Vitalii Sapylo and Dmytro Martynenko, two Ukrainian football stars, were killed fighting the Russian invasion.
Sapylo and Martynenko’s deaths were announced by the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) in a tweet on their Twitter handle.
“Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and teammates of Vitalii Sapylo (21) and Dmytro Martynenko (25), football’s first reported casualties in this war,” FIFPRO said.
“May they both rest in peace,” says the narrator.

Meanwhile, Russia and Ukraine have been at odds since last Thursday.
Today marks the eighth day of the war, which has already claimed a large number of lives.
The invasion of Ukraine was ordered by President Putin due to a disagreement over some political issues.
