Atomic bomb: US, others urged to act Fast to prevent 3rd world war

Alhaji Nurudeen Muhammed, Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Malaysia and Brunei, has urged world leaders to act quickly to prevent a third world war from erupting in Ukraine and Russia.

Muhammed, who is also a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, told reporters in Illorin that he fears the atomic bomb being planned by the warring countries will lead to global disaster if those in power fail to act quickly.

He demanded a cease-fire in Ukraine and urged NATO and others to restore peace in the two warring countries as soon as possible.

“Do we need to pull back, sit down, and think of how to resolve it, or do we need to drop the atomic bomb here and there with huge consequences?” he asked.

“Because the countries taking positions are all nuclear powers, the majority of NATO countries are nuclear powers, Russia is a nuclear power, all of them must come down, and may God not allow them to press the nuclear button for each other.”

“They must quickly agree to restore peace between the two countries; otherwise, a third world war could erupt.”

According to reports, since Russian forces recently invaded some cities in Ukraine, there has been widespread concern around the world that the conflict between the two countries could lead to a third world war.

Despite several peace talks and calls for a ceasefire, many people have died as a result of the war, and other countries are scrambling to find ways to evacuate their citizens.
