The Yobe State government has ordered the closure of all primary and secondary schools ahead of the #EndBadGovernance protests in the country.
A group of Nigerians had planned to stage nationwide protests to express their displeasure over the hunger and other socio-economic challenges occasioned by the policy initiatives of the current administration from August 1-10.
The Director of Schools Management in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Bukar M. Modu, disclosed this in a memo seen by journalists on Tuesday.
The schools are to proceed on the end of the session holiday on Wednesday instead of August 2.
“The decision became necessary in light of the planned nationwide protest,” the memo read.
The schools would resume academic activities on September 15.
