The Nigerian police have called on Lagos residents to dismiss any calls for a demonstration on Saturday, June 12. This was conveyed in a statement on Friday evening, signed with the spokesperson of the Lagos Police command, Adejobi Olumuyiwa. He disclosed that the control is not aware of any planned protest from the State to commemorate the 2021 Democracy day. He also urged citizens to pay no attention to any sit-at-home order called by certain classes, adding that safety agencies have made necessary arrangement to Keep law and order Throughout the nation

“The Lagos State Police Command wishes to state clearly it is not aware of any planned protest in Lagos State to commemorate the 2021 Democracy Day on Saturday, 12th June 2021.

“In this regard, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, consequently appeals to members of the public to disregard any sit-at-home order known as by certain groups which have been circulated in the social websites and go about their lawful businesses as the police and other security agencies have created necessary arrangement to keep law and order throughout the state.”

“While reassuring the general public of sufficient security of property and lives at Lagos State, the Commissioner of Police, reiterated that police personnel in the command will religiously discharge their duties within the ambit of law enforcement,” the statement read in part.
