Atiku’s Aide Claims Tinubu With ‘Propaganda’ With 15 Media Aides

Phrank Shaibu, an adviser to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Atiku Abubakar, has voiced concerns about claimed plans by President Bola Tinubu to implement a propaganda regime as state policy in the coming days.

Shaibu, the former Vice President’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, said in a statement on Sunday that the “fake news” about the UAE easing its visa ban was merely the “tip of the iceberg.”

He observed that Tinubu has already appointed over 15 media aides with the sole purpose of allegedly spreading falsehood as a state policy and distracting Nigerians from the deep sufferings his administration had caused them.

He said that this has always been Tinubu’s style since his days as governor and party leader.

“From information available to us, Bola Tinubu is set to push propaganda to overdrive as he heads out for the United Nations General Assembly,” Atiku’s adviser stated. He will claim to have attracted $100 billion in international investments but would fail to disclose vital facts. It’s all propaganda. It’s all nonsense. In India, he claimed pledges totaling more than $14 billion, just as his predecessor, President Muhammadu Buhari, claimed in 2018 that he had secured pledges of up to $6 billion. This is only about audio investments.

“Last month, the NNPC claimed to have received a $3 billion loan to help stable the naira. We warned that it was all a scheme to dupe Nigerians. We’ve been vindicated now that the naira is approaching $1/N1,000 on the illegal market.Tinubu stated that the visa prohibition was lifted shortly after his travel to the UAE. They have now changed the goalposts when UAE authorities acknowledged that the news was untrue. This is the kind of embarrassment Nigeria will continue to face during the balablu season.

“According to the FTSE report, Tinubu’s so-called FX unification policy was failing, and Nigeria was demoted from frontier market to unclassified.” After failing to bring economic regeneration, he has now hired over 15 media aides instead of more economic experts.

Shaibu found it amusing that Tinubu, who promised to strike the ground running from the start, has only held one cabinet meeting since his inauguration about 120 days ago.

He urged Nigerians to be patient as the Supreme Court prepares to hear the presidential election petition appeal in 2023.

“Tinubu removed the petrol subsidy without any plan and decided to hand out a few bags of rice to millions of poor Nigerians.” Currently, the minimum salary is N30,000, or $31 per month depending on the parallel market exchange rate.

“This is the punishment Nigerians are facing as a result of the election management body’s failure to complete its work on February 25.” This is a manifestation of the words of the Holy Book, which states that when the righteous govern, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people suffer.
