According to Hammed, the collision involving a vehicle, tricycle, and nine people happened at approximately 9:55 a.m.
As per An eyewitness told him that a truck heading toward the Toll Gate from Ilo-Awela lost control owing to a failed brake and collided with a tricycle, other cars, and people.
Six fatalities—five male and one female—were reported, and three people suffered serious injuries.
“The victims’ bodies have been moved to Ifo General Hospital’s mortuary, and the survivors are being treated at Ota General Hospital,” he stated.
According to Hammed, TRACE staff and sister organizations are on the ground to handle the situation, and attempts are being made to remove the wreckage—including the truck, the impacted cars, and the tricycle—from the highway.
