Adamu Garba, a former candidate for the presidency of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has insisted that the redesign of the naira was a plot against Bola Tinubu, the party’s nominee.
Garba claimed that the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) redesign of the naira was a scheme to prevent Tinubu from becoming president of Nigeria.

No matter how you want to look at it, the redesign of the CBN naira that was implemented during the election season was a scheme to prevent Bola Ahmed Tinubu from becoming the president of Nigeria, according to Garba.
“How else can you account for this provocative action taking place during this time? How? By Allah, this scheme will also fail!
Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, endorsed Garba’s statement.
The Speaker claimed that despite their difficulties, Nigerians were continuing to support the ruling party and Tinubu, suggesting that the plot was failing.
“Nobody can persuade me that this isn’t a scheme to prevent Asiwaju [Tinubu] from becoming this nation’s president.
