Trump Breaks Silence on Russia-Ukraine War: ‘Nobody’s Playing Me’

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has denied that Russia is trying to influence his attempts to negotiate an agreement to stop the war in Ukraine.

In an interview with reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, Trump maintained that he is not being played and that his goal is just to assist in ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump remarked, “I have to admit that my entire life has been one big negotiation, and I know when people are and are not playing us.”

To desire to stop it, I need to see a sense of enthusiasm. I believe I see that enthusiasm, too. I believe I have a dual perspective.

“No one is playing me,” I said. My goal is to assist. It’s coming to a head right now, and I believe we have a decent chance of completing the peace agreement.

JD Vance, the vice president of the United States, said Friday that the Trump administration is still hopeful that it will eventually be able to negotiate an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

A related development is that earlier today, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Trump would withdraw from efforts to mediate a peace accord between Russia and Ukraine within a few days unless there are unambiguous signs that a deal is possible.

Ukraine has allegedly accused Russia of purposefully delaying a settlement in order to strengthen its negotiation position, and Ukraine has already consented to a complete temporary truce.
