VP Shettima, Obasanjo, Atiku, others attend Kwankwaso’s daughter’s wedding in Kano

The wedding of Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso’s daughter, Dr. Aisha Kwankwaso, and her husband, Fahad Dahiru-Mangal, was attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima and other dignitaries on Saturday.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Katisina State Governor Dikko Radda, and Senator Adamu Alero were also present.

Among them were former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, former National Cairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, Minister of Steel Prince Shuaibu Abubakar, and Minister of Defense Badaru Abubakar.

The former governor of Kaduna, Ahmed Makarfi, Mahamud Shinkafi, Zamfara, Isah Yuguda, Bauchi, Victor Attah Akwa Ibom, and Lucky Igbinedion of Edo were also present.

Sen. Rufai Hanga, Sen. Dino Maleye, and Sen. Abdul Ningi were other prominent figures.

Numerous members of state and national assemblies, business leaders, politicians, and diplomat corps members were present, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Around 12:15 p.m., the Fatiha wedding ceremony was held at the Emir’s Palace in Kano.

Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen, the Chief Imam of Kano, presided over the wedding ceremonies.

The bride was represented by Kano Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf, who received the N1 million dowry from Shettima, who acted as the groom’s stand-in.

A sizable number of locals attended the ceremony, which was also attended by well-known Islamic academics and other well-wishers from throughout the nation.

According to NAN, there was strict security around the Kano metropolis throughout the wedding.

The Chief Imam offered up prayers for harmony between Kwankwaso’s daughter and her husband, Dahiru-Mangal, the son of a well-known business tycoon.

With the Emir’s Palace serving as a representation of the area’s rich history and legacy, the marriage ceremony emphasized the importance of Kano State’s cultural and traditional institutions.

Between 1999 to 2003 and again from 2011 to 2015, Kwankwaso was Kano State’s governor.

In addition, he served as the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Senator and Minister of Defense.

Kwankwaso founded North-West University and Kano University of Science and Technology.
