Despite the fact that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) the winner of the 2021 Anambra gubernatorial election, the Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr Oluwatosin Odeyemi, has expressed hope of winning the Osun gubernatorial election next year.
Reacting to APGA’s outstanding performance in the Saturday, November 6, and Tuesday, November 9, 2021 supplementary elections, Odeyemi hinted that the NNPP was confident of capturing victory in the Osun gubernatorial election, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 16, 2022.
“The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Anambra governorship election, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who has taken a lead in the poll is a sign that a victory by the NNPP is not unachievable in Osun State,” he said in a statement.

“The National Peoples Party (NNPP) is poised to take over Osun State from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the polls.”
“We will leave no stone unturned ahead of the gubernatorial election in order to wrest control of the state from the APC leadership.”
While claiming that his party will win the Osun gubernatorial election in 2022, Odeyemi urged the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, to begin preparing his handover note.
He explained that Governor Oyetola should begin preparing his handover note because he has misgoverned Osun State and does not see other party leaders and politicians as stakeholders in moving the state forward.
The Osun NNPP chairman, who noted that the state has been neglected and that those in power have been playing politics rather than dealing with governance, added that Osun has suffered as a result.
“Government in Osun State has never been this bad,” he says. The state has not been this bad since the regime of Chief Bisi Akande and the immediate past administration of Aregbesola.

“Our party’s victory in Osun State is assured for next year.”
“We are also taking advantage of this opportunity to inform Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State that we are prepared to hand over power to the NNPP.”
“Oyetola does not see other party leaders in Osun State as stakeholders, but rather as enemies.”
“Because the APGA won the election in Anambra State, Oyetola should not look down on any party because the NNPP is also well prepared to take over the affairs of Osun State from the APC,” Odeyemi stated.
