On Tuesday, a presidential delegation paid respects to the Walin Daura, Alhaji Sani Buhari Daura, a Kano businessman, and industrialist.
At Yar Mai Shinkafi quarters in Kano City, the delegation, led by Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, delivered the president’s condolences to the people of Kano through the emir, Aminu Bayero, and the deceased’s family.
In a letter to the emir, Buhari stated that the deceased was one of the country’s oldest pioneer businessmen who contributed to the economy and helped to create jobs for hundreds of people, writing, “Men like Sani Buhari rose to success through sheer hard work and drive.”
“The late Sani Buhari demonstrated that hard work can lead to success. Because of his dedication to hard work and perseverance, his life story is inspiring.
“I pray for the fortitude to bear the loss for you, the Sani Buhari families in Daura and Kano, as well as the government and people of Katsina and Kano.”
The emir, who welcomed the team alongside his brother, the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, thanked Buhari for standing by Kano residents in good times and bad.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who also took part in the burial ceremonies, expressed the people’s gratitude to President Obama.

The delegation included Hadi Sirika, the Minister of Aviation, and Sulaiman Adamu, the Minister of Water Resources; Garba Shehu, the presidential spokesman; and Maikano Abdullahi, the Deputy Chief Security Officer, who is the deceased’s in-law.
After funeral prayers were offered at the emir’s palace, the late founder of the Bayajidda Group of Companies, who died in Dubai after a long illness, was buried in Kano city.
