APC LG Congress is held in September

0

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APCCaretaker )’s ExtraOrdinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has tentatively scheduled Local Government Congresses for the first week of September 2021.

Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, Secretary of the CECPC, announced the new timeline for the local government congress on Friday in Abuja.

The Secretary denied reports that the Caretaker Committee had suspended local government and state legislatures indefinitely.

Akpanudoedehe dismissed the reports, saying, “The CECPC has tentatively fixed LGA Congresses for the first week of September 2021.”

During the inauguration of Ward Congress Appeal Committees on Wednesday, the Secretary recalled that “official information from the party was that dates and guidelines for the LGA Congresses will be fixed after the Ward Congresses Appeal exercise, followed by due consideration of the Appeal Committee’s reports by the CECPC.”

“On behalf of CECPC Chairman Governor Mai Mala Buni, we assure our throngs of party supporters, members, and leaders of our unwavering commitment to credible, transparent, and participatory congresses leading to our great party’s National Convention.”

The party’s Ward Congress was held on July 31 in 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), while the exercise was canceled in Anambra, Bayelsa, and Zamfara states.

The National Secretariat received petitions from 14 states at the inauguration of Ward Congress Appeal Committees on Wednesday, while the party awaits reports from 12 states two weeks after the exercise.

Police Arrest Suspected Bank Hacker and BDC Operators in Connection with N1.868bn Scam

The Lagos State Police Special Fraud Unit apprehended a suspected internet scammer who hacked into the accounts of a first generation bank and defrauded the bank of N1.868 billion.
Femi Salau, the suspected hacker, and two accomplices, two bureau de change operators, were apprehended by the police special fraud unit.

Salau was arrested on suspicion of using a software to generate fictitious credits totaling N1,868,900,000, which he then deposited into the accounts of some of the bank’s customers.

Salau successfully made debits totaling N417,542,000 through online banking transfers to other banks, according to SFU spokesman Eyitayo Johnson on Thursday.

According to him, the affected banks petitioned the unit, which then contacted the Central Bank of Nigeria and Deposit Money Banks, whose customers were recipients of the fraudulent funds.

He stated that a significant amount had been recovered thus far.

“Officials from the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi, Lagos, have apprehended one Femi Salau, the kingpin of a syndicate that specializes in hacking into the servers of banks and corporate entities.

“The hacker, who demonstrated exemplary mastery of the cyber environment, was arrested after he hacked into a first generation bank’s Flex-Cube Universal Banking System,” he said.

“Using application software, he created fictitious credits totaling N1,868,900,000 on three of the bank’s customers’ accounts and successfully consummated debits totaling N417,542,000 through internet banking transfers to other banks.

“While acting quickly on a petition from the bank, the unit contacted the Central Bank of Nigeria and Deposit Money Banks, whose customers were beneficiaries of the fraudulent funds, and was able to salvage a significant amount,” he said.

The SFU stated that among the items recovered from Salau were an Apple laptop and an iPhone, and that he and the BDC operators who laundered the money would be charged as soon as the investigation was completed.

Johnson elaborated on the arrest, saying, “We had been on the trail of the hacker for a while.” He left the country, so we put him under surveillance and picked him up at the airport.

“Anderson Bankole, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the unit, arrested one of the BDCs operators in an Abuja bank while he was attending the IGP’s conference. In Lagos, the other BDC operator was apprehended.”

“The hacker was the last person we arrested,” he explained, “because we conduct our investigations from the bottom up.”

“As a result, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the unit scheduled a meeting with the Chief Compliance Officers and Heads of Technology/Information Security Departments of banks to brainstorm on the loopholes exploited by this suspect and how to counter similar hacks for the benefit of both the police and our economy’s banking sector.”

Gov Ortom, Herdsmen and Obsession with Buhari

0

BY ANDREW HWANDE

The governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, is indeed a brave man. The circumstances surrounding his elections as governor in 2015 under the umbrella of the All-Progressive Congress (APC) is a story for another day.

The question is, who is Samuel Ortom? A man with principles or a man without principles? These questions ran in my mind as a result of his recent posturing regarding the state of security in the county and the constant attack on the personality of President Muhammadu Buhari.

As a governor, don’t get me wrong; he has a right to say things the way he perceives them. However, I am not convinced that he has that right to turn the truth on its head, especially with the farmer/herders’ conflict in Benue State. I think this obsession with President Muhammadu Buhari started in 2018 when he sense possible defeat for the ticket of the APC for the gubernatorial elections on account of poor performance. And since then, all hell has been let loose, like President Muhammadu Buhari is the chairman of the APC.

I like to call a spade a spade. Governor Samuel Ortom is the most intellectually deficient individual to govern Benue state. He is uncouth; he is cunny, deceptive and highly skilled in divide and rule. I say all of these after a critical assessment of Benue State before he became governor and what is obtainable in the state six years after.

Workers are owed several months salaries; pensioners are languishing in abject poverty due to the non-payment of their pension and gratuity, there is a dearth of infrastructure, the educational and health sectors are in a deplorable state.

Most times, I wonder how and where he gets the guts to issue public statements castigating the federal government’s efforts in addressing the security challenges in the state. Is he mindful that his actions have led to an unprecedented level of poverty in the state and a factor for the frequent clashes between farmers/herders? Is he also mindful that his land grabbing drive and desire to take over the cattle ranching business in Benue and North Central could also be another factor why there seem not to be peace in Benue state?

Samuel Ortom is a typical example of a dirty politician that thrives in grandstanding. He is in my opinion only clever by his diversionary methodology from his atrocities. The recent one that got me wondering was when he said the Nigerian government didn’t go after Fulani militiamen as it went after Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho.

The governor said, “I see a lot of lack of commitment on the part of the Federal Government in ensuring that we have security in this country. I will give an example: recently, the Federal Government has demonstrated the capacity by going after Nnamdi Kanu, leading IPOB. I am told he was even arrested in a foreign land with the cooperation of Interpol and so on.”

In my opinion, this is quite a callous statement from the governor of a state. He should know better about the dynamics in the security sector and the government’s efforts in this regard. I am not surprised, to say the least, owing to the cantankerous nature of the governor and his penchant for sponsoring ethnic militias in Benue and some states in Northcentral.

The case of the late notorious militia leader in Benue State, Terwase Akwaza, aka Gana, who met his end on his way to a reception put together by the governor in Markurdi, the state capital, indeed calls to questions on the sincerity of Governor Samuel Ortom in addressing the security challenges in the state. It is also baffling how a governor can throw caution into the wind in categorising the Fulani ethnic group. This is also a story for another day.

I would, at this point, advise Governor Samuel Ortom to come out and tell the world that all the noise he has been making about Fulani herders is to give a dog a bad name to hang it. He must also say to the world how much of Benue money he has invested in cattle rearing. To consolidate his grip on the business in the North Central, he must do all to paint the herders in a bad light and also pitch the people against them.

This is the summation of it all and the obsession of governor Samuel Ortom with herders and President Muhammadu Buhari. And against what he has made the unsuspecting members of the general public believe. But for how long does he intend to continue in this deceit? As funny as this might sound, the governor recently commissioned a borehole as his capital project. In an attempt to divert attention from the backlash, he brought a new dimension to the security situation and tried to lump Igboho and Kanu’s arrest as a most suitable topic, and not the fact that he cannot govern Benue state.

For Governor Samuel Ortom, it’s one day, one lie. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the attacks on farmers in Benue state were planned by his team to attract public sympathy and divert attention from his crass ineptitude. Governor Samuel Ortom is a man without principles. After all, he is a professional driver with a Diploma in Salesmanship. Such a man cannot be circumspect in his public conduct.

Federal Government spends N122 billion on the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine

0

On Thursday, the federal government provided an update on its efforts to combat the COVID-19 epidemic in the country, stating that it has spent N122 billion on Johnson & Johnson vaccines for the general public.

It did say, however, that the number of delta variant cases reported so far across the country did not require a lockdown like the one that occurred after the pandemic last year.

The government took notice of the physicians’ ongoing strike, which began at the beginning of the month under the auspices of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), and threatened to implement the “no work, no pay” policy if they did not return to work.
Meanwhile, the cholera outbreak is said to have spread to 22 states, infecting 31,000 individuals and killing 816 people.

Dr Faisal Shuiab, Executive Director/CEO of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), said the federal government has procured over 29 million single dose of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in order to further combat the spread of the disease in the country (over N122 billion).
He claimed that this would allow the country to vaccinate 70% of the population who were eligible.

According to him, the 177,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines that arrived in the country on Monday were part of a total of 29 million doses that the government had procured.

“Lockdown is a very, very last measure that countries are taking, because lockdown stifles economic activity, restricts your own freedom, and your business – corporate business, government business, private business – all are affected,” said Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, while speaking on the third wave of Covid-19 caused by the delta variant.

“As a result, it’s not something you can do casually. And, of course, we learned a lot of lessons when we were forced to have that lockdown at the start. You know, back then, the government gave palliatives to help people cope with the effects; if they couldn’t go to market, they couldn’t do business. However, this is not the government’s goal. A lockdown is something that no government likes to do. In places where they have faced a real danger, such as the United Kingdom, they have had to implement what is known as a precision lockdown. In reality, Israel recently declared that it is implementing a lockdown, although it is not a generalized lockdown, but rather a targeted lockdown of specific places.

“Many countries use what is known as precision lockdown to ensure that not everyone is affected, but only particular areas are, in order to avoid too much economic and social harm. And we are not yet to the point where we feel the need to go into lockdown mode. And, as I speak to you, several countries are on some form of lockdown. If my memory serves me well, at least six or seven countries are implementing some type of lockdown. Right now, we don’t have that on the table.”

Under the auspices of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), the minister also used the forum to appeal to striking doctors, saying that going on strike in the middle of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the arrival of the Delta variant, cholera outbreaks in 22 states, and Marburg virus (similar to Ebola) outbreaks, was not only dangerous but unconscionable.

If the physicians continued on continuing their strike, he said the federal government would not hesitate to implement the International Labour Organization’s “No Work, No Pay” principle, emphasizing that they would not be compensated from tax payers’ money for doing nothing.
He also denied threatening to fire resident doctors, who have been on strike since August 2 over alleged bad working conditions, explaining that all of his interactions and conversations thus far have been to persuade them to end their strike.

Ehanire went on to say that the physicians’ strike was not a suitable moment for them to go on strike.
“We’re on strike for the third time this year,” he said. That is not acceptable. We’ve made an appeal to them. We’ve been holding lengthy discussions with young doctors to explain to them that they, too, have a responsibility to their country.

“Every country in a difficult circumstance should recognize that accountability rests with all of us; if you have an issue or a grudge, talk about it. If we can’t fix it right now, let’s keep talking about it until we come up with a solution, but don’t stop working.

“I believe Nigeria is the only country in the world today where doctors are refusing to work in the face of a national security threat. So that’s what we’ve suggested. There hasn’t been any danger. Nobody made any threats. All we’re doing is pleading. We’re all doctors who went through the same residency program.

“We’re saying now isn’t the time; let’s keep talking about it.” Do not endanger people’s lives. That’s what the Labour Minister and the Health Minister have been saying. Nobody has been threatened in any way.”

“Yes, but that’s a regular thing,” the minister remarked when reminded of the threats of no work, no pay. That is the suggestion of the International Labour Organization (ILO), which states that if you did not work, why would you take… Your wage is paid using public funds.

“So, why should you be paid if you didn’t work, because if that’s the case, you can be encouraged to stay at home for six months and your paycheck comes from public funds, from taxpayers’ money, when you haven’t done anything for the community?”

“So, no work, no pay isn’t just a government regulation; it’s explicitly written in the International Labour Organization that if you don’t work, if you haven’t provided any service, you can’t expect regulation, because you can’t go to the market and buy anything for nothing. You must put something down, work must be put down.

“You can’t just go to the market and take anything you want without paying for it. As a result, if you labor, you will be compensated. We also believe that the government should fulfill its commitments to pay what has been agreed upon. We’ve stated that we’ll press for it, and we’re working with the salaries and wages commission and the head of service to do so, as well as paying all insurance dues.

“However, we cannot go against the ILO’s recommendation to pay individuals who do not work. I mean, I believe you can defend that viewpoint in front of God and man, but there are no threats. These young doctors are professionals, but they are also young people, whom we must mentor and treat to the best of our abilities.

“So, the strike isn’t something we want right now. We’d want to use this platform once more to ask doctors to return to work, and we’d like to bargain. That is something we can accomplish as a group. The Ministry of Health assists them in a variety of ways. But part of the issue is that some of their grievances, or demands, are directed at state governments rather than the federal government. So, why go on a statewide strike if the state government has not paid some people’s salaries?

“We say if you want to talk to the state, I’ll back you up and make an appeal to the state. Seven of the original 12 requests they made were connected to the government. Because they are not federal, the federal government cannot compel a state to pay you a specific salary. However, many of the issues that concern us at the federal level aren’t even related to the Ministry of Health.

“However, we support them and believe that a strike is not an effective tool to deploy. And especially when the country’s health is in jeopardy, when people may volunteer to work in other countries. Now is not the time to discontinue your own service. And I believe we will continue to urge young doctors not to use strike as a tool, especially at a time when the country is in desperate need of help.”

Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, Director General of the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), explained that recent delays in the use of moderna vaccines donated by the US were due to laboratory testing, where some insignificant quantities had bar-coding errors that had to be sorted.

According to her, NAFDAC has been working around the clock to rectify minor issues that had nothing to do with vaccine quality, and that 12,000 Nigerians experienced mild side effects during prior vaccination campaigns.

Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director General of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), stated the latest cholera outbreak had now spread to 22 states across the federation, with over 31,000 individuals sick and 816 deaths.

Nigerian Embassy in London has been shut down after personnel tested positive for Covid-19

Two Nigerian officials tested positive for covid-19 on Thursday, forcing the Nigerian Mission in London, United Kingdom, to close for ten days.

One of the Nigerian officials had gone to the UK Home Office for a meeting, when a test showed his status, prompting the Mission to test other members of staff, resulting in yet another positive case.

Following the event, the Mission announced that it will close for the next 10 days, in accordance with COVID-19 regulations and the requirement to follow the host country’s norms and regulations, in order to respect the obligatory isolation of individuals who had contact with the afflicted authorities.

“This afternoon, the Head of Immigration Section and two other employees left for a meeting at the Home Office,” the Mission stated in a statement headed ‘Closure of Nigerian High Commission, London.’

“At the entry, they were given a Covid test, and one of them tested positive for COVID-19. The officer who was infected was placed on leave immediately, while the other officials who tested negative were likewise placed on leave for the next ten days.

“In response to this challenge, the Mission began testing all of its officials, following which one of the Mission’s officials tested positive.

“In accordance with COVID-19 regulations and the requirement to follow the host country’s norms and regulations, the Mission will be closed for the next 10 days to allow for the obligatory isolation of anyone who had contact with the impacted authorities.

“While the High Commission regrets any inconvenience this may have caused, we ask for the public’s assistance.”

Ughegbe is on a mission to demolish our institution – Premiere academy

…my school tried to bribe me – Ughegbe

Mr Kayode Akintunde, a director of Premiere Academy Abuja, has praised the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for probing the circumstances surrounding Karen Happuch’s death, calling it a “good step.”

“The decision of the “NHRC” to take over the investigation into the Karen Happuch rape case is a welcome development because it is becoming clearer that the leader of the center for gender based violence respondents, Mr Lemmy Ughegbe, is more interested in destroying the Premiere Academy than what he professes,” he said.

“We are mourning the death of one of our students and are looking for ways to unravel the circumstances that led to her death so that the perpetrator can be identified and punished, but Mr Ughegbe just came in, berating the school administration, the police, and the DSS, and even alleging that armed thugs came to his house, threatening his and his family’s lives.”

“No one is thrilled about the unfortunate incident,” Akintunde added, “but when I learned that Mr Ughegbe also operates a school in our neighborhood here in Lugbe, I questioned if this man should understand how the management feels when something like this happens.” Is he trying to demolish the school so that he can expand his own? “Do you have to destroy people in order to grow?”

Ughegbe “labeled the school as a den of rapists, with the school authority covering the criminals,” he claimed, but how can one construct such a high-profile school and engage in such immoral behavior?

“Our goal here is to develop trustworthy future leaders. Mr Ughegbe should fear God, this blackmail is more than enough.” Premiere Academy has produced remarkable people who are flourishing in their many fields of endeavor over the past 15 years.

Ughegbe was instructed by Akintunde to “present the NHRC with whatever evidence he has.” Stop going from one television station to the next in his new celebrity status and the financial rewards that may come with it, and let the law take its course, with the perpetrator revealed and punished.”

Ughegbe, on the other hand, denied the allegations, claiming that the school offered him a bribe, which he declined.

However, in an exclusive interview with Blueprint, the licensed CSO advocate refuted the claim, stating that it is his responsibility to be concerned about children’s issues.

During the interview, Mr. Ughegbe, the founder of the Men Against Rape Foundation and Making a Difference Initiatives, offered his side of the tale.

He claimed that the school administration attempted to bribe him through one Mr Wale Daudu in order to bury the issue, but that he turned down the offer, preferring that the poor girl be given justice.

“Wale was ordered to ask him to name my award in order to halt the planned gathering to demand justice for the victim,” Ughegbe alleged.

NSCDC issues licenses to 24 private security organizations and is looking for information on offenders.

0

Dr Ahmed Audi, the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has issued operational licenses to 24 private security businesses in Abuja.

He stated that the Corps was dedicated to eradicating quackery in the private security industry and sanitizing the system for effective security service delivery, complementing government agencies’ efforts to address current security concerns.

The CG reprimanded the operators to regard the license as an opportunity to assist nip crime in the bud in the country when presenting the licenses to the successful enterprises.

The CG enjoined the firms to collaborate with security agencies to provide actionable and accurate intelligence needed to deal with the country’s current security challenges, according to a statement by NSCDC spokesman Shola Odumosu on Thursday titled, “NSCDC issues 24 operational licences to private guards companies.”

“As stakeholders in the protection of lives and property, let us join hands to safeguard our future and that of future generations, and to make our country better and safer because, without a doubt, a secure environment will engender socio-economic development of the country,” Audi is quoted as saying.

He stated that the Corps has reached an agreement to make its training facilities available to private security organizations for the training, capacity building, and manpower development of its personnel.
The operators were admonished by the Corps to avoid any corrupt tendencies and not to yield to any sort of pressure or negative influence that could jeopardize their companies’ integrity.

“On the issue of guard welfare, Dr Audi charged the operatives to ensure that they are paid their salaries and all entitlements as and when due, to avoid any form of compromise, stressing that if security providers are not well remunerated, such guards are easily lured with money or any juicy offer by criminals,” according to the statement.

Chairman of Pareto Smartwork Nig. Ltd, Amb Godwin Umoh, spoke on behalf of the operators and praised the NSCDC head for the quick and open screening procedure.

He went on to say that technology should be used in security management since “human intelligence cannot be completely relied upon, especially where personnel is woefully inadequate.”

Youtuber who had been imprisoned for criticizing Apostle Suleman’s’money miracle’ has been released.

0

The Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has released a Youtuber, Israel Balogun, who was previously detained on criminal defamation and cyberstalking charges leveled against him by Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International.

Remember that the 38-year-old was held after being quizzed by police on Wednesday and granted strict bail terms.

Balogun had spent the night with the cops.

But, speaking to the press today in Abuja, his lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, announced the Youtuber’s release following a 24-hour imprisonment.

During a Facebook livestream, the Youtuber was also spotted standing next to the lawyer.

“Finally, we have Mr Israel Balogun here with us,” Effiong remarked. He was recently released from the FCIID in Abuja following a petition submitted by Apostle Johnson Suleman. He had filed a complaint with the police and had him (Balogun) arrested on suspicion of cyber-stalking and defamation.

“He was held in detention for the night, which was unnecessary.”

Balogun shared clips of Suleman declaring to his congregation that angels will deposit money into their bank accounts on his Youtube channel.

The videos were taken during the cleric’s visits to Atlanta, Georgia, and Auchi, Edo State, where devotees displayed their phones to attest that they had received credit alerts in their bank accounts.

Balogun had criticized Suleiman and said the charges were bogus.

The Youtuber’s comments drew varied reactions on social media, with some praising him for his daring and others accusing him of seeking significance.

Suleman’s lawyer, Samuel Amune, said that the YouTuber went beyond the bounds of the law and freedom of expression by calling his client unprintable terms.

Balogun’s lawyer, meanwhile, stated on Thursday that his client did not defame Suleman and was simply exercising his “right to freedom of expression.”

“We are not afraid of going to court, we are not afraid of prosecution; we are not afraid of the powers of the state because my client is on the side of the law,” Effiong said, adding that for “a man of God” to stand on the pulpit and command Angels to credit money into people’s accounts is a statement of falsehood.

Effiong requested Suleman to order Angels to credit the Federal Government’s accounts “to aid the country.”

“The administration is facing numerous issues; even paying salaries is currently a problem, and the government must rely on China to complete projects. So, if we have an Apostle in Nigeria who can command Angels to credit people’s accounts, why can’t he do the same for the country’s accounts?” the lawyer wondered.

FG: We’re working hard to reduce unemployment

0

Despite limited resources, Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, says the Federal Government is working relentlessly to lower the number of unemployed youngsters in the country.

Dare, when asked about the rising jobless rate among young Nigerians in the six years after President Buhari took office, said that economic resources were running out, and that the youths needed to be patient.

The minister appeared on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” show today on the occasion of International Youth Day.

“This government has attempted to shift the basics of youth involvement from simply empowering our youngsters to investing in them, and that is the paradigm we see in the international community because our youths are investible,” he said.

Read also: Okorocha’s application to stop the EFCC and the Imo government from seizing his properties was denied by the court.

“Without making excuses, it comes down to resources; we’ve seen the government’s resources shrink over time. When you travel to other nations where unemployment has stabilized for a while, you will notice that it is a collective effort on the side of the government, private collaborations, and international non-governmental organizations.

“You will see government attempting to allocate resources, competing resources, on our part. It is a massive country with a population of 210 million people. The youth make up a significant portion of this population. But we’re also attempting a refocus that emphasizes skills over diplomas – vocational and technical skills, which are the future of respectable jobs.

“That is why, right now, the focus is on ensuring that we provide our youths with the digital skills they require to compete; even if you travel out of the nation as a Nigerian youth, you would need digital skills to compete.

“We will have to wait and see because resources are running out, but we are making concerted efforts to reduce unemployment in our country.”

Insecurity: Matawalle believes that dialogue and reconciliation are the way forward

0

Governor Bello Matawalle thinks the most viable answers to banditry and other security concerns are discussion and reconciliation.

Matawalle told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja today that since taking office as governor, he has seen a lot of progress in terms of bandit dialogue and reconciliation.

Following the adoption of conversation with the bandits, he claimed that the state had experienced a year with no bandit attacks.

He claimed that insecurity was the country’s main issue, particularly in the northwestern region, where gunmen may attack at any time.

“As I previously stated, the issue of insecurity is not simply one man’s problem; it is a problem that affects all of us.

“Whether you’re a security officer, a regular citizen, or someone else, what matters is that we all band together and take this issue seriously.

“Since I took over as governor of Zamfara, we have accomplished a lot that we hadn’t done in the previous six years.

“This was accomplished because I encouraged everyone to participate and topics were discussed,” says the author.

“Political leaders, traditional institutions, and other security heads were invited as stakeholders.

“We put our heads together, which is why we started the conversation and reconciliation process with the bandits, which has brought a lot of results in the state.

“To create a peaceful country, every state must adopt this initiative,” he stated.

Matawalle stressed that the issue of insecurity requires everyone to work together to develop long-term solutions.

Other sections of the country, he suggested, will need to join in on this endeavour.

“I believe it will work for us if we join together as one and have a united stance.

“We’ve been talking between ourselves, and I can guarantee you that we’ll have a long-term solution to this problem very soon.

“I also want to remind Nigerians that God does not make mistakes, and he created the country for us to coexist.

“Let’s figure out what the problem is first, that is, let’s figure out what’s at the core of this problem, and then we’ll know how to address it.”

“Nigeria is a highly varied country; you can’t just come in and say, ‘Let’s break out.’ It’s impossible!

“What we’ll do is figure out how to comprehend ourselves as a group.

“If you come to my village, you will see Igbo people with their shops, and the Yoruba will do the same.

“They have a lot of stuff for sale in my apartment. We’ve already become one.

“All we have to do now is sit down and figure out what the problem is.

“This is preferable to saying we should split,” he remarked.
