LAGOS— Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) officials in Lagos State yesterday endorsed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term, citing his accomplishments over the previous four years.

Following a gathering in Ikeja, the fellowship’s leaders urged all Christians to cast their ballots for Sanwo-Olu on March 11.

The Chairman, Secretary, and other PFN leaders, including Bishop Theophilus Ajose, Pastor Mahmood Akindejoye, and Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu, were present at the emergency meeting.
The church in Lagos State requested a Christian governor, and he added that Governor Sanwo-Olu had performed admirably over the previous four years. In this governor’s race, the candidate is more important than any political party. Mr. Sanwo-Olu has led the state without favoring any religion, which has given Christians great cause for pride. Because he is one of us, the Church as a whole is saying that Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu deserves to have our support once more.

“I urge all outstanding religious leaders from all denominations, including Muslims, Pentecostals, Orthodox, OAIC, and other Christian and religious groups, to support Mr. Sanwo-bid Olu’s for governor.”

Sanwo-Olu deserves a second term to finish the good works he has started in Lagos, according to Apostle Okwuonu, the state chairman of PFN, who also spoke. PFN is nonpartisan and unprejudiced toward the other candidates.

Apostle Akindejoye, the PFN scribe, urged all Christians to support Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.

Abuja, FCT – Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has stated he will take legal action. After the All Progressives Congress (APCAsiwaju )’s Bola Tinubu was called the winner, Obi spoke.

Peter Obi declares that we’ll use legal means to contest the outcome. In response to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) announcement, Obi declared he would legally and peacefully contest Tinubu’s victory.

On behalf of our presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, I address you all and indeed all Nigerians on the current situation in the country following the announcement of the purported result of the presidential election held on Saturday, February 25th 2023.

“Please be assured of our determination to fight the injustice that has been perpetrated on Nigerians through all legal and peaceful means. It is our position that the purported result did not meet the minimum criteria of a transparent, free and fair election,” Baba-Ahmed said. 

He, however, thanked Nigerians for their belief in them and for coming out en masse to vote for the Labour Party and a cause they believed in, which he said was the birth of a new Nigeria.

It was earlier,  reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared APC’s Tinubu as the winner of Nigeria’s 2023 Presidential Election. Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, declared Tinubu, a former Lagos governor, the winner of the keenly contested election in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, in Abuja. He announced that Tinubu polled 8,794,726 to defeat his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scoring 6,984,520 and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), who scored 6,101,533.

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, Teslim Folarin, the APC’s candidate for governor in Oyo State, received the endorsement of about 190,000 PDP members.

On Wednesday, the PDP Vanguard platform’s supporters announced this in a statement posted to their official Twitter account @pdpvanguard.

Every eligible voter in Oyo State must exercise their right to vote, according to the statement.

“Folarin is the solution,” I said. “The significance of this cannot be overstated, as every single vote counts and can significantly alter the result of the election.”

Yekeen Olaniyi, Folarin’s media assistant, welcomed the development in a statement on Thursday and urged other opposition parties to follow the PDP Vanguard by teaming up with him to free the state from the rule of Governor Seyi Makinde.

He said, “Oyo State’s security system has shamefully deteriorated from a mountaintop of excellence during “Operation Burst” to a despicable gutter of security deterioration such that the residents of the state now live in palpable fear and tension.”
