I Value Respect Over Labels’ – Fubara Responds to Criticism of Not Being Politician

0

Sim Fubara, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, has dismissed criticisms regarding his political status and questioned the criteria for being a politician.
Fubara reportedly indicated this while suggesting that he and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike (the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory), were working towards peace.
Remember that Wike and Fubara’s relationship deteriorated after the governor took office in 2023.

The duo’s rift impacted the state’s governing bodies, including the state House of Assembly, prior to President Bola Tinubu’s six-month state of emergency declaration in response to a complete security crisis.

During his suspension, Fubara allegedly held meetings with Tinubu and Wike in an effort to reconcile.

Fubara, in a viral online video, stated to a crowd of his supporters that there is no reason peace cannot exist between him and his ‘Oga’, referring to Wike.

Fubara stated that, despite discussions about him not being a politician, the respect he has earned holds more significance than one that is coerced.

He stated, “There’s no reason peace can’t exist between my Oga and me; we desire peace for Rivers’ progress.

“I want to implore everyone. They say I’m not a politician, but I don’t know what the entry requirements are for wanting to be one. What matters most in this life is the respect I’ve earned, not the respect that’s coerced.

“I wish to gain your respect by serving you rather than by giving orders. Don’t hesitate to let me know when I make mistakes.

“I require everyone’s support, and we must support one another. Once more, I want to assure you that I am entirely with you.”

BREAKING: Fubara Supports Tinubu’s Stand on Rivers Emergency Rule

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers, has urged Rivers residents and Nigerians to applaud President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt action in declaring an emergency to save the state from impending chaos brought on by the persistent political conflict.

Additionally, according to Fubara, the process of peace and reconciliation needed to restore all of the state’s legislative and executive offices and institutions was already under way.

Fubara promised that the state would soon resume democracy and good government, with both branches cooperating for the benefit of the populace.
The governor addressed during a meeting with Simplified Movement leaders and stakeholders on Thursday in Port Harcourt as part of events to commemorate his two years in office, according to a statement sent by Fubara’s chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.

“I want to reassure you that the issues will be resolved soon, and you will return to your offices—not just at the Legislative arm, but also at the Executive arm,” he stated. Additionally, I think that the solid bonds we once shared will resurface, and we will start cooperating once more for the benefit and advancement of the state. Our ability to forgive is what matters most.
Fubara asked his followers and the people of Rivers as a whole to express their sincere gratitude to Mr. President for his audacious move to end the State’s deteriorating political situation.

In order for the state to proceed, he urged them to fully commit to the peace process.

“We are already in the peace process,” he stated. I would want to thank the President for his prompt action to save the day and bring stability to the State and the political system. The story today might have been different if it weren’t for Mr. President.

He acted wisely at the appropriate moment, albeit I’m not sure how he obtains his information. You should give him the credit. In addition, I would like to express my gratitude to him directly for his action as well as to the national celebrities that moved in and urged him to do so.

“We must get off our high horses and submit to the peace process.” And we are doing just that. The State’s progress is what matters. The interests of the state come first; it is not about you.

He pointed out that if it weren’t for the political circumstances brought on by the crisis, the second year’s festivities would have served to highlight some of the significant achievements made by the administration in a number of state areas.

Fubara gave his word that the government would return stronger, more cohesive, and better equipped to provide the people with the high-quality dividends of democracy.

He acknowledged that people had the right to air their resentment and concerns, but he swiftly added that everyone should embrace peace, seek forgiveness, and strive reconciliation for the sake of the state’s growth and advancement.

Fubara begged for pardon from anyone who might have been let down by his handling of the situation, stressing that his actions were motivated by a desire to preserve the State’s peace and advancement.

He thanked the president for his fatherly efforts to bring peace, stability, and good governance back to the state and promised to soon reestablish a relationship with Chief Nyesom Wike, the former governor and minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He said that there have been a number of reconciliation sessions since the President’s intervention, some of which have taken place at the FCT minister’s home.

In reference to Chief Nyesom Wike, the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and his predecessor, he stated: “There is no reason why there will not be peace between me and my Oga.” We’re gathering. We’ll patch things up.

Fubara expressed gratitude to the people for their efforts and for giving him the chance to serve, and he pledged to uphold the dignity of the State’s citizens, who gave him the mandate.

“Respect is a crucial aspect of this life. I want to gain people’s respect, not impose it. I really agree with you,” he responded.

He acknowledged the prayers and devotion of the people of Rivers and all Nigerians who supported him during the time of political unrest.

Over Outfit Endorsing Tinubu, Charly Boy Slams Orji Kalu: You Have Taken Sycophancy To Another Level

Orji Kalu, the senator from Abia North, has come under fire from entertainer and social media star Charles Oputa, better known online as Charly Boy, for his group’s support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
Kalu reportedly wore an attire with the words “Tinubu for President 2027” on it when he attended Tuesday’s senate session.
Kalu called his outfit a “open endorsement” of President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in an interview with reporters at the National Assembly.

“Do you see what I’m wearing?” he asked. You can tell what dress I’m wearing if you look at it.

This is the presidential endorsement. The Southeast Caucus is completely in favor of it, and my clothing is tailored to it well.
According to the senator, several people have already adopted the campaign costume.

“I’m not just the first person wearing it; people are already wearing it,” Kalu stated.

Charly Boy, who shared a photo of Kalu on Instagram, called the lawmaker a clown. “The lawmaker has elevated sycophancy to a new level,” he said.

“Look at this clown,” he wrote. This is a Tufiakwa issue; some of them my yeye worthless Igbo brethren have elevated sycophancy to a new level. Fathers’ Dia. There are criminals everywhere… Could someone please respond?

The Senate’s deputy president, Barau Jibrin, has called on Nigerians to back President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to develop the country.
“President Tinubu’s two years were characterized by tremendous growth across all sectors,” Senator Jibrin stated.
In a statement released on Thursday, the senator from Kano North reportedly called Tinubu a visionary leader.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) urged Nigerians to offer prayers for the president and the country’s leaders.

The National Assembly would continue to back Tinubu’s ideas in his endeavor to create a new country, Jibrin further promised.
“I join all Nigerians and lovers worldwide in congratulating His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the administration’s second anniversary,” it said.

The process of reviving Nigeria’s illustrious past has begun under the capable direction of President Tinubu, the leader of our time. It’s still being developed.

“The National Assembly will keep helping His Excellency carry out his Renewed Hope Agenda and build on the progress made over the past two years.

“Therefore, I urge Nigerians of all faiths to keep praying for our leaders and the welfare of our nation, and to fully support President Tinubu as he rebuilds our beloved country for peace and socioeconomic prosperity.”

Elon Musk Condemns $4 Trillion Spending, Bows Out of U.S. Government Role

Elon Musk has publicly disagreed with his erstwhile ally for the first time, criticizing Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill Act” as a threat to the nation’s financial stability.
Musk, who is renowned for leading SpaceX and Tesla, reportedly expressed worries that the law will worsen the deficit and jeopardize the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) efforts to cut government spending.
In an interview with CBS News, Musk, a longtime Trump admirer and significant contributor to his 2024 reelection campaign, spoke out against the enormous spending plan.

In the interview, which was broadcast on Tuesday, Musk criticized the law for perhaps making the country’s budget imbalance worse.

Musk expressed disappointment about the hefty spending bill, saying it undermines the work being done by the DOGE team and actually deepens the budget deficit. The DOGE, which Musk had led, was in charge of cutting government expenditures, including firing thousands of federal workers.

Musk also discussed the conflict between the bill’s massive spending and his attempts to reduce unnecessary government spending. Musk had previously participated in Trump’s government efficiency initiatives.

In my opinion, a bill can be either large or exquisite. However, I am uncertain if it can be both. The whole interview will air on Sunday. Musk said, “That’s my personal opinion.”

The package, which passed the US House of Representatives last week and is now headed to the Senate, has substantial spending and tax savings in addition to provisions that opponents claim may severely impair healthcare and increase the national deficit by $4 trillion over the course of the next ten years.

By stressing that the “Big Beautiful Bill” was not included in the yearly federal budget and that cuts to DOGE would need to be handled separately, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller helped the White House minimize any conflicts over government expenditure in response to Musk’s remarks.

Miller emphasized that a separate legislative process would be necessary for any reductions to the federal bureaucracy on Musk’s social media account, 𝕏.

Musk’s comments show his mounting annoyance at the difficulties he encountered while leading DOGE. The ingrained bureaucracy in Washington, D.C., was criticized by him, and he said that his own inexperience with the political climate in Washington made it harder to accomplish his goals.

“The situation with federal bureaucracy is much worse than I realized,” Musk said. Although I believed there were issues, it is, to put it mildly, a difficult task to try to make things better in Washington, DC.

Musk admitted that his efforts were not entirely successful, even though he oversaw the huge downsizing of government agencies and the termination of tens of thousands of workers.

Due to demonstrators targeting Tesla dealerships and even arsonists setting fire to some electric vehicles, his time with DOGE also had a detrimental effect on his enterprises, resulting in a decline in revenues.

Following his departure from DOGE, Musk returned to SpaceX, where he has encountered numerous obstacles in his attempts to colonize Mars. Tuesday saw the company’s prototype Starship explode over the Indian Ocean, marking the most recent of these mishaps.

After spending a large amount of his wealth—roughly $250 million—in favor of Trump, Musk declared last week that he will reduce his political expenditures in light of his involvement in politics and its effect on his personal riches.

Enugu Residents Stunned as Youths Unveil Ritual and Abduction Operations

Local youths accused prominent community member Ichie Millions, also known as Ezeani, of using his expansive compound for illegal activities, including rituals and kidnapping, causing chaos Tuesday in the otherwise peaceful Umumba Ndiagu community in Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State.
Ezeani, who had posed as a businessman, was allegedly a native physician with a sinister secret.
The self-described businessman Ezeani was accused of abducting people from his compound. The indigenous physician was accused of ritually burying victims alive in soak-away holes, including children and pregnant women.

The youths were astounded by what they discovered in Ezeani’s compound when they began their quest for the truth. The neighborhood was completely taken aback by the finding of bodies buried in soak-away holes.
The angry young people were shown looting Ezeani’s compound, including what looked to be his shrine, in a social media video that went viral. As the community learned of the horrific nature of his acts, the situation became more intense.

In a video that went viral, one of the young victims who only managed to escape Ezeani’s grasp described her terrifying ordeal. “My dad and I went to get firewood so we could fry our garri,” she recalled. When his soldiers arrived, my dad gave them his cutlass. They suddenly seized me and held me in a trench they had excavated. Fortunately, the Neighborhood Watch officers heard my sobs and came to my aid.

A neighborhood member can be heard discussing the discovery in another startling video, stating, “We have caught the killers.” They kill people. There are dead bodies within. Numerous people have been killed by them. They wanted to exploit a 13-year-old child that we recently rescued for ritual purposes.

Additionally, the video revealed that the young people had captured a suspect posing as a security guard that Ezeani had employed to secure his compound.

The incensed youngsters stripped this individual, who was recognized in the video, naked, bound him, and abandoned him in the courtyard. The man acknowledged that he frequently visited Ezeani’s home for ceremonial purposes, but he denied any role in the murders.

During his interrogation by the irate teenagers, the suspect, who called Ezeani “Daddy Ezeani,” said, “I came here as a businessman. It was left to make a water sacrifice for me after I had completed a few other sacrifices. I waited for everything to be completed for me. There are tasks to complete, but I’m not sure how he accomplished them. Here, however, they typically send the visitor on an errand. This place’s owner, Daddy Ezeani, instructed me to keep it safe and deter visitors.

Ezeani was apparently on the run and his whereabouts were unknown at the time of the finding. However, the neighborhood retaliated by burning his house and cars after the teenagers allegedly caught several of his wives.

Authorities Start a Manhunt for a Native Doctor Who Is Running Away

Bitrus Giwa, the police commissioner, is alleged to have authorized a manhunt for the fugitive native physician.

“Police operatives of the Enugu State Command, attached to the Umumba Division, in collaboration with Neighbourhood Watch personnel and vigilant community members, successfully rescued a 13-year-old girl (name withheld), allegedly kidnapped for ritual murder, at Umuojor village in Ishiagu community of Ezeagu Local Government Area,” in a statement released by the command’s spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe.

Additionally, three male suspects in the crime were apprehended as a result of the operation: Uche Kingsley Agumba, 33; Ilo Nweze Onyedikachi, 36; and Ejike Odinwankpa, 38. A famous member of the community and a native doctor, Levi Onyeka Obu, also known by his nicknames “Ezeani” and “E-Dey-Play-E-Dey-Show,” is the leading suspect. He fled the scene and is still at large.

Two decaying bodies—one male and one female—were found during the rescue in a concrete-sealed hole within an incomplete building that belonged to the escaping prime suspect and was used for terrible criminal operations as well as a shrine.

Investigations show that the suspects had recently killed the victims and buried them in the pit for ceremonial reasons, and that the rescued child had just been saved from the same fate before the prompt intervention.

“The buildings used for the criminal enterprise and owned by the fugitive prime suspect have been demolished by the Enugu State Government in accordance with its laws.

“The police officers, community people, and local security organizations that worked together to make the operation successful were complimented by Commissioner of Police CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, who visited the crime scene right away.

“With a strong resolve to see justice done, he has also instructed the Command’s Tactical Squads, Investigation and Intelligence Units, and others to step up efforts in locating the fugitive suspect and other fugitive accomplices.”

According to reports, the country’s biggest opposition party is feuding over the role of National Secretary.

The former governor chastised Damagum for his agreement with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

He concluded: “The acting chairman of the party has failed us, let’s call a spade a spade.”
When asked what he would do if given the chance, Suswam responded, “I would have done far better because I would not have entered into an agreement with the Minister of the FCT and then reneged on it.”

“I intend to reach an agreement in conjunction with stakeholders. The party is in an intensive care unit, and some people have survived. I believe that if the correct thing is done, which I doubt. “The majority of people no longer trust the party’s leadership.”

Sowore Criticizes Tinubu, Says He Has Failed as President

The African Action Congress (AAC)’s former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called President Bola Tinubu’s two years in government a failure.
According to Sowore, Nigerians have been subjected to hunger and misery under President Tinubu.
In a brief message posted on his 𝕏 Twitter, the AAC’s National Chairman allegedly charged Tinubu for ruining the country’s economy.

Tinubu destroyed the population’ purchasing power by pushing the exchange rate to ₦1,600, according to the human rights activist.

He drew attention to the President’s bad policies, such as the elimination of gasoline subsidies for low-income people while he finances the indulgences of the wealthy and the country’s widespread insecurity.
It stated: “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has become President for two years today.

“A man who spent two years building just thirty kilometers of the 700 kilometers of the Lagos-Calabar expressway is a failure.

“A man who pushed the conversion rate to ₦1,600 after meeting the other exchange rate at ₦400 is a failure!

“It is a failure of a man to have abolished the fuel subsidy for low-income individuals while continuing to feed dishonest lawmakers and government officials in the name of budget padding!

“A man who allowed Boko Haram to relocate to Kogi from Borno and Yobe is a failure.”

Public Fury as Students Take WAEC Exams in Total Darkness

Due to a lengthy delay in the distribution of exam papers, students in areas of Benue State were forced to write the objective section of their English exams on Wednesday night under harsh conditions, using phone torchlights and lanterns.
The afflicted applicants had already completed the essay component of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), but were kept waiting for many hours for the exam officer to arrive with the objective segment. The delays continued into the night, with some centers apparently finishing exams as late as 11:00 p.m.
A student from a secondary school in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, who sought anonymity, told Daily Post about the ordeal: “We waited for hours after submitting the essay. When the exam officer arrived, we had to write the objective portion using phone lights and lanterns. “It was incredibly stressful.”

Another candidate stated, “The exam officer did not provide any meaningful explanation for the delay.” He simply arrived, gave over the paperwork, and made no comment about why he was late.”

The late-night exams sparked concern among parents, who went to the schools after discovering that their children were still composing papers late into the night.

A clearly distraught parent in Owukpa expressed concern for the youngsters’ safety and well-being, saying, “This is a national disgrace.” How can youngsters be writing exams in the jungle, in the dark, at such a perilous time? Is this the way we intend to teach Nigeria’s future?

The security issues in the neighborhood exacerbated the problem. According to a local community leader in Owukpa, the test officer had to stay overnight due to safety concerns: “We had no choice but to let him sleep here.” It was already after 11 p.m., and nobody goes out at that time in this part of the country. The government needs to step in.”

According to reports, the abnormalities did not occur only in Ogbadibo. In numerous other regions of Benue, pupils did not receive the objective papers and are now required to write them the next morning, creating severe concerns about the test process’s integrity.

Military Arrests Four Pakistanis Over Alleged Boko Haram Links

Four Pakistani nationals have been detained by the Nigerian military on suspicion of engaging in terrorism-related operations, such as the trafficking of weapons and the training of rebel organizations in the northeastern region of the country.
At a briefing with defense media at the operational headquarters in Maiduguri on Wednesday, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, revealed the news.
Preliminary investigations showed that the foreigners were directly involved in transporting weapons and giving technical and tactical support to terrorist groups including the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram, Abubakar said.

“The threat posed by terrorist groups like ISWAP and JAS has significantly increased due to the infiltration of foreign mercenaries in the joint operations area,” he stated.
“It is instructive that four Pakistani nationals were recently arrested; preliminary investigations indicate that they deal in weapons and collaborate with terrorists.”

He clarified that the presence of these foreign agents has increased the region’s terrorist activities’ lethality and sophistication, allowing organizations to use more sophisticated strategies.

These strategies include the employment of military-style traps against troops, the creation of sophisticated improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and the use of drones for both monitoring and strikes.

In order to stop the growing threat of cross-border terrorism, General Abubakar emphasized the necessity of a concerted international effort.

To break up the networks enabling these threats, he urged governments in the region to cooperate, share intelligence, and conduct more monitoring.

“A prompt and well-coordinated response is necessary to address this concerning trend,” he stated. “Terrorists from Islamic State West Africa Province and Boko Haram are fighting the Nigerian government, not just the military.”

While investigations are ongoing, the military has not yet disclosed the identities of the Pakistani nationals who were arrested.
