Viktor Gyökeres, a striker for Sporting CP, is scheduled to have his medicals before making a high-profile move to the Emirates as Arsenal’s transfer business heats up.
Renowned transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano claims that all formalities between Sporting and the Gunners have been finished, paving the way for the Swedish forward to take the last steps toward joining Arsenal.
“Viktor Gyökeres, new Arsenal player, as all documents have now been approved and exchanged,” Romano confirmed on X. Formal travel authorization was obtained by Arsenal and Sporting, and medical examinations would begin within the next day. Gyökeres will arrive shortly.
The striker will likely join Mikel Arteta’s team during their preseason tour in Asia, giving a frontline already full of talented attackers more firepower. Gyökeres’ goal-scoring prowess in Portugal is something Arsenal supporters will aim to duplicate in the Premier League.

Alonso has directed the team to keep midfielder Dani Ceballos, who has been linked to a move away, specifically to Real Betis, according to Madrid Zone via Cadena SER.
According to the report, Alonso has requested that no midfield player be sold this summer, and the Los Blancos management has allegedly granted his request.
As he prepares for the 2025–2026 season, Alonso appears determined to keep depth and experience in the middle of midfield, especially with Luka Modric having just left.
Chelsea shifted their focus and stepped away from Isak’s pursuit.
Alexander Isak, a striker for Newcastle, is reportedly no longer a target for Chelsea.
The Swedish forward has made a transfer request and stated that he wants to leave St. James’ Park, but the Blues are focusing on other options.
Through his official 𝕏 page, Fabrizio Romano clarified the matter, saying, “Despite reports, Chelsea is not actively working on the Alexander Isak deal and has no desire in moving forward. #CFC is thrilled with their strikers and is now totally focused on the agreements involving Xavi Simons and Jorrel Hato.
Chelsea’s recruiting squad appears happy with their current attacking configuration and is more interested in bringing in young players, even though Liverpool is still the front-runner in the hunt for Isak.
