On March 24, 2023, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCCUyo )’s Zonal Command made 18 (18) arrests of suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo and Mberebe, two local government areas in Akwa Ibom State’s Etinan Local Government Area.
The suspects, whose ages range from 19 to 31, were detained as a result of useful information connecting them to alleged online criminal activities.

They were found with laptops, smartphones, and a Point of Sale (POS) device.
When the investigations are complete, the suspects will be arraigned.
