At Nahuta village in the Batsari Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, eight farmers were taken hostage and four farmers were killed by suspected bandits, according to the Katsina State Police Command.
Sunday’s incident in Katsina was verified by ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the spokesman for the state police.
The attackers, according to him, attacked while the farmers were harvesting their crops.
One of the farmers who made it out was wounded by gunshots, according to the News Agency of Nigeria reporting.
