Chief Of Defence Staff, Oluyede, Rejects Allegations Of Genocide Against Christians

0

General Olufemi Oluyede, the recently appointed Chief of Defence Staff, has denied allegations of the purported Christian genocide in Nigeria.

According to reports, President Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) this week further escalated the allegations of Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Additionally, the US President promised that the US military would step in if the Nigerian government did not put an end to the purported persecution of Christians.

Contrary to what some US lawmakers and religious freedom advocates have asserted, the CDS stated that there is no genocide against Christians in a statement made shortly after a meeting with the National Security Adviser (NSA).

He maintained that terrorism is a worldwide problem that has afflicted Nigeria for many years.

“Christians in Nigeria are not persecuted,” he declared. I want Nigerians to know that. Nigeria has been dealing with insecurity for a while now, particularly with regard to terrorism.

“We have been making every effort to put an end to this act of terrorism within the nation.

“We are prepared to enlist the assistance of any nations that are willing to stand with Nigeria in order to prevent acts of terrorism in Nigeria.”

JUST IN: Ozigbo Reveals He Left Labour Party For APC After Experiencing Betrayal, Sabotage

0

Valentine Ozigbo, a former candidate for governor of Anambra State, has explained why he switched from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He stated in a statement on 𝕏 that his love for Anambra State was the driving force behind his painful decision to defect.

Ozigbo said he felt deceived in the LP, but he also admitted the disappointment and rage that followed his departure.

He claims that he had huge grassroots support inside the Obidient movement and was totally dedicated to the LP at the height of its popularity in Anambra State.

According to Ozigbo, he received over 90% of the votes in two different surveys on preferred party and governorship candidates, and independent web polls at the time showed strong public support for his candidacy.

However, he claimed that his aspirations were thwarted by internal treason and sabotage inside the LP leadership.

“A lot of people have asked: ‘Val, why did you leave the Labour Party?'” he stated. Why the APC? Some were curious, some disappointed, and some furious when they asked. All three make sense to me. Truth, however, requires context.

“Unlike anything I had experienced in public life, I saw a degree of betrayal and sabotage within the top leadership of the Labour Party (not at the grassroots level).” At the leadership level, a conscious attempt was made to thwart my candidacy at all costs.

He asserted that the party’s officials planned an opaque approach instead of guaranteeing justice.

“All I asked for was a transparent process, a level playing field, not a coronation. However, what transpired exposed a disturbing truth: the identical culture we denounced in other parties had established itself there, and in certain situations, even more deeply, he added.

The former LP candidate stated that the party’s internal flaws were revealed by his exit, which eventually destroyed the party’s structure in the state.

“I could have stayed to carry on the battle from within, but I had long realized that, out of selfishness and shortsightedness, they ended up crippling the party itself in the process of chasing me out,” he stated.

Ozigbo justified his choice to join the APC by stating that it was the only remaining viable platform to oppose the Anambra government.

JUST IN: ADC Raises Alarm Over Al-Qaeda Presence In Kwara, Blames Tinubu Govt For Rising Insecurity

0

The African Democratic Congress coalition party has joined the United States in criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration, arguing that his indifferent approach toward insecurity has made the situation worse and that a terror cell supported by Al-Qaeda is spreading to Kwara.

“Under this regime, terror and bloodshed have spread to the center region as well as the far east and west of the north. Another terror group, JNIM, an Al-Qaeda affiliate that had been active in the Sahel region, announced a successful attack in Kwara State, which serves as a gateway to the southern part of the country, on October 31, 2025, the day President Trump expressed his concern about Nigeria, according to a statement from ADC. “There is an existential crisis that threatens all Nigerians, and it is not about any ethnic or religious group being targeted to kill.”

According to the coalition, since Mr. Tinubu took power in 2023, thousands of Nigerians have perished as a result of insurgency and violent acts.

Aso Rock was rocked by President Donald Trump’s Friday warning to use the U.S. military to invade Nigeria, as Mr. Tinubu, cabinet members, and supporters hurried to minimize the country’s long-standing insecurity crisis as not necessarily directed at Christians.

FCT minister Nyesom Wike and Femi Fani-Kayode, two of the president’s aides, have united with their leader in criticizing Mr. Trump for interfering in issues they said were outside of his purview.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the ADC, claimed on Monday that not only was Mr. Tinubu’s administration full of justifications, but it also managed to increase the number of Nigerians killed by violence and insurgents to 15,000 in just over two years since taking office. He noted that entire communities and “worshippers have been slaughtered in religious spaces.”

The new coalition said that since this administration took office in 2023, “nearly 15,000 lives have been lost to sundry violent activities,” adding that the “deaths occurred across regions and religions.”

The coalition denounced Mr. Tinubu’s incapacity and refusal to admit that the problem had escalated under his leadership, noting his litany of justifications, even though ADC acknowledged that Mr. Tinubu inherited a country devastated by violence and insurgency.

The ADC declared, “President Tinubu did not initiate the issue of insecurity in Nigeria.” “The issue is that President Tinubu has refused to admit that the situation has gotten worse while he has been in office.”

According to the coalition, JNIM (Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin) launched its first-ever attack against Nigerian soldiers and territory as a result of Mr. Tinubu’s mishandling of the country’s existential situation. The rebel group gained notoriety for its activities in Burkina Faso and Mali.

On Friday, the same day that Mr. Trump accused Mr. Tinubu’s administration of enabling Islamic terrorists to kill Christians in specific attacks, JNIM, a group supported by Al-Qaeda, boasted of unleashing mayhem that killed a Nigerian soldier.

Mr. Tinubu refuted the accusation, claiming that his administration was making every effort to apprehend those responsible and that Nigerians of various ethnicities and religions were victims of insecurity. But the president’s remarks have so far done little to inspire confidence, as the majority of Nigerians said

An “independent audit of operations, leadership, and strategy” was one of the recommendations made by ADC for a reform of the national security establishment.

The ADC encouraged the US government to help Nigeria develop the capacity to handle its own issues, warning that the possible mobilization of US forces to invade the country would undermine the country’s democracy.

JUST IN: Gov. Diri Joins APC, Bayelsa Residents Celebrate

0

As members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally welcome Governor Douye Diri and his supporters to the party, Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, is reportedly buzzing with enthusiasm.

Recall that Diri, who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on October 15, has been secretly negotiating his defection plan with prominent APC figures for weeks.

Despite the early morning rain, thousands of APC and Diri supporters from all eight local government areas began to flood into the state capital as early as 8 am. They were clad in colorful clothing and white t-shirts.

Along several of the state capital’s main thoroughfares, additional supporters could be seen signing and drumming.

In addition, the 5,000-seat Samson Siasia Stadium was packed, and as the crowd continued to swarm inside, security personnel blocked more people from entering out of fear of a possible stampede.

Pastor Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State; Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta State, and his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State; Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State; and Abubakar Momoh, the minister of regional development and engineering, have already arrived in the state capital for the event.

The most recent development has officially ended rumors that Diri might join the APC.

JUST IN: PDP Secretariat Locked Down As Party Faces Deepening Crisis

0

Shortly after Abdulrahman Mohammed took over as Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), security personnel blocked off the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza and the Legacy House in Abuja on Monday, drastically altering the party’s leadership crisis.

Early in the morning, heavily armed police officers stormed the Wadata Plaza offices and ordered media and employees to leave before sealing the gates.

According to reports, the officers positioned themselves strategically around the structure to stop any attempts at access.

Shortly after, the PDP’s National Convention Organizing Committee headquarters, Legacy House in Maitama, was blocked off by a second security unit, thereby stopping all administrative activities at the two main opposition party centers.

Police officers turned away journalists who tried to enter Legacy House, citing “orders from above” as justification for the lockout.

Staff and party members around the country were alarmed by the abrupt security crackdown. It happened just hours after Mohammed’s contentious appointment as Acting Chairman, which has exacerbated tensions inside the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Vanguard was informed by a senior party source that the high police presence was an attempt to prevent violent confrontations between opposing groups.

Factions Exchange Leadership for Blame Days of tense negotiations and political scheming preceded Tussle Mohammed’s takeover, which was allegedly supported by a group within the NWC loyal to a former South-South governor. In the run-up to the 2027 general elections, his camp promised to bring stability and unity back to the PDP while accusing the previous leadership of being overbearing and lacking cooperation.

Umar Damagum is still the legitimate Acting Chairman of the PDP, according to supporters of the suspended leaders, who have rejected his appearance as “an illegal coup.”

Later in the afternoon, PDP employees at the national secretariat staged a walkout to voice their displeasure with the situation, which increased tension.

With signs in hand, the workers declared that there was “total confusion” and that they would not go back to work until clarity was restored.

Both Wadata Plaza and Legacy House were still under lock and key as of the time of publication, with armed guards keeping a close eye on the area.

According to sources, loyalists from both groups were convening separate emergency meetings in Abuja at undisclosed places to discuss potential reconciliation initiatives and next steps.

JUST IN: Nigerian Lawmakers Move To Uncover Drug Trafficking Networks

0

To safeguard the safety and protection of society, the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee looking into purported increases in drug trafficking and alcohol misuse has promised to find offenders and prosecute them.

Timeyin Adelegbe (APC-Ondo), the committee’s chairman, declared in a statement on Sunday that he would not permit Nigeria to turn into a dumping ground for harmful goods, illicit substances, deceptive advertising, and detrimental business practices.

The congressman said that the committee was still planning to organize a multi-stakeholder meeting in Lagos state and Abuja to discuss and gather information from Nigerians regarding how to put an end to the threat.

He claims that this is a reaction to Nigerians’ public outcry for a national emergency that covers corporate responsibility, public health, youth safety, and the integrity of Nigeria’s trade and regulatory systems.

“The committee is dedicated to fulfilling its constitutional mission to look into and reveal any corporate and institutional wrongdoing that contributes to the nation’s widespread drug, alcohol, and tobacco consumption.

“We have a clear mandate: we are to look into the behavior of businesses involved in the drug, alcohol, and tobacco industries and to make sure that all Nigerian laws, rules, and ethical commitments to the Nigerian people are followed.

The committee’s work necessitated the collection of evidence and data, public hearings, and a strategic forum conference with focus areas of government agencies, NGOs, CSOs, and regulatory authorities in Abuja and alcohol, tobacco, port terminals, and pharmaceutical industries in Lagos.

“The conferences will function as forums for policy discussions, professional suggestions, and the creation of practical resolutions for legislative changes,” he stated.

In accordance with Section 89 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the chairman cautioned that any attempt by invited organizations to deceive the committee, hide, or fabricate information during the investigation would be considered contempt of the National Assembly.

He reiterated the committee’s dedication to honesty, openness, and responsibility in its operations.

Mr. Adelegbe clarified that the committee’s probe was a patriotic endeavor meant to safeguard Nigerians’ health and well-being and restore moral business practices in the nation, not a witch hunt.

“Toxic products, illegal drugs, predatory advertising, and destructive business practices must never be dumped in Nigeria.” He declared, “This committee is steadfast in its defense of the Nigerian people.

JUST IN: Presidency Says Trump Needs Tinubu’s Consent Before Launching Military Operation

0

According to Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Policy Communication, it would be diplomatically unacceptable for the US to conduct any military action in Nigeria without permission.

In an interview with BBC World Service on Monday, Bwala made this claim.

He emphasized that Nigeria is an independent country and that any foreign involvement in its internal security matters must be cooperative and considerate of Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

Bwala’s remarks follow US President Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” due to alleged Christian persecution.

Additionally, Trump vowed to use the US “Department of War” to combat terrorist organizations that he said were attacking Nigerian Christians.

Bwala stated, “It’s acceptable if it’s a joint operation with Nigeria.”

However, invading a sovereign country without cooperation is inappropriate from a diplomatic standpoint, particularly if that country continues to be a vital ally in the struggle against instability.

Only when there is proof that a government is complicit in a problem does unilateral action take place. In Nigeria, that is most definitely not the case,” he stated.

JUST IN: Troops Rescue Two Abducted Persons, Recover N3.8m Ransom In Kogi

0

After a bloody battle with bandits, soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade, Lokoja, successfully freed two abducted victims and found a N3.8 million ransom meant for their release.

Brigade Spokesperson Lt. Hassan Abdullahi said in a statement on Monday that the rescue operation happened on Sunday in Achigili Forest along the Itobe–Adumu–Ejule road.

On November 2, soldiers stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Oguma got reliable information about a planned ransom drop, which sparked the start of the operation. In response to the information, a patrol was quickly dispatched to the woodland in order to apprehend the perpetrators.

The bandits opened fire on the soldiers while they were traveling. With superior power, the soldiers engaged the criminals by firing back. As a result, the kidnappers were forced to run into the bush with gunshot wounds, abandoning the two victims—a male and a female—as well as the money.

The victims who had been saved were debriefed right away and placed in secure custody. They were successfully given back the N3.8 million that was retrieved.

Lt. Abdullahi urged the people to keep supplying timely and reliable information to support security operations against criminal elements in the state and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unflinching dedication to defend lives and property.

JUST IN: Land Grabbers Invade Ondo Community, Residents Protest

0

In protest of some alleged land grabbers invading their land, residents of the Aponmu village in Akure South Local Government Area, Ondo State, invaded the governor’s office on Monday in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital.

They claimed that the invaders attacked those who resisted and destroyed their crops, especially their cocoa plantation.

“Mr. Governor, please save our soul, we are suffering” is one of the messages written on the demonstrators’ signs. “Please, Mr. Governor, assist us.” “Land grabbers have taken over our Coca farms.”

To prevent violence in the neighborhood, they thus urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to save them from the intruders.

Pastor Tope Akinkuade, the demonstrators’ leader, clarified that the locals are being harassed by the purported land grabbers as they destroy their crops without consequence.

The farmers revealed that any farmer who attempted to oppose the invaders would be attacked by armed thugs.

The protesting farmers wrote to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa via his Special Advisor (Special Duties), Bola Taiwo, pleading for him to step in and stop additional damage to their farms, which could lead to bloodshed in the neighborhood.

“This is to inform Your Excellency of an imminent threat to peace in Aponmu, arising from possible confrontation with land grabbers operating in the community, which may lead to a breakdown of law and order,” the letter said in part.

“Aponmu is a multiethnic hamlet that has been home to several ethnic groups from Nigeria for more than a century, with a focus on cocoa growing. Cocoa plantations are the sole source of income for a large number of people.

….Says office of FCT High Court CJ compromised by Asabe Waziri, Joe Agi, SAN

*Ready to undertake polygraph test to verify veracity of claim

A lawyer and Human Rights activist, Victor Giwa, has called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN and and the Directorate of State Services, DSS, to investigate the veracity of his claim that the office of the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has been compromised regarding his alleged forgery trial before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie.

According to Giwa, the CJ office has been compromised by Asabe Waziri, a staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Chief Joe Agi.

In an affidavit attached to a motion on notice dated October 27, 2025, seeking the recusal of Justice Onwuegbuzie from his trial before the court, Giwa said he has no chance of getting justice before the court.

Giwa and Bukola. Ibitade are standing trial before the court over allegation of forgery and impersonation

The police had accused Giwa of forging letterhead paper of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Awa Kalu.

But Awa Kalu, in a letter to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode. Egebtolun, put a lie to the allegation of the police against Ibitade amd Giwa.

Despite the letter of Prof. Awa Kalu to the Inspector-General of Police, formally distancing himself from the allegation of forgery and impersonation against Giwa and Ibitade, the police have gone ahead to press charge against Giwa.

Chief Kalu, in a letter to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, had said his letterhead was never forged and that he had not at anytime lodged any complaint to the police about forgery of his document.

Professor Kalu, in a letter dated May 30, 2025, addressed to the Inspector General of Police, clarified that he neither filed a complaint nor reported Mr. Giwa for allegedly forging his firm’s letterhead.

Giwa said in an affidavit in support of the application with motion number M/13799/205 that Asabe Waziri has the backing of some persons in the office of the FCT High Court CJ with respect to his trial in court.

He said in the affidavit, “That I know as a fact that Arabe Waziri is fully supported by persons in the Office of the Chief Judge of FCT, and enjoys favour with respect to her cases in Court.

“That I made efforts and send emissaries to the office of the Chief Judge with the knowledge that the office of the Chef Judge is against me.

“That I have no chances of getting justice before this Honourable Court in this case as the outcome is pre-determined and Asabe Waziri has boasted repeatedly that this Honourable Court is arranged to obtain a conviction and use same as a basis for the withdrawal of my practice license.

“That I humbly and respectfully demand that this case be further investigated by the Department of State Security Service (DSS) and Chief Justice of Nigeria, His Noble lord, Honourable Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

“That I am ready and available to undertake a polygraph test to verify the veracity of my claims and the facts deposed in this affidavit.

“That I know as a fact that during a time of settlement Asabe Wazin was represented by the Director of Enforcement unit of the FCT High Court who demanded that the sum of Eight hundred million naira (N 800, 000,000) be paid to Asabe Waziri should my client and I intend to stop our arraignment before His Lordship Honourable Bature and to further meet with Joe Agi SAN. A copy of the settlement demand list as written and presented in the handwriting of the said Director of Enforcement Unit of the FCT High Court is attached as Exhibit O.

“That Asabe Waziri enjoys full support from the Office of the Chief Judge of
the FCT High Court and its staff, That i depose to this affidavit in good faith believing the contents to be true
and correct and in accordance with the Oath Act 2004.”
