Just hours after the Osun State governorship election ended, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has posted about 40 percent of the results on its Result Viewing Portal (IREV).

The portal shows that 1,517 results submitted out of 3,763 have been uploaded so far, Naija News reports.

According to the portal, so far, the results uploaded are 40.31 per cent.

A few minutes after the delay in uploading results was queried by award-winning singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, INEC started the uploading.

In a series of posts on his official 𝕏 handle on Saturday, the Nigerian singer called on the electoral body to ensure transparency and timely update the public on the results of the election.

“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m. and no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal,” Davido wrote. What’s the hold-up? Nigerians deserve timely and transparent updates”.

In a bid to ensure transparency, Davido charged voters to remain at their polling units until their results are uploaded to the IReV portal and ensure that figures are entered on the electronic EC8A result form.

“Ensure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and ensure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A)”. “Bumper to bumper we will follow our votes!”
