The Zamfara state House of Assembly has reportedly resumed its efforts to impeach the state’s incumbent deputy governor, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, after a six-month hiatus.
In July 2021, state lawmakers charged the deputy governor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and gave him a 48-hour deadline to appear before them over allegations of official misconduct.
The approach that the state assembly will take this time around remains to be seen.
