In the North-East, troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) killed 126 Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants.
On Friday in Maiduguri, the Theatre Command Intelligence Coordinator, Col. Obinna Azuikpe, said this while monitoring the status of operations in the North-East.
In the previous three months, he added, the military had achieved progress against the rebels in continuing clearing operations, adding that “10 men had paid the highest price.”
According to Azuikpe, Operation Desert Sanity forces carried out 9,163 patrols, 5,553 ambushes, and 1,006 clearing operations.
He said that rebel strongholds in Afa, Kara, Abullam, Talala Ajigin, Buk Alagarno, Dole, Alafa, Darusalam, Kuraba, Ukuba, and Camp Zero had been evacuated.
According to him, the military also destroyed rebel bomb labs and a significant cell that had 150 hostages.
