Thierry Henry, a former Arsenal player, has stated that PSG will not be able to win the Champions League by “defending with seven players.”
This was stated by Henry on CBS during his analysis of PSG’s group game against Manchester City.
At The Etihad, Kylian Mbappe scored first, but Pep Guardiola’s side came back with goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.
Mbappe, as well as Lionel Messi and Neymar, have been chastised by Henry for their lacklustre performance on Wednesday.

PSG will have no chance of winning European silverware if their Ligue 1 stars continue to ignore their defensive responsibilities, according to him.
“You can’t defend with seven players if you want to win the Champions League.”
“It’s impossible, regardless of who you are. Because the full backs are exposed, the pitch is effectively three vs one, three vs two.
“Teams that win titles – especially in the Champions League – have their front-three facing the ball.
“That way, the full backs will have a better understanding of what’s going on behind them.”
“However, they’re currently overexposed. French teams are unable to expose them, but Man City can,” Henry explained.

“Pochettino is not allowed to be Pochettino with that team at times,” he added.
“How do you remove (Messi, Mbappe, or Neymar) from the pitch?” As a result, he deployed Angel Di Maria in midfield, but he was exposed and unhelpful.”
