Insecurity: Collaborative Efforts With Neighboring States Effective – Bello

Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has praised the effectiveness of collaborative efforts with neighboring states to combat insecurity in the North Central states.

He stated this at the first expanded security meeting in 2022, which brought together all 17 graded chiefs in the territory to review the year 2021 and look ahead to 2022.

“And this is one aspect that we will continue to improve on,” he says, “because that is where all the security agencies within the FCT and their counterparts in neighboring states that make up the G7 states: the FCT, Benue, Kaduna, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau.”
“Overall, we appreciated all of the agencies’ efforts, and despite what happened here and there in rural communities, we are pleased with the efforts.”

“And we identified areas where we will provide them with additional assistance, and we intend to do so,” Bello said.

In other news, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that 593 polling units in the FCT have no registered voters, 1,328 polling units have between 0 and 50 registered voters, and 546 polling units have over 1,000 registered voters.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of INEC, made the announcement at the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Expanded Stakeholders Security Meeting on Thursday in Abuja.

The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, invited the INEC boss to the meeting so that he could brief FCT stakeholders on preparations for the Area Councils Election on February 12.
Yakubu stated that the commission had already informed political parties, civil society organizations, the media, and national security agencies of the development.

He stated that INEC had decided that no election would be held in polling units without the presence of registered voters.

He went on to say that no materials had been produced for those units, and that no personnel would be sent to them.

However, Yakubu stated that voting would take place in all other polling units, noting that INEC would deploy more than one BVAS in congested polling units to expedite voter accreditation.

He also stated that INE would send more personnel to those locations, and that the commission had agreed with security agencies to send more personnel to maintain peace and order.

According to him, the commission is providing hard copies of the details locations of these polling units to all stakeholders at this meeting in order to ensure transparency.

“Soft copies of the documents have also been uploaded to our website.” We hope to accomplish two goals by doing so.

“The first step is to make sure that voters in the FCT, and indeed all Nigerians, are aware of these polling units and the arrangements that have been made for them on election day.

“Second, to enlist the help of all stakeholders to ensure that these polling units are filled in time for the general election in 2023.”

“In this regard, we need the support of traditional, community, and religious leaders in particular,” the INEC chairman said.

Yakubu, who emphasized the importance of peace for the success of the area council elections, assured that INEC would safeguard the process’ integrity.

“We are keeping a close eye on all of our officials, whether they are adhoc or regular employees, to ensure that they follow the rules to the letter. All political parties, candidates, and supporters should follow suit.”

Sanwo-Olu Slammed For Speaking With Two Out -Of -School Girls With Bucket Of Water On Their Heads

On social media, Nigerians chastised Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for speaking with two out-of-school girls in Anthony Village while they carried heavy buckets of water on their heads.
At around 11 a.m., the Governor stopped his convoy on his way to an official function along Anthony Village for a brief chat with the girls who were on an errand for a bean cake vendor during school hours, according to Naija News.

The Governor had come to a halt in his convoy to inquire about their absence from school.

Amarachi Chinedu, 9, and Suwebat Husseini, 12, both told him that their parents couldn’t afford tuition.

According to reports, he discovered their parents and promised to take full responsibility for the girls’ upbringing and education.

“This morning (Thursday), I had firsthand experience of what many vulnerable children in our society may be going through. On my way to this function, I saw something that made my heart bleed,” he explained.

“I was able to hear their stories because of my encounter with them, and I have taken it upon myself to ensure that these girls do not suffer the same fate again.” I’m not going to abandon them.

“Amarachi and Suwebat will resume their studies. This is a classic example of what we as a society need to do differently. It is unnecessary to inquire as to what brought their parents to Lagos in the first place. We must ensure that their future is not jeopardized.

“These two girls will be in my and the first lady’s care. There are a number of Amarachi and Suwebat who will not be able to take advantage of this opportunity. We can all make the same decision and listen to the stories of vulnerable children.
“We can all make a difference if we choose to take on this responsibility as a people and give voice to the vulnerable.” Giving mankind a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is the greatest act of kindness.” Governor Sanwo Olu made the announcement to the press.

Netizens reacted angrily to the video, accusing the Governor of speaking to the girls while they were still wearing buckets on their heads.

‘Put the heavy bucket down from their head before interrogating them,’ Morris-Monye wrote.

NICK CANNON APOLOGIZES TO HIS BABY MAMA

Nick Cannon has apologized to his children’s mothers for failing to “protect” and “respect” their privacy. He recently announced that he is expecting his eighth child.

Alyssa Scott, Zen’s mother, posted an Instagram message on Monday, thanking supporters for their well-wishes, just hours after Cannon’s announcement.

She said in a statement, “I am centered, I am at peace.” “With loving eyes, I look at everyone’s situation.” I am not going to pass any judgment. I’ll make an informed decision about what I’ll do. There is a lot of love around me. “Thank you, God, for my mother, father, sister, brother, and daughter.”

On Thursday’s episode of “The Nick Cannon Show,” the TV host apologized for how he handled the announcement, claiming that he may have said too much unintentionally.

“I misspoke on Monday and probably went into too much detail expressing my feelings, and it probably appeared as if I was making some comparisons when talking about the death of my son Zen and then also talking about the new child I’m expecting,” he said.

“I know it seems awkward because people are trying to figure out the timing and all that,” he explained. “We lost a child, and the situation is still genuine and real.”

“I’m in love with her.” “I’ll always love my son Zen,” Cannon continued. “And I’m going to adore my new baby.” I am a responsible human being who accepts full responsibility for all of my actions. As a result, I must express my sincere regret to everyone involved for any additional pain or confusion I may have caused.”

“I didn’t have to do that because those are two completely different moments in my life that both deserve respect,” Cannon continued.

The TV host went into great detail about how long he had been aware of the pregnancy. He also talked about how he decided not to share the information because he and Zen’s mother, Alyssa Scott, were still mourning their child’s death.

Zen died at the age of two months from a diagnosed fast-growing tumor in his brain, according to Cannon. Cannon went on to say that he and Scott decided against using chemotherapy to treat the tumor.

Cannon said on Thursday that he wants to do better in the future when it comes to “delicate and sensitive discussions.”

The TV personality is also a parent to his 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey; his 4-year-old son, Golden, and 11-month-old daughter, Powerful, with Brittany Bell; and his 5-month-old twins, Zion and Zillion, with Abby De La Rosa.

Air Peace resumes direct flights to Dubai on march 1

0

Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, has announced that on March 1, 2022, it will resume direct scheduled flights to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This comes as the airline prepares to expand its West Coast presence by beginning service to Niamey, Niger, on February 25, 2022, and Kinshasa and Malabo in the first quarter of 2022.

The airline’s management made the announcement in a news release sent to journalists on Friday, stating that Lagos-Dubai-Lagos flights will operate three times weekly from any of the airline’s domestic routes via its Lagos hub.

“We are pleased to inform the flying public that, in keeping with our commitment to increase flight connectivity and meet Nigerians’ air travel needs, we are resuming operations in the United Arab Emirates, but with Dubai as the destination rather than Sharjah.” We are grateful to the Nigerian government for its critical role in making this possible,” Air Peace stated.

“We shall commence scheduled flights to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Malabo in Equatorial Guinea, to enlarge our footprints in West Africa and offer the flying public more network options,” the airline stated, adding that Niamey flights will operate from Abuja and Kano on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays with the Hopper jets.

Since July of this year, Air Peace has been operating scheduled commercial flights into the UAE.

According to the statement, the airline will continue to improve its service delivery to meet and exceed the expectations of air travelers, particularly with the launch of its ambitious fleet modernization program and a renewed commitment to providing an unparalleled customer experience.

The Federal Government has also designated Air Peace to fly to other international destinations such as Guangzhou, China, Delhi, India, the United Kingdom, and Houston, Texas.

Air Peace operates a modern fleet of 34 aircraft, including five brand new E195-E2s and five Airbus 320s, with 20 domestic routes, six regional routes, and two international destinations.

Why “side-chicks” are still in business_ Benin resident

According to some residents in Benin, the capital of Edo State, some men will continue to keep mistresses, also known as’side chicks,’ because of their perceived benefits and strong grip.

The submission of the respondents stems from the increasing reports of infidelity among men, particularly celebrities and those in high positions in society.

Some men in Benin told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday that wives will never be able to compete with side-chicks in terms of allure, attention to detail, and romantic proclivity.

Mr. Ojefia King, a businessman, revealed that most men have side-chicks for entertainment purposes.

According to him, side-chicks should not expect much from a man, whether married or single, other than trips and sex.

“Some side-chicks go after wealthy men, while others do it to meet their own needs,” he explained.

Also, according to Mr. Larry Sideso, a disc jockey, men are drawn to side-chicks because they are less stressed and always obedient and understanding of their needs and desires.

“I’m married, and I have a sidekick; she knows her place, and she doesn’t cross any lines.”

“My wife knows about my sidekick.”

“As I previously stated, everyone knows their place. I don’t have a variety of ladies. My only companions are my wife and a sidekick.

“I’m in love with my wife.” “I won’t trade her for anything, but my sidekick is only there to help,” he explained.

Mrs Ivie Idolor, a teacher, agreed that side-chicks were always responding to nature’s call for men.

“If you look at men’s creation closely, you’ll notice that they have longer reproductive periods than women.”

“A man can impregnate a woman even if he is 75 years old, but a woman cannot give birth at that age.”

“Thus, a man’s sperm can produce many children, which simply means that when God said dominate and replenish the earth, he meant men’s responsibility to reproduce twice as much.

“Men can’t help themselves; hormones have programmed them to act in this way.” As a result, when a guy has had enough of his main chick, he moves on and forgets about her,” she explained.

Mr Richard Amekpa, a fashion designer, said that men had side-chicks to satisfy their sexual desires.

“In a relationship or marriage, love, care, romance, and sex are all very important.

“If a wife cannot satisfy her husband in that way, he will undoubtedly find someone else to fill her shoes.”

“To see the true beauty of a relationship, you must give it your undivided attention.”

“If a wife refuses to give her husband her undivided attention, she is begging for a side-chick,” he said.

Mr Isreal Osamuyi, a clergyman, however, advised men to raise their wives to the level of other women they admire.

According to Osamuyi, most women hardly took care of themselves because they were preoccupied with one or more needs.

“Women who are married and have children are always juggling a thousand and one responsibilities.

“As a result, there is little or no time to shop for clothes, apply makeup, go to bars, or hang out with friends.

“I am not in favor of men having side-chicks,” he said, “but if I really want to peep into their world by trying to understand why, I believe it is entirely due to insecurity.” (NAN)

Terrorists killed in Borno as result of massive airstrikes

Late Thursday, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) collaborated on massive airstrikes against the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP).

TELEVISION NIGERIAN has learned that several terrorists were killed in the villages of Abbaganaram, Bukar Mairam, and Jubularam in the nearby Marte district of Gamboru, Borno.

ISWAP is currently evacuating dead bodies, according to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama.

Despite Boko Haram/constant ISWAP’s attacks, troops remain unyielding on the battlefield.

During an operational visit to the MNJTF’s Headquarters 3 Battalion at Gamboru Ngala, a town on the Nigeria-Cameroon border, Force Commander Maj Gen Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim praised the security operatives.

MNJTF spokesman Col Muhammad Dole said in a statement from force headquarters in Ndjamena, Chad’s capital, that “the FC commended the Commander and his men for their hard work in holding their ground in spite of the repeated attacks by the BHTs/ISWAP.”

To eliminate terrorists near Lake Chad’s shores, the commander called for greater cooperation among troops, Civilian JTF, Vigilante, and hunters. He urged them to be more focused and to assist their commanding officer in clearing out the remaining insurgents.

MNJTF is a military cooperation effort between Nigerian, Cameroonian, Chadian, and Nigerien forces in the Lake Chad area to combat terrorist activities along the countries’ borders.

PDP ready to welcome Sanwo-Olu in 2023 if… party chieftain

Ganiu Taofik, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, says the party is ready to receive Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu if he wishes to run again in 2023.

In a chat on Thursday, Taofik revealed this.

According to the former PDP spokesman in Lagos, his party is a platform that provides the best form of governance to Lagosians.

“Recently, we had an All Progressives Congress chieftain, Olajide Adediran aka Jandol, decamp to the PDP with his group, Lagos4Lagos,” he said. This is because they have faith in the PDP and have seen how it is a superior platform.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu probably could have done a hundred percent more if he wasn’t in the APC because it’s a structural thing; the PDP in Lagos has a controlling leadership for sanity, morality, and service delivery, but the APC has a selfish leadership.” That is why Governor Sanwo-Olu is limited to his current actions.

“If Governor Sanwo-Olu is looking for a ticket to run again, we will give him the same opportunity as every other aspirant to run in the PDP primary.” In the PDP, everyone has a level playing field, unlike in the APC, where no one can become a councilor without the support of the leader.

“Every politician from the House of Assembly to the House of Representatives and others is covered by the PDP.”

There are indications that Sanwo-Olu wants to return for another four years as political maneuvering begins in earnest ahead of the 2023 elections.
“I believe we are doing a fantastic job, if I may say so.” When asked if he has any plans to run for office in the next election, Sanwo-Olu said, “I think the citizens know what they will be missing if they don’t let us continue to wrap up all of the things we are doing.”

Akinwunmi Ambode, the immediate past governor of Lagos State, urged youths to get their Permanent Voters Cards ahead of the 2023 general elections, as previously reported.

Ambode served as governor of Lagos from 2015 to 2019 but was defeated in the APC primary by Babajide Sanwo-Olu due to internal party squabbles.

Both Ambode and Sanwo-Olu are constitutionally allowed to run for another four-year term if the electorate so chooses.
