Algerian star and Lyon player Islam Slimani believes Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah will win the Ballon d’Or in 2021.
Salah was named to France Football’s 30-man shortlist for the individual award.
The winner will be announced on November 29, and Salah will be the second African player to win the award, following former Liberian star George Weah.
When asked if Salah could claim the prize, the former Leicester City forward replied, “God willing, why not?”

“He [Salah] is an Arab player like us, and he represents Arabs all over the world.” It is an honor for us Arabs to have an Arab player, whether it is him or Riyad Mahrez, who is a Ballon d’Or nominee.
“The most important thing is that he represents Arabs and Muslims around the world.”
