Governor of Borno State Prof Babagana Umara Zulum has donated 50 million naira to victims of the GSM market fire inferno in Maiduguri.
Governor Zulum announced the donation when he visited the market after returning from his official trip to Saudi Arabia. He sympathizes with the victims and prayed God to avert future occurrence.
“May Almighty Allah in his infinite mercy averts future occurrence; I wish to express my appreciation to the fire service, the Nigerian Police and all other paramilitary that have worked tirelessly to curtail the fire outbreak. I am hereby announcing the sum of fifty million (50M) Naira support to the victims.”
Governor Zulum after going round the market to see the damages while addressing the massive crowd of marketers gathered to receive him announced his administration plans to relocate the GSM market to its permanent site.
“But most importantly we have to understand that this place is too congested, immediately Government would look into the possibility of relocating you to the permanent site.”
