Erdogan Tells Putin Of Readiness To Help Solve Russia-Ukraine War By ‘Peaceful Means’

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Sunday about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and possible solutions.

Erdogan told Putin that Turkiye is ready to assist in resolving the situation through “peaceful means” as soon as possible.

“Not only would a cease-fire address humanitarian concerns, but it would also provide an opportunity to find a political solution,” he said.
He said Turkiye is in contact with the Ukrainian side as well as other countries, and that it “will continue efforts for comprehensive negotiations.”

According to UN figures, at least 351 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since Russia launched a war on the Eastern European country on February 24, including 22 children and 41 women, with the real toll expected to be much higher.

According to the UN refugee agency, more than 1.5 million people have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries.

The international community has reacted angrily to the Russian attacks, with the EU, the United Kingdom, and the United States, among others, imposing a slew of economic sanctions on Moscow.
