In Lagos, 17 passengers narrowly escape death as boat capsizes

On Monday, a ferry carrying 17 passengers from Ikorodu in Lagos State to Ebute Ero capsized, narrowly sparing them death.

This was stated in a statement made in Lagos by Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, General Manager of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA).

Emmanuel claimed that first responders, including LASWA officers, saved their lives.
According to the general manager, the incident occurred around 7 a.m.

He claimed that the incident involved the commercial passenger ferry Fazma Logistics and happened near the Third Mainland Bridge, close to the Bariga ferry terminal.

He claimed that while the boat’s captain was being questioned and the investigation was ongoing, the boat was recovered right away.
