigned on a 10-count money laundering charge by the ICPC on March 24, intercepted by the Department of State Services (DSS) on April 1, faced additional ICPC charges over rail and CCTV contracts in mid-April, and was formally arraigned by the DSS in Abuja on April 23 over alleged communication interception.

In May, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja granted El-Rufai bail in the sum of N100 million and one surety.

The judge delivered the ruling in a case filed by the DSS regarding an alleged national security breach and unauthorised access to a telephone conversation involving the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.

In June, Justice Abdulmalik refused to vary the stringent bail conditions in the DSS wiretapping case.

Airport Extortion, Insecurity Threaten Diaspora Return to Nigeria — US Cleric

0

A United States-based cleric and founder of Queen Belemzy Ministry School of Power, Columbus, Ohio, Apostle Queen Belemzy, has said insecurity and extortion at Nigerian airports are major reasons millions of Nigerians in the diaspora are unwilling to return home.

Apostle Belemzy spoke at a three-day spiritual revival programme with the theme, Holy Ghost Encounter, and her birthday celebration ongoing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Reacting to why many diasporans are reluctant to come back, Belemzy admitted she also struggled with the decision to return.

“I didn’t want to come back here, too. Even this one I struggled with it. I didn’t even announce this programme till two weeks ago, even though God had told me about it seven weeks ago. I refused to talk about it, I didn’t want to do it here because of all the things going around,” she said.

The cleric, who disclosed that over 20 of her members flew in from Germany, United Kingdom, United States of America, Dubai and other countries for the programme, said fear of kidnapping and robbery remains the number one deterrent.

“Why they are scared to come, like I said, the insecurity is number one, and it’s a big deal because of the kidnappings. But, when those things are removed, people will want to come here. This place is wonderful,” she stated.

Apostle Belemzy noted that Nigeria is richly blessed with organic foods, talent and culture that should ordinarily attract its citizens abroad, but fear has taken over.

“Since I’ve been eating the food for the past four weeks that I’ve been here, oh my God, the food is just digesting so fast. It’s not all chemicals, it’s all organic. There are many things here. Even talents, look at all of you guys are so talented. And Nigeria is so blessed. People want to come, but they are afraid of what will happen. Would they be kidnapped? Would they be robbed?” She said.

Apostle Belemzy also decried the high rate of begging and alleged extortion at the airports, describing the experience as discouraging for visitors.

“There are lots of people here who are not making high money here. So, they tend to beg. And it starts from the airport, once you land, you see begging all over the airport. Sometimes, before, I used to get upset at it; but, then, when I think about it, they’re not making enough money, and sometimes that money you give them is all they have at that moment,” she said.

She narrated an ugly experience encountered by some of her members on arrival.

“Like my members that came yesterday, they had an experience at the airport. A lady was forcing them, ‘You have to pay $20, if not you can’t pass.’ One of my members here had to bail them out, you see what I’m saying? So, when you experience such things at the airport, it’s so discouraging,” Apostle Belemzy added.

The cleric called on authorities to address insecurity and restore dignity at the nation’s entry points to encourage diasporans to reconnect with home.

Juliana Olayode Urges Women Not to See Marriage as a Measure of Worth

0

Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has spoken about societal expectations surrounding marriage, saying women should not be criticised simply because they want to become wives.

Olayode addressed the issue in a post shared with her Instagram followers, where she defended women who openly express their desire for marriage.

She explained that women have different priorities and should be allowed to make personal decisions about relationships without being judged.

The actress said women who prefer single life deserve respect, but those who desire marriage should also be able to express that wish without being called desperate.

She argued that wanting a husband does not make a woman less ambitious or erase her achievements.

“Wanting to get married is not a personality disorder,” she wrote.

Olayode acknowledged that marriage can be challenging and that some marriages end in painful circumstances. However, she said this does not prevent many people from viewing marriage positively and hoping to experience a fulfilling union.

She recounted a salon experience where she overheard women criticising another woman for wanting to get married.

According to Olayode, she offered her perspective during the discussion and later found humour in the incident after seeing a “BRIDE” swimsuit gifted to her by a friend in 2024.

The actress said women can pursue several goals at the same time, including faith, purpose, career, financial stability, friendship, family and marriage.

She urged people to extend the same freedom they demand for themselves to others.

Olayode concluded by wishing women who desire marriage good partners and fulfilling relationships, celebrating love and marriage with the words, “Up Love! Up Marriage!”

National Assembly Reconvenes After Annual Legislative Break

The Nigerian National Assembly has resumed plenary today, Tuesday, September 29, following its annual recess.

The Senate and House of Representatives are returning to legislative business after an extension of the recess, which was initially scheduled to end earlier this month.

Lawmakers are expected to focus on pending legislative business, including constitutional amendments, electoral reforms and oversight of the implementation of the 2026 national budget.

The constitutional amendment process is also expected to remain a major issue following the transmission of proposed amendments to the 36 State Houses of Assembly for consideration.

The proposed reforms cover issues including state police, local government administration, electoral matters and other institutional reforms.

The resumption comes as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with lawmakers expected to consider outstanding electoral reforms and other measures affecting the electoral process.

The leadership of the Senate and House of Representatives is expected to outline legislative priorities as plenary gets underway.

Lawmakers are also expected to face questions on the implementation of the 2026 budget, constituency projects and other matters of national interest.

The National Assembly had earlier extended its recess to allow the completion of rehabilitation work in the legislative chambers.
