The statement reads: “The government of Zamfara state has noticed with dismay, the wanton destruction and vandalisation of government and public property and assets where several innocent citizens are being inflicted with various degrees of injuries in the name of celebration of yesterday’s declaration of Governorship election results.” “Reports available to the government indicate that in lives were lost, houses and personal effects destroyed and shops were burgled. “To guard against these acts, government finds it imperative to impose statewide curfew from 8 pm to 6am until peace is restored. Security agencies are therefore directed to ensure compliance.”

Following the announcement of the election results, the Kano State government, whose deputy governor Nasir Gawuna ran for office as an APC candidate but lost to Abba Yusuf of the NNPP, took a similar action, according to Legit.ng. A curfew had been imposed by Governor Ganduje’s administration to prevent violent celebrations, but some NNPP supporters disobeyed it as they flocked to the streets to celebrate the defeat of the ruling party.

Prophet Odumeje, the founder of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, has declared that his time on earth is at an end and that he will pass away soon.

This was said by the well-known Anambra-based pastor as he informed his congregation that it was time for him to leave during church service.

Odumeje, also known as Indaboski, claimed that he had a heart-to-heart conversation with his first son, David, and told him that his final days on earth are drawing near.

When he (Odumeje) is gone, he told the boy to get ready to be the head of the household who will look after his mother and siblings.
The cleric said that the reason he entered the world had been accomplished.

“I called your father, King David, and told him that I would be leaving very soon. Your mother and brothers are dependent on you.

“I had a reason for coming into this world, and that reason has been satisfied. I’ve completed my planetary ministry, and I’ll be departing soon,” he declared.

The 40-year-old Odumeje gained notoriety due to his peculiar method of performing deliverance, in which he carries members seeking miracles like WWE wrestlers and then throws them to the ground.

He has engaged in numerous conflicts and issued challenges to many native physicians to hold competitions regarding their capacity to work miracles. The man of God recently claimed that he engaged in combat with the devil in the underworld and emerged victorious.

In response to the recently completed presidential election in Nigeria, protests have broken out in Abuja, the capital of the country.

The Unity Fountain has been occupied by the protesters, who are mainly young people, to vent their rage.

With signs reading “We stand for Justice, we fight for a new Nigeria,” “President Buhari keep your promise,” and “Democracy not INECcracy,” the protesters were dressed all in black. The protesters pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to prevent the collapse of Nigeria on behalf of “the people.

Moses Ogidi Paul of Yell-Out Nigeria, who organized the protest, spoke at the protest site and bemoaned INEC’s shortcomings in the recently concluded presidential election.

It’s not too late, according to Ogidi, for INEC to repair its reputation.

Colombia suspends ceasefire with AGC criminal group

Because the Clan del Golfo, the nation’s largest criminal organization also known as the Gaitanista Self-Defense Forces (AGC), attacked police, Colombian President Gustavo Petro issued an executive order suspending their ceasefire.

Petro tweeted, “I have instructed the armed forces to reactivate all military operations against the Clan del Golfo.

“We won’t allow them to keep sowing fear and anxiety in the neighborhoods.”

The Clan and government agreed to a cease-fire as part of efforts to end the group’s involvement in Colombia’s internal conflict, which has claimed at least 450,000 lives.

It was scheduled to begin on New Year’s Eve and last for six months. In a radio interview from a few days prior, on March 13, Petro accused the group of destroying a municipal aqueduct in the province of Antioquia amid roadblocks related to unofficial gold miners’ protests.

At the time, Petro declared that the group had “broken the ceasefire” and that if attacks continued, negotiations with the group were out of the question.

Authorities stated earlier on Sunday that six vehicles were set on fire in the Bajo Cauca region of the Antioquia department in an incident allegedly related to the mining protest.

Ivan Velasquez, the defense minister, told reporters on Sunday night that the government was certain that the Clan was accountable for both the violent incident and the rifle attack on law enforcement, which Petro had alluded to in a tweet earlier that day.

According to Velasquez, orders had been given to military units and the national police to create “offensive operations against the Clan del Golfo.” More than 10,000 law enforcement officers worked in the area, he continued.

Truck drivers passing through conflict zones were urged by Velasquez to join scheduled caravans that would be guarded by security personnel in order to prevent similar incidents.

Petro has asked Congress to approve a law allowing gangs to surrender in exchange for ceasing operations and making reparations to victims as part of his peace plan, which also includes reduced prison sentences.

INEC declares Abba Yusuf as governor elect for Kano State

Malam Abba Yusuf, a candidate for the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), has been proclaimed the victor of the Kano State governorship election that took place on March 18.

Abba received 1,019,602 votes, defeating his closest rival, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the governorship candidate for the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, who received 890,705 votes, according to Professor Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, the chief returning officer for the election, who announced the results at precisely 6:47 am local time at the INEC headquarters in Kano state.

“That Abba, Kabir Yusuf having scored the highest number of votes and having satisfied the requirements of the law is returned elected dated this day 20, March, 2023,” declared the Professor.

The Chief Returning Officer explained that because the confirmed incidents of election-related violence occurred after the vote, these developments have no bearing on the margin of victory in accordance with INEC Guideline 2.

Difference of 128, 897 votes determines the winner.

Out of the state’s 44 Local Government Areas, NNPP won 30 and APC won 14.

2,320,955 ballots were cast in total, 1,977,872 of them were valid, and 27,092 were invalid.

The NNPP’s party representative at the collation center, Dr. Bappa Bichi, expressed satisfaction with the results and claimed that the declaration of the results represented the acceptance of the will of the Kano people.

It serves as a declaration of our commitment and will to democracy. Opportunity for Kano state and Nigeria as a whole to grow peacefully, together, and economically,” he said.

Suleiman Bichi, the party representative for the APC, responded in a different way, reiterating that the party would examine the legal provisions and take the necessary action while urging the Kano residents to maintain their composure.

“We reject the interpretation of Guideline Number 2 by the Chief Returning Officer in place of Guideline Number 6. However, I urge everyone in Kano, especially the supporters of our party, to maintain their composure. It’s not the end of the world if you lose an election because there are still more chances to win, he said.

INEC Declares Kebbi Gubernatorial Election Inconclusive

The Kebbi gubernatorial election has been ruled inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Yusuf Sa’idu, the INEC Collation and Returning Officer for the State, declared the governorship election inconclusive due to “massive vote cancellation and overvoting” in 20 of the State’s 21 LGAs.

There were 792,234 votes cast, of which 18,204 were rejected, according to the returning officer. The total number of votes cast was 760,438 while there were 2,032,041 registered voters.

According to Sa’idu, the PDP received 342,980 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 388,258 votes, a difference of 45,278.

Sa’idu cited the Electoral Act 2022 when he said, “We totaled the number of collected PVCs in those polling units (where votes were annulled), and it came to a total of 91,829. The two major political parties in this election, the APC and PDP, received 388,258 votes each, according to the results, and 342,980 votes, respectively. When we examine the difference, we find that it is 45,278.

“The presiding officer shall annul the outcome of the election in any polling unit where the number of votes cast in an election exceeds the number of accredited voters in that polling unit. In accordance with subsection 2 of Section 51, it is also stated in subsection 3 that no return for an election shall be made until a new election has been held in the polling place in question.

I, Prof. Yusuf Sa’idu of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, hereby declare the gubernatorial election in Kebbi State inconclusive in accordance with these provisions and the powers granted to me as the Collation and Returning Officer of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Kebbi State.

All of the political posts that were shared on Funke Akindele’s Instagram page, a well-known Nollywood actress who is now a politician, have been deleted.

Hours after she lost, Akindele, Abdulazeez Adediran, aka Jandor, who was running for governor of Lagos State under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, deleted the posts.

It was made clear that none of her campaign rallies or other political events from the election campaign were captured on camera.

Kwara state – The election for the Owode/Onire state constituency in Kwara was won by Rukayat Shittu, who was running as a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC). The results of this election have been announced. On Sunday, March 19, the returning officer for INEC, Akeem Ijaiya, announced that Shittu had received 7,521 votes, which was enough to win the election and defeat Abdullah Magaji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 6,957 votes. Ijaiya announced that the winner of the election would be declared as having “satisfied the requirements of the law and received the highest number of votes,” and she went on to say that she would be “hereby declared the winner of the election.” As a result of her victory, Shittu will take her seat in the state assembly on May 29 as the country’s youngest lawmaker of any state assembly.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the current governor of Lagos State and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared the winner of the gubernatorial election that took place on Saturday, March 18.
After tallying 762,134 votes, Sanwo-Olu emerged victorious, defeating his closest opponent, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who tallied 312 327 votes. Sanwo-Olu received 762,134 votes. Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), finished a distant third with 62,449 votes.
“I declare that the governorship candidate of the APC, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, having satisfied the requirements of the law by scoring 25 per cent in two-thirds of the local government areas in the state, and also scoring the highest number of valid votes cast is here today to claim victory in this election,” said Prof. Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, the state Collation/Returning Officer for INEC in Ondo State and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology
In a response to the result, Mrs. Dayo Ekong, who was serving as both the Chairperson of the LP in Lagos State and an LP agent at the collation center, declared that the result was invalid. She referred to the whole electoral process as a farce when she was singing the second stanza of the national anthem. She said, “This is an election that is riddled with violence, and people were enormously disenfranchised.” Since the INEC has dropped its standards, the Labour Party is rejecting the results in their entirety.

INEC declares APC’s Buni winner of Yobe governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the incumbent governor of Yobe, Mai Mala Buni, is the victor of the governorship election that took place on Saturday in the state.

The announcement of the result was made on Sunday in Damaturu by the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Umaru Pate.

Pate reported that Buni, candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), received 317,113 votes to defeat Alhaji Sherif Abdullahi, candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 124,259 votes. Pate said that Buni’s vote total was announced.

“That Buni Mai Mala of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner of the election and returned elected,” he said. “That Buni Mai Mala of APC is hereby declared the winner of the election and returned elected.”

Pate, who is also the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere in Gombe, stated that Alhaji Garba Umar of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) came in a distant third with 14,246 votes, and Arabi Mohammed of the Action Alliance (AA) polled 3,260 votes. Pate is also the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere in Gombe.

He stated that the number of voters who were registered was 1,485,141, while the total number of voters who were accredited was 459,492. He also stated that the number of valid votes was 444,567, while the number of rejected votes was 13,214, and the total number of votes cast was 457,781.
