“I know some will say the National Assembly rejected gender bills. It’s democracy! Let us keep lobbying.

“We should keep lobbying because no one likes to be undermined. Lawan was quoted as saying this by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi.

There are no unmarried male members of the National Assembly, so every male member is a “He for She”.

‘If you can’t get something, if there is a failure, we should make it a political capital that tomorrow we say, you couldn’t do it yesterday, can you do it today?’ That will help us get over some of these roadblocks.

Senator Smart Adeyemi of Kogi State said his colleagues in the National Assembly were unaware that President Muhammadu Buhari had sanctioned the dismissal of APC caretaker committee Chairman Mai Mala Buni.

Following Buni’s medical treatment abroad, Niger State Governor Abubakar Bello assumed the chairmanship of the party.

Some believe Buni is being pushed out to ensure the party’s delayed convention happens this month.

Despite Governor Bello’s claims, a handover letter from Buni has surfaced.

Buni, who is also the Yobe State Governor, is expected to resume his Chairmanship duties after returning from medical treatment abroad.

Senator Adeyemi echoed pro-Buni sentiments on Politics Today.

“Mai Mala Buni wrote a letter saying he was traveling. And he did so in that letter to the Niger State Governor,” Senator Adeyemi said.

“We in the Senate are unaware that Mr. President ordered the acting Chairman to resign.”

People who have “one or more interests to protect” sparked the debate, Senator Adeyemi said.

”It’s just a game.” “Mai Mala Buni did an excellent job bringing back Governors, former Generals, and statesmen to the APC. So the APC has grown stronger. We owe him a debt of gratitude.

A General Court Marshall accused Flying Officer Baritore Enee of age falsification in 2019, and the Court of Appeal in Kaduna ordered the Nigerian Air Force to reinstate him.

Court upheld General Court Marshal of Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology’s lack of jurisdiction to convict Appellant who was serving at Engineering Group at the time of trial in landmark judgement by Justice Muhammad Baba Idris.

The officer appealed his conviction by the Air Force General Court Martial in Kaduna.

But on Thursday, Justice Idris upheld the appeal of Flying Officer Baritore Enee, who was dismissed by a General Court Martial in 2019 for allegedly lying about his age.

The Respondent failed to appoint a defense counsel for the Air Force officer, a violation of Order 25, rule (1)b and (c) of the rules of procedure, Air Force, 1972, according to Justice Idris.

In case No: NAF versus Flying Officer BA ENEE (NAF /4876 ) AFIT / 322/ HQ, Kaduna, the Court of Appeal held in Kaduna today set aside the Appellant’s conviction and sentence by the General Court Martial presided over by Group Captain RO Agbor ( NAF /2352).

“The General Court Martial erred in Law and acted without jurisdiction when it was convened by Commandant of Air Force Institute of Technology, instead of Commander, 431 Engineering Group, NAF, Kaduna, where the Appellant was serving at the time,” affirmed the Appeal Court.

Mubarak Sani Jibrin, the officer’s lawyer, praised the Presiding Judge’s decision, calling it “just and in line with rule of law and constitutional provisions of Armed Forces Acts.”

Buni, Other Black Legs In Corridors Of Power Tried To Supplant President’s Will -Akeredolu

Former Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) Chairperson Mai Mala Buni’s actions were described as an embarrassment by Ondo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Thursday.

He emphasized that APC deserved complementary responsibilities.

“With nostalgia, one can recall the moments of our struggle as compatriots from all walks of life enunciated and berthed Nigeria’s most ingeniously successful political network,” Akeredolu said in a statement signed in Akure, the state capital.

“To be honest, APC’s birth was unusual. The party’s ideological beacon was enticing.

“Undoubtedly, Mr President, who leads the APC-led administration, deserves the full support and responsibility of all stakeholders for his firm leadership, candour, and honesty.

“The APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) installation went beyond service. Our party’s Rule of Law had to be strengthened to instill discipline in leadership and cohesion among stakeholders.

The insidious and appalling events within the ruling party in recent months, especially under the previous leadership, posit a huge embarrassment, he said.

“The path taken recently by Governor Mai Mala Buni, the immediate past head of the CECPC and a select few is an unenviable trajectory undeserving of our dear party,” he said. It’s a sour tale.

“However, most APC Governors’ courage, determination, and sincerity of purpose remain a delight. Significantly, Mr. President’s quick response and action saved our great party from internal scavengers. We did survive a Civilian Coup fueled by malice and an insatiable desire for power.

As a major stakeholder in the latest successful Rescue Mission, I express my confidence in Governor Sanni Bello (ABU LOLO) to lead APC. Except for a few “Yahoo, Yahoo” Governors (apologies to Salihu, former DG of the Progressive Governors’ Forum), we Governors are for the party.

“We, the true Progressive Governors, are determined to see our Party through these rough patches.

“None of the small group has the guts to carry out the sponsored stories’ fictitious threats. We dare them to leave. In order to supplant the President’s will, they used fake letters, endorsements, and a ‘Black Market’ injunction (procured since November 2021) to arm twist Governor Buni.

The clear motive to frustrate our national convention has been foiled, and our dear party is on the rise. Gov. Sanni Bello, ABU LOLO, keep going; you have our support. You will have our full support at the National Executive Committee meeting on March 17, 2022”.

Buni: Group carpets Gov El- Rufai over false claims on CECPC Chairman’s conduct

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Integrity Group has accused Governor Nasir El-Rufai of misleading party faithful and laying false claims against the chairman, Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Governor Mai Mala Buni.

The group said the governor is orchestrating a well-thought plot to sabotage Governor Buni’s efforts for his vice-presidential ambition.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Secretary-General, Patriot Adams Abel, described the Kaduna State Governor as a dictator who is all about his selfish interest and can go to any length to accomplish his mission.

Abel rubbished El-Rufai’s claims that “President Buhari and 19 out of 23 APC Governors are in support of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to boot out Buni and the CEPCC scribe”.

The group also countered El-Rufai’s statement that Buni had been removed from his office.

Abel said “El-Rufai should be sufficiently schooled to accept that the APC is not Kaduna state that he governs by fiat. APC has organs that have layers of responsibility and at no time was the power to hire and fire a caretaker chairman outsourced to El-Rufai”.

The APC Integrity Group said the governor’s assertion that his Yobe State counterpart declined to swear in state executives were also not valid.

“El-Rufai claimed that Governors and President (Buhari) directed Governor Buni to swear in state Excos elected months ago and that he never followed the order; that the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) asked him to brief them, but he did not,” Abel added.

“He further claimed that PGF did not know anything about the party. As usual, El-Rufai lied. He should have explained how Buni is supposed to swear in state excos when as many as 14 state chapters were bogged down by court cases that resulted from the kind of autocratic tendencies of the PGF. It also showed an absolute disregard for the other arms of government since the Kaduna State Governor was practically expecting his Yobe state counterpart to disregard extant court orders that forbade the swearing-in of some of the state excos he was referring to.

“He also forgot that PGF is not known to law. It is at best a cartel, a criminal one for that matter, and is in no way superior to APC stakeholders, whose wishes Buni rather implemented over that of the vicious minority that the governors are”.

The group, however, expressed surprise that “El-Rufai is denying knowledge of a lawsuit he instigated and financed against Buni when the CECPC chairman was insisting on due process in the scheduling of the convention.

Abel added that “Buni could not have hidden a bomb manufactured by El-Rufai”.

The APC Integrity Group, therefore, warned El-Rufai to stop his blackmail and leave Buni alone to run the CECPC in the fashion he ran it to reduce the crisis in the state chapters of the party.

The group, therefore, challenged El-Rufai to, in concrete terms, prove that the APC governors are opposed to Buni as chairman of CECPC.

APC: 10m APC members to welcome CECPC Chairman, Gov Buni, after medical checks

Barring any last-minute changes, about 10 million members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will welcome the Chairman, Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Governor Mai Mla Buni, back to the party’s head office in Abuja on Monday.

The coordinator of the group said the recent hiccups in the party by some demonic elements were targeted at eliminating Gov Buni while on his hospital bed.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, convener, APC United Frontiers, Hon. Tope Musbau, said these elements resorted to blackmail and campaign of calumny to paint the governor in bad light before President Muhammadu Buhari when their initial plot failed.

According to Musbau, Buni has proven his pedigree, dedication and commitment to the growth of the party from his time as national secretary to this moment.

He said it is laughable that vested and compromised interests wanted to capitalise on his health-enforced trip to twist the party in their favour.

Musbau further described the APC leader as an upright man, a staunch disciple of President Buhari’s school of transparency, accountability and integrity.

“Everyone in Nigeria knows Buni’s pedigree as a forthright leader of the APC,” he said. “We are not surprised that evil forces who are scared of light want him out at all cost.

“Buni is too decent for the people leading this evil campaign against him. He will not fall for their antics as all they want is to rubbish Mr. President’s legacies”.

Musbau, therefore, promised that loyal party members will roll out the carpet in celebration when the Yobe Governor returns to duty.

He said millions of APC supporters across the 36 States will convene in the nation’s capital to welcome Governor Buni as he continues to lead the party to greatness.

“Our leader deserves a grand return and that’s what we have planned for him. We will sound the trumpets, hit the drums, sing and dance because what they planned for Governor Buni didn’t materialise.

“He will be ushered back to his office by over 10m party faithful who truly knows his worth and value his quality leadership. No amount of propaganda can deter the CEPCC chairman.

“We are appealing to party stalwarts to converge in their numbers on Monday. Buni’s return is a victory for our party, victory for Nigeria and victory for democracy”.
