Win the Anambra governorship, the PDP needs Uba and Ukachukwu – Ekwunife

Senator Uche EDkwunife, the chairperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDPAnambra )’s State Governorship Campaign Council, has stated that the party’s leaders and stakeholders, including Chief Chris Uba and Linus Ukachukwu, will need to work together to defeat the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) on November 6, 2021.

Speaking at the official inauguration of the PDP Campaign Council in Awka, the state capital, on Sunday, Ekwunife said such people who had worked in the past for the party’s advancement in one way or another should not be wished away.

“No matter how you look at it, Chris Uba, Linus Ukachukwu, and others are still our leaders. We require them for the party’s continued expansion and growth, as well as to win the upcoming governorship election. Even if they’re angry, we’ll keep pleading with them and bringing them closer to us so that we can go into the election together. They can’t be wished away in any way, no matter what happens,” she said.

Ekwunife also urged members of the campaign council to view their roles as a call to duty, which she said would hopefully lead to the party’s victory.

“I will encourage all members of the campaign council to see their positions as a call to duty. We should see ourselves as deserving ambassadors for the party, who must prioritize the party’s interests.

“I’ll also beg any member who isn’t interested or believes he won’t be able to commit to the job to excuse himself. It is commitment, not numbers, that counts in any campaign. It’s preferable to be five in umber and committed than to be numerous but uncommitted. Valentine Ozigbo is a providential product, so we must rally behind him to help him win,” she said.

Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, the campaign organization’s Director General, thanked the party’s stakeholders, as well as members of the campaign organization, for their efforts in uniting the party and moving it forward. He also urged party supporters to approach the upcoming elections with sincerity and unity of purpose, so that the party would emerge victorious on November 6, 2021. He also revealed that the party’s campaign council would be inaugurated in all 21 LGAs and 326 wards in the state in the coming days for effective grassroots campaigning.

Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, the party’s governorship candidate, thanked the campaign council and all PDP supporters for promising to support him throughout the election until victory is achieved in his remarks at the event.
