The Super Eagles are a group of talented players without good coordination or a head coach, according to Sani Fema, a former member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board.
Fema, who is currently the Senate President’s Special Assistant on Sports, revealed this on Monday in Abuja during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
In the second leg of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, which was played on Monday at the Estadio 24 de Setembro Stadium in Guinea Bissau, the Super Eagles defeated the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau 1-0.
In the first leg of their match, the Djurtus humiliated the Nigerian team 1-0 three days prior at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Fema countered that the Eagles’ performance in Bissau had demonstrated their ability to compete with and defeat any team in the world, but added that they lacked the technical staff necessary to bring out the best in their players.
“We have the players to compete against any team in the world, but the problem is that we don’t have a good coach. I’m sorry to say this, but our technical staff isn’t up to par.
“It is clear that the players performed admirably in Guinea-Bissau, particularly in the first half when the home team was unable to attack them.
“The team has really impressed me, but as I mentioned, we lack a strong technical crew.
“I do not support Peserio; I favor our regional athletes.
“People like Sunday Oliseh and Emmanuel Amuneke could be our coaches. One of the best coaches in the world is Oliseh.
If you combine Oliseh with Amuneke and Salisu, the Super Eagles will be successful because the players will listen to them because they were a part of the team before them, according to Fema.
He believes that Oliseh is the most qualified Nigerian coach to manage the current Eagles.
Fema noted that Oliseh’s brief time as the team’s coach was hindered by events beyond his control, but that the environment is now suitable for him to succeed with the team.
“I promise you, if you give Oliseh this caliber of players, the team will be the pride of the world.
Imagine that these players were able to earn a maximum three points while playing on a soggy field in Guinea-Bissau.

He claimed that neither Sierra Leone nor Sao Tome and Principe could prevent the Super Eagles from winning Group A and selecting the AFCON ticket.
