Christian Kpatuma, one of the alleged killers of a retired Chief Superintendent of Police in Imo State, has been apprehended by the state police command.
Rabiu Hussaini, the Commissioner of Police, announced the development during a press conference on Friday.
On the 1st of February, the retired police officer was reported to have been beheaded and his body dumped in front of his compound.
Deberechi Chukwu, the suspect apprehended, was named.
Chukwu was apprehended by the command’s tactical team while attempting to flee to a border state, according to the commissioner of police.

“One of the suspects, Deberechi Chukwu, the leader of the cult group that killed retired police officer CSP Christian Kpatuma, was arrested while fleeing to a border state after diligently gathering both forensic and technical intelligence.”
“It was discovered during the investigation that the suspect, Deberechi Chukwu, is a notorious kidnapper and an escapee from the Imo Correctional Center in Owerri, Imo State.” After escaping from the Imo Correctional Centre, the suspect formed a cult and terrorized the Agwa community.
“It is also on record that he was involved in the assassination of a number of state security personnel.”
