Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche, of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, on Saturday, reached out to widows, orphans and less-privileged as part of activities to mark this year’s Christmas and New Year’s Celebrations.

The outreach took place inside the Glory Dome at the Lord’s Garden, along Airport Road, Abuja.

The ministration is done annually to reach out to people during Christmas season.

Speaking during the empowerment programme attended by several people from various denominations and across religious lines, Dr. Paul described the gesture as a way of reaching to people and as well reminds them about the love of Christ.

He said the gesture was in line with biblical injunction, which says, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 KJV).

Among items distributed during the ministration were: hundreds of bags of rice, tomatoes, bags of salt, Holy Bibles, noodles, tubers of yams, oil, toiletries, wrappers, and other items running into thousands of pieces each.
Earlier in October during her birthday celebration, Dr. Becky Enenche, singlehandedly sponsored an Empowerment of Outreach for women as well as the less-privileged where items such as sewing machines, grinding engines, deep freezers, bags of rice, industrial ovens and several other items worth millions of naira were distributed.

Lawyer writes Finland Ambassador over activities of IPOB’s propagandist

A human rights attorney, Osuagwu Ugochukwu, has alerted Finland over the conduct of a Nigerian lawyer based in the country with known affiliation to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

This was contained in a letter addressed to the Finnish government, through its Ambassador to Nigeria.

Mr Simon Ekpa had published a video urging Southeasterners to quit the Nigerian Military following an alleged capture and execution of troops by Boko Haram terrorists.

In a press statement on Friday, however, Mr Ugochukwu described the claim as “false” aimed to “cause disaffection and destabilize the Nigerian troops”.

Having thoroughly examined the purported video, the human rights lawyer concluded that the “said soldiers are certainly not Nigerians and the location not identified as Nigeria”.

He further described Mr Ekpa as a “ misguided Nigerian lawyer in Finland who, not living in Nigeria, wants to put the country on fire”.

Mr Ugochukwu, therefore, called on the Finnish authorities to look into the activities of the lawyer while urging Nigerians to ignore the video.

The video publication by SIMON EKPA on December 10 2019 claiming that the Soldiers being tied and shot in the bush by Boko Haram are Nigerians and thus urging Easterners to resign from Nigeria Army is most shocking and a threat to National Security.

I have examined the purported video and the said soldiers in the footage are certainly not Nigerians and the location not identified as Nigeria. Thus the wild claim by Simon Ekpa that Nigeria Soldiers are being killed indiscriminately by Boko Haram based on the so called video is False and malicious publication against the institution of the Nigerian Army and Nigeria as a whole. Such publications are mischievously designed by Ekpa who is a Lawyer based in Finland, to cause disaffection and destabilize the Nigerian troops.

Simon Ekpa is a misguided Nigerian Lawyer in Finland who, not living in Nigeria, wants to put the country on fire by such hate speech and hate publication.

We call on the Embassy of Finland to look into the activities of Simon Ekpa who lives in Finland and hides there to cause disaffection and aim at maligning the leadership of the Nigerian Army. We urge the Finland Ambassador to by this notice take steps in initiating action against Simon Ekpa who is based Lahti 85 km from Helsinki and operates on FINNISH MOBILE +35837800600.

Nigerians should thereby ignore the said viral video as its manipulated and never a scene involving Nigerian soldiers. Simon Ekpa surely would soon be brought to book by the relevant state security service and justice will be meted to him in no distant time for engaging in acts capable of destabilizing Nigerian troops and threatening National security.

Is France the true face of Boko Haram?

I have followed the war against terrorism in Nigeria with keen attention and conclude that indeed, there is a grand conspiracy against Nigeria. I say this for various reasons, chiefly amongst them is how the Boko Haram group now ISWAP have continued to wage a war despite the fact that they have been under heavy bombardment from the Nigerian troops.

I know some won’t agree with my position on the decimation of the Boko Haram/ISWAP group for reasons best known to them. However, my reason is based on facts available for all discerning minds to verify.

As a start, it must be stated that since 2009 when the Boko Haram sect took up violence against the Nigerian state, there has never been a time like now that the Nigeria troops engaged the renegades and confined them to the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin region.

From the year 2016 to the present day, the Boko Haram group suffered heavy bombardments from the Nigeria troops that saw to the capture of its operational headquarters in Sambisa Forest as well as the takeover of the 16 local government areas it once held sway.

I believe that we celebrated too early in the day, thinking that what were left in the war against terrorism in Nigeria were clearance operations of the remnants of the Boko Haram fighters. We were wrong. We didn’t realize the international dimension in the Boko Haram war; we thought we were dealing with a group of locals blinded by an ideology that wasn’t in tune with reality.

Then came the rush by international NGOs to North East Nigeria under various nomenclatures purportedly rendering humanitarian services, but in truth engaged in espionage activities. Upon realization of this fact, the military authorities in Nigeria raised the alarm, and as usual, some segment of the populace joined forces with some hogwash human rights organizations to criticize the military authorities. It didn’t stop there.

The military authorities also raised the alarm on how some foreign interests are selling arms and ammunitions to the Boko Haram group, and there was also an unjustifiable outcry stating that the military authorities were making excuses to violate human rights. But today, with the emerging facts that Boko Haram fighters are receiving arms and ammunition, including battle tanks with which they launch attacks, from France through the francophone routes, our eyes have become clear.

This is the stark reality confronting us as it stands. Questions are begging for answers now. Questions such as the way and manner the Boko Haram group gets its supplies. And why is it that there is a great deal of terrorist activity at the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin despite the presence of a strong detachment of French troops stationed in Chad. And they are supposedly fighting terrorism in the region.

There has also been a round of intellectual debate on the French connection in bolstering the activities of Boko Haram. And all the arguments point in the direction of France. Initially, I had reservations on the postulations, but not anymore from what I was able to gather from credible intellectual and military sources.

In my curiosity, I placed all the postulations on the table, and the pieces of evidence were overwhelming, so much so that I cringed. And admitted that indeed France has something up its sleeves in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria. This is a shame and an outright affront to the independence of Nigeria by France. This is the case of the man behind the mask.

In all of these, a question keeps popping up in my head. And the question is how did we allow such a heist to thrive? I won’t blame the military authorities because the alarm had indeed been raised earlier, but we chose to ignore it and instead play to the gallery. And now that the reality has dawned on us, we are dazed.

We are dazed because we failed to see the masquerade in France and the Francophone countries surrounding us. We didn’t ask questions when Boko Haram fighters were attacking military formations with gun trucks and carrying out surveillances with sophisticated drones. We didn’t ask how they acquired the dexterity with which they operated military tanks. We didn’t also ask why they have made the Lake Chad Basin Region their safe heaven.

It is indeed ironic that France, for whatever reason, has so been sponsoring the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group so it could continue to wreak havoc in Nigeria and continue to benefit from the heist. At this point, I would say that the role of France in promoting the activities of the Boko Haram group is indeed despicable and worthy of condemnation by all stakeholders in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.

I believe that now that many revelations have come to the open, Nigeria must take urgent steps towards addressing this anomaly. The international community must also rise to this occasion and ensure that France is called to question. The danger of the whole scenario is that should France succeed in this plot of spreading terrorism across the African continent; the consequences might be severe for these countries to deal with.

And with regards to Nigeria, the government must begin the process of galvanizing the cooperation of other African countries to ensure that this illicit trade is nipped in the bud. The military authorities must also channel resources and efforts towards wiping the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorist from the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin Region through the cooperation of the Multinational Joint Task Force. We cannot afford to wait any longer. Time is of the essence. And for France, the game plan has come to the open, and it is an indication that an end is indeed around the corner for its nefarious activities on the African continent.

A word is indeed enough for the wise.

Agbese, who is the Chief Executive Officer of TheNigerian, a news portal established in the United Kingdom, had in a widely circulated press statement announced the date and venue for the launch of the book and few hours after the news went public, inquiries about the book dominated the social media space with many asking for copies.

Public curiosity in the book has been aroused by the recent debate occasioned by a Nigerian newspaper editorial on whether President Buhari has earned his place as a democratic leader.

The author made it known in the statement that both the background and  current leadership style of the Nigerian President agree with the main point in the book that the President Buhari has earned respect as a transformational leader and an outstanding democrat.

The pungency of the view canvassed as well as the authority with which the book is written serves to whet the appetite  of the reading public that various institutions and individuals have placed orders for the book ahead of the set date for launch.

A statement  from the book launch committee called on the general public who are eager to demonstrate their love and support for President Muhammad Buhari to be patient as copies would be made available on the day of the launch and in leading book stores across the country.

The committee said there’s no doubt that the twisted  narrative about the President which some are trying to impose on the populace would be challenged with the launch of the book stating that Nigerians and the international community would soon get to know the truth about the true qualities of the Nigerian President.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said the nation needs a character like Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

He commended El-Rufai for his pan-Nigeria character and his commitment to good governance.

The former president who was a special guest at Kaduna State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday said he was happy with El-Rufai’s approach to governance especially in giving opportunities to women.

Gov. El Rufai Welcoming Obasanjo to Kaduna

According to Obasanjo, the governor’s cabinet reflects a mini-Nigeria and has been striving to restore the past glory of Kaduna as a melting point of all Nigerians.

The former president recalled that El-Rufai, who served under his administration as Minister of FCT, was “one of the best persons to work with, he is a near-genius.”

“We need a character like this, a man that you know where you stand with him.

“Any job given to him will be well done,’’ Obasanjo said, adding that the people of Kaduna state now “have a good leader to work with.”

The former president described his visit as a homecoming, saying he built his first house at the Makera area of Kaduna when he served at the Mogadishu Army Battalion between 1959 and 1967.

Responding, El Rufai described Obasanjo as a mentor, adding that he learned many public service skills from him when he served in his government as a minister.

France: Africa’s real enemy and its mission

Interesting times are indeed here with the way, and manner events are unfolding in Nigeria with regards to the fight against terrorism. Some conspiracy theorists have argued that there is more than meets the eyes in the battle against the Boko Haram terrorist group in North-East Nigeria.

Some have alleged that some foreign interest has been covertly fuelling the crisis by providing logistics support to the Boko Haram terrorist group; some have also claimed that a particular European country has been selling arms and ammunition to the group. While all of these postulations are true, the main culprit in the whole debacle is indeed France.

I recall that in times past, a credible newspaper in Nigeria released an investigative report exposing how France has been fuelling the Boko Haram war in Nigeria in an attempt to cause a gradual disintegration of the country. In the said report, it was stated that “Intelligence sources stated that the possession of sophisticated weapons for insurgents, logistics and medical supplies by the Boko Haram terror group showed signs of funding by foreign interests.”

The investigative report further added that “we have seen these types of automatic weapons when they are dislodged or killed. These are not ordinary weapons; they are sophisticated machine guns and rifles, and sometimes they have tanks that are not our tanks. We have seen weapons with numbers that show that they were not just sourced through the black market but directly supplied by known arms manufacturers from France.”

If this is the case, then there is every reason to believe that, indeed, some countries are bent on seeing to the disintegration of Nigeria. Like I stated earlier, it is no other country, but France and I say this for two reasons. One is the fact that Nigeria is surrounded by the Francophone countries, whose borders these arms, ammunition, and military tanks are brought into the country. The second fact is the presence of a 4,500-strong French force, which is permanently headquartered in N’Djamena; the capital of Chad code-named Operation Barkhane, a supposed anti-insurgent operation in Africa’s Sahel region.

The question thus is, if there is the presence of a French troop in Chad, then how could one explain how and why the Boko Haram fighters were able to regroup on the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin region and launching attacks in Nigeria? How could one also explain how caches of arms and ammunitions would pass through the Chad-Nigerian border into Nigeria, and there is a French troop supposedly meant to fight terrorism.

Let us learn to call a spade a spade and understand that the French troops stationed in Chad are there to provide that logistics support to the Boko Haram group because there is no way there would be a French troop stationed in a country and a terrorist group would use the same country as their training camp and avenue for bringing in arms and ammunitions. It is also no longer news that Boko Haram’s presence in Chad has been most strongly felt around Lake Chad, which lies primarily within Chadian territory. What does this tell us?

I stand to be corrected in this regard because there have been instances where concerned stakeholders in the fight against terrorism have raised an eyebrow as regards the commitment of the French authorities. This much has led to demonstrations in Nigeria against the activities of French NGOs in operation in Nigeria. Without mincing words, it is most despicable how France has brazenly supported evil against a sovereign country.

The danger of this is that should the relevant authorities refuse to interrogate and ask critical questions; I am afraid France might succeed in its desire to recolonize Africa through the back door. The international bodies such as the United Nations must also rise to this challenge and ensure that the nefarious activities of France in Africa are curtailed in the interest of peace and tranquility.

To think that a country like France would harbor the idea of making the African continent unstable so it could achieve its desire to dominate its affairs is most unthinkable. To make matters worse, the avenue with which it intends to accomplish this is demeaning and should not be tolerated by discerning minds.

I am also appalled that the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, would harbor such disdain for the African continent by promoting terrorist activities. I recall at a press conference at the G20 summit in Hamburg, he was asked about a “Marshall Plan for Africa.” The president gave a disquisition on Africa’s “real” problems – among them, in his view, demographics and lack of “civilization,”

If the above statement does not give us a hint on how the mind of Emmanuel Macron works, then nothing else would. It is a clear case of the hand of Esau and the voice of Jacob because, in public, he appears to be advocating for a better Africa continent, but in truth, his disdain for the African continent is legendary.

I think with the avalanche of revelations as to the involvement of France in spreading terrorism in Nigeria and the African continent; it’s time for African patriots to stand in one voice to condemn France under Emmanuel Macron because this is the height of deceit and it must be resisted.

At this point, I must state clearly that Africa’s real enemy in the fight against terrorism is France. This much we now know, and this much we shall resist — enough of the deceit. And for Emmanuel Macron, it is indeed a great shame to think France can recolonize Africa by causing conflict and promoting terrorism.

The  Nigerian Army says the viral video portraying the purported killing of some soldiers on December 10 2019 by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents is false, describing it as , ‘unsubstantiated’ and stage managed.

In a statement, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa said the video was  apparently fabricated and circulated on the social media to cause panic among Nigerians and dampen the morale of gallant troops who have in recent times been rooting out remnants of the insurgents hibernating on the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin.

“The Nigerian Army wishes to emphatically state that there was no incident that involved the ‘capture and killing of tens and tens of Nigerian soldiers on the 10th of December 2019” as mischievously and wickedly portrayed in the video.

“Similarly, preliminary observation of the video clip (even by the amateur) will reveal that the video was doctored and that the entire events captured in the footage was not an occurrence that took place at any point in time within the shores of Nigeria.” He said.

Col Musa called on the members of the general public and indeed personnel of the Nigerian Army especially those in the North East theatre of operation to disregard the sinister, very inciting and divisive video concocted and peddled by the outlawed IPOB members whose main objective is the disunity and fragmentation of Nigeria as clearly shown or espoused in the video.

“Accordingly, the call by one Simon Ekpa, (the principal actor in the clip), calling on soldiers of South East extraction presently serving in the North East to desert the Army and return to Biafra as well as calling on South Easterners not to join the Nigerian Army is an obvious indication of the essence and objective of the masterminds of this fake video which should be dicountenanced by the public.

“Meanwhile the leadership of the Nigerian Army wish to also reiterate its unflinching commitment to sustain the war against terrorism and shall not be deterred by the evil machinations or propagandist activities of mischievous persons whose main interest is the disunity of our beloved nation.” the statement added.

CEIEC seeks collaboration with Army to manufacture military electronic gadgets

The China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation (CEIEC), has sought partnership with the Nigerian Army for manufacturing military electronic warfare to enhance efficiency in professional service delivery.

The Manager, Department of African Market, Mr. Eric Zhang made this known when he led the two man delegation to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, his delegation was in the country to introduce the company to the Chief of Army Staff and the Army as well as intimate him of the things the company produces that could be beneficial to the military.

Mr. Zhang reechoed that the Chinese military industry has a long existing history in cooperation with Nigeria services and expressed delight in seeing

Zhang explained that CEIEC which is 100 percent owned by China represent the military and defence industries in China.

According to him, his company will offer to produce electronics for Nigeria’s National Defence industry including command and control system,electronic warfare system, communication system used for defence purposes, among others.

He further maintained that CEIEC is a total supplier of all defence electronic warfare for over 30 countries all over the world, including some African countries.

In his response, the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai said the future of the Nigerian Army was to develop a capacity to be able to produce in the country this reducing the time involved in the processes of importing procedure as well as cutting down the cost.

Represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Nigerian Army, Lt. Gen. Lamido Adeosun, Buratai acknowledged the good relationship that existed between the both countries over the years. He said China has assisted Nigeria in areas of construction, civil engineering and all other technical areas.

Buratai further said there was already arrangement for the sell and purchase of military equipment directly from China for Arm forces of Nigeria.

He however said, the cooperation between the both countries had stood the test of time, expressed hope that it will continue to wax stronger as both countries will continue to relate and remaining relevant in the committee of nations.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism (MAST) has cautioned France President, Emmanuel Macron, to stop sponsoring terrorism in Nigeria and other African nations.

The Pan-African group made their voices heard on Wednesday at the end of a one-day walk to the French embassy in Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capita city.

The visibly frustrated Africans, numbering in their hundreds demanded that the French authorities must end ties with Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists which it has routinely armed.

Addressing the media in front of the French consulate, convener, Princess Ajibola said the mission was to get Macron’s attention that Nigeria is a sovereign nation and any attempt to compromise its territorial integrity would be resisted.

According to madam Ajibola, the group has overwhelming evidence to back its claim that the European nation is indeed behind the recent upsurge in terrorism in the country.

The group reckoned the French action is born out of greed – hinged on economic benefits owing to the avalanche of economic resources in the North-East, particularly the Lake Chad Basin region.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism, therefore, warned the French authorities to desist from further mischief which has undermined the remarkable gains of the Nigerian Army.

The group also called the attention of the United Nations to the crime against humanity being perpetrated by Macron.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is a protest for the rescue of the soul of our dear country Nigeria from the forces of evil that have attempted to cause disharmony and disintegration by covertly sponsoring the activities of terrorists in Nigeria.

We embarked on this protest march to send a powerful message to the French authorities that Nigerians are indeed aware of its nefarious activities with regards to the ongoing war against terrorism in North-East Nigeria.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism as a civil society organization decided to take our protest to the French Embassy in Abuja, so the message could be relayed to the French Authorities wherever they are that Nigeria is indeed a sovereign country and as such any form or attempt to compromise our territorial integrity would be resisted wholeheartedly.

Since 2015 when the present administration assumed leadership of this country, there has been tremendous progress recorded in the fight against the Boko Haram terrorist group. So much so that Nigerian troops captured their operational headquarters (Camp Zero) in Sambisa forest to the glory of God.

It didn’t stop there; the Nigerian troops also recaptured the over 16 local government areas in North-East Nigeria that were once under the control of Boko Haram terrorists. By and large, the Boko Haram group was decimated and fled in their droves to the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin region, from where they launch an attack on soft target communities within that vicinity.

We are aware that some vested interest was not happy with the gains made by Nigeria in the fight against terrorism. As such, they began providing logistic support under humanitarian cover to the Boko Haram fighters.

They also assumed the role of the mouthpiece of the Boko Haram terrorist group. They used their state medium to promote their nefarious activities and to give them the needed psychological boost.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism wishes to state in unequivocal terms that France is indeed responsible for the resurgence of Boko Haram attacks in Nigeria in recent times because there is overwhelming evidence that it has been selling arms and ammunitions to the Boko Haram terrorist group. These arms come into the country through the francophone countries.

We also wish to send this message to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, that what France is doing under his watch is indeed a crime against humanity. As such, it must, as a matter of urgency, desist from spreading terrorism in Nigeria and the African countries.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism sees the actions of France as an assault on our sovereignty as a country. This is indeed despicable and must be condemned by all and sundry.

We are also aware that the actions of France are hinged on economic benefits given the avalanche of economic resources in North-East Nigeria, particularly the Lake Chad Basin region.

This is indeed an attempt at recolonization, which by all standards is puerile and won’t stand the test of time because Nigerians would resist every move with passion.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism is by this protest asking the French authorities to desist from their evil ways or face the full wrath of Nigerians who are ever ready to protect the sovereignty of the country.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism is also by this protest informing the relevant authorities in Nigeria to act in the best interest of Nigeria as it would indeed be a slap on our faces should we allow France to carry on with its destabilization plot on Nigeria.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism is also calling on the United Nations to investigate the role of France in the spread of terrorism in Nigeria and Africa.

France must also stop the sale of Arms and Ammunition to the Boko Haram terrorist group in the interest of peace and tranquility. This is on the heels that the bulk of the French NGOs operating in North-East Nigeria are carrying out espionage activities and passing the same to the leadership of the Boko Haram terrorist group on the instruction of French authorities.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism is indeed saying enough is enough, and France must stop the distasteful support it has been extending to the Boko Haram terrorist group in Nigeria, which is aimed at making Nigeria erupt in flames.

The Movement Against Slavery and Terrorism wishes to inform the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, that the world is indeed watching closely and should the French authorities not halt the spread of terrorism in Nigeria, the day of reckoning is indeed near.

The Chairman who was accompanied by the Area Commander, Otukpo Police Division as well as the DPO, Aliade Police Division, made the call when he visited the the scene of the Owu/Otukpo’Icho crises, to see the level of damages done and to interface with the warring communities, with a view to bringing the crises to a permanent end.

The Chairman wondered why communities that have cohabited peacefully for years will resort to violent clashes amongst themselves.

Alli said “I came here today to see things for myself. My sympathies goes to all the families that are directly affected by this unfortunate crises. What happened here is a bad omen for all of us. This is a big mistake. It should never happen. I call on all parties to please sheath their sword in the interest of peace.”

He said further, “While we are yet to fully recover from the pains inflicted on our brothers in the state external aggressors our people are taking up arms against each other. We can only face our enemies when we stand together as one united Benue people”, he said.

The Chairman said he will lias with his Gwer West Counterpart and other relevant agencies to see that the ugly incident does not repeat itself again. He also said he has directed security agencies to be on alert to forestall any further aggression within the area.
