Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a lawyer for the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has expressed outrage at a purported threat to his and his family’s lives.

In a petition dated December 29, 2025, Ejiofor stated that it is now necessary to formally inform the public and the world community about what he called a planned campaign of hostility and intimidation.

The Oraifite native from Anambra State’s Ekwusigo Local Government Area noted that the growing threats to his life and his family’s safety made the public alert relevant.

He emphasized that well-meaning people from all walks of life responded to the alarm with calls, messages, and statements of profound concern.

The human rights attorney went on to say that despite the public outrage, the threats have unfortunately continued and gotten worse, requiring him to present the historical and true story to the globe.

Remember when I voiced a public alert about clear and serious risks to my life and my family’s safety? Well-meaning people from all walks of life responded to the alarm with calls, messages, and statements of profound worry.

Unfortunately, these threats have since continued and increased rather than decreased, which is why I must present this historical and accurate story to the public.

The appeal stated in part, “It is well known that I am currently celebrating Christmas and New Year’s with my family at my ancestral home in Oraifite, Anambra State.”

2027: Keyamo Says Popular Former Presidential Candidate Agrees to Run as Vice-Presidential Candidate

According to Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, a former presidential contender has consented to run for vice president in the 2027 election.

APC Launches Online Membership Validation Across All States and FCT

In an effort to improve paperwork and fortify the party’s internal structure, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has started its electronic membership registration process in all 36 of the federation’s states as well as the Federal Capital Territory.

The party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, made the announcement on Wednesday through a tweet on his verified 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account.

INEC Releases Ekiti Governorship Candidates List, Omits PDP Flagbearer

The list of contenders for the Ekiti State governorship election on June 20, 2026, has been made public by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The list, which was displayed on Monday at the INEC headquarters in the state capital of Ado-Ekiti, includes the names of candidates for governor and their running mates from twelve political parties who have been given the go-ahead to run.

Opeyemi Falegan of the Accord Party, Akande Oluwasegun of the African Action Congress, Ayodeji Ojo of the Action Democratic Party, Oluwadare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress, Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress, and Bidemi Awogbemi of the Action People’s Party are among those listed.

Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has been asked by Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, to support President Bola Tinubu by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) rather than remaining undecided.

According to reports, Kalu revealed this on Monday during a town hall meeting and food distribution at his rural home in Bende, Abia State, while speaking to APC members and his supporters.

He emphasized that Tinubu will not back a non-APC member and stated that Otti would have the complete support of Abia APC members if he joined the party.

Former Kogi West senator Dino Melaye has responded to former AGF Attorney General Abubakar Malami’s arraignment before an Abuja Federal High Court.

Melaye wished Malami well as his corruption trial got underway.

The former congressman recalls being prosecuted by Malami for what he called “frivolous cases” while serving as the AGF in a post on X.

“Reminded me of how I was appearing in different courts when Malami as AGF was prosecuting me over frivolous cases, including taking over one of the police cases against me,” he said. Best wishes to him.

Malami, his son Abdulaziz, and another person are charged with sixteen counts of money laundering.

They were charged with obtaining and concealing money illegally.

Each of them entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.
