Teachers, students, and other allied staff were praised by the Ebonyi State Government for the success of the monitoring and supervision of schools as they reopened on Monday.
Sunday Nwangele, the State Commissioner for Education, expressed his delight at the large turnout of teachers, students, and other allied staff in various schools.
“I have observed that Ebonyi people love education, as am talking you, today is the first day of school resumption for 2022 second term in the State, both public, private and faith-based schools have uniformly complied to the directive of school resumption”
“Ebonyi State has achieved uniform school calendar which implied that all schools both public, private and faith-based must open on the same day, go for a midterm break on the same day and as well close the same day and results of students should be distributed to them as well.“
The Commissioner expressed gratitude to Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi for approving the hiring of more teachers to ensure optimal performance.
Furthermore, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Elder Sunday Okike, expressed delight at the teachers’ and students’ compliance.
Okike expressed gratitude to the Ebonyi State Government, led by Engr David Umahi, for creating an enabling environment for education emancipation in the state.
“Our Teachers, Students and non-tutorial staff are wonderful, even without force or threat of punishment, they all turned out en mass to do their statutory roles of teaching and learning,“ Okike said.
He did, however, condemn the actions of a few schools that were not as numerous as expected. He urged a few students who were still at home to return to class right away.
As a result, the Ministry’s Director of Quality Assurance, Barrister Tony Ngwuta, encouraged both teachers and students to be steadfast in everything they do.
Barrister Ngwuta has urged the government and the Parents Teachers Association to renovate some school structures.
On behalf of others, Mrs Nnenna Obasi, Principal of Abakaliki High School PRESCO, and Mr Gabriel Udu, Principal of Holy Ghost Foundation Secondary School, promised to work harder for the glory of God and the betterment of their students.
Elom God’s Time of Abakaliki High School PRESCO and Amarachi Nweke Annachi of St. Patrick Primary School promised to be obedient students on the part of the students.
Central School Nkwegu, Community Secondary School Amuzu, Federal Science School Ezza South, Oshiri Secondary School, Uburu Primary and Secondary School; Holy Ghost Foundation Schools, Abakaliki High School PRESCO, St. Patric Primary School and Model Secondary School, and Oferekpe Primary School Agbaja, to name a few, were among the schools visited.
