Governor Babagama Umara Zulum of Borno state has commended the gallantry of officers and men of the Nigerian Army for their efforts, sacrifices and doggedness in the counter insurgency operations.
He also commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, for the ultra modern reference hospital for the Nigerian Army and host communities, which he described as a laudable project.
The governor who stated this Monday at the ground breaking ceremony of the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital at Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri said the hospital was a morale booster for the officers and men of Nigerian Army.
Zulum who was represented by the Chief of Staff (COS) to the governor, Dr. Babagama Wakil, said it was another great moment for him to attempt the ground breaking ceremony of Nigeria Army but was unavoidably absent for an official assignment in Kala Balge and Matte LGAs.
He thanked them for inviting him for the ground breaking ceremony and expressed hope that very soon he will be around for the commissioning ceremony.
