Yusuf Falgore, a member of the Rogo Constituency, was chosen by the Kano State House of Assembly to serve as the state’s 10th Assembly’s Speaker and was then sworn in.

Tajudeen Abbas, a lawmaker from Zaria Federal Constituency, has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Members-elect have endorsed Benjamin Kalu, the APC’s candidate for deputy speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly.
While Kalu won the position of Deputy Speaker of the House without opposition, Tajudeen Abbas, the newly elected Speaker, faced competition from two other candidates.
The Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambuwal, confirmed that there were no other nominations for the position and immediately swore Kalu in as Deputy Speaker.

It has been brought to our attention that rumours are being spread about the possibility that he will be detained by security personnel and removed from the city of Abuja before Tuesday morning.
These reports are starting to surface just a few hours before the 10th Assembly is scheduled to begin, which is when the leadership will be decided.
According to the Daily Sun, Yari’s camp has claimed that pressure will be put on security agents to do everything in their power to prevent Yari and many of his key supporters from entering the National Assembly on Tuesday. This allegation was made in response to a report that claimed that Yari will be able to access the building.
This platform brings to your attention the fact that Yari, who has refused to step down in favour of Godswill Akpabio, the consensus candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), is said to have the support of more than sixty percent of his fellow party members.
You may recall that on Thursday of this week, the Federal High Court in Abuja extended the order that stopped the Department of State Services (DSS), the Independent Corrupt Practises and other related offences Commission (ICPC), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from detaining Yari.
The EFCC, ICPC, and DSS are not permitted to detain Yari until June 27, 2023, which is the date on which they must appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja, which is presided over by Justice Donatus Okorowo.
An oral application was made to the court by Yari’s attorney, Michael Aondoaka, which led to the court’s order. At the same time, Gloria Ogbason, who represented the EFCC, and Kemi Odogun, who represented the ICPC, both asked the court for a postponement so that they could file their responses to Yari’s motion.
