Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and Chief Judge Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu were joined by U.S. Ambassador Mary Beth Leonard on Tuesday for the launch of a new electronic court scheduling and case management system for the state judiciary.
US Ambassador Leonard made the remarks at a ceremony to launch the electronic system in Abeokuta, where he noted that the US government-supported initiative will reduce delays and case backlogs in Nigeria’s courts.

As a means of promoting efficiency in the allocation of time and resources to court cases, the new case management system was developed. When it comes to Ogun State’s criminal justice system, “we have high hopes,” Ambassador Leonard said at the ceremony attended by senior judicial officers and state legislators, as well as members of the Nigerian Bar Association and members of the Nigerian Civil Society Organization.
For example, Ambassador Leonard highlighted the US Mission and Ogun State Government’s cooperation in law enforcement by supporting the creation of a Corrections Information Management System and a Court Attendance Endorsement Form.
