Tinubu’s slashing costs of governance raises hope for Nigerians – Accord Party

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday, Mr. Dele Oladeji, the party’s State Chairman, stated as much.

Reducing the number of officials traveling with the president and other high-ranking government officials both domestically and abroad, according to Oladeji, is praiseworthy.

He claims that although the president’s order is long delayed, it will save the economy and offer the general public optimism. The high cost of governance is the main issue the country is currently experiencing.

“It’s a positive development because the number of entourage and estacode costs have decreased. Nigeria must make significant financial savings on pointless activities.

Oladeji stated, “While we support Mr. President on this, we want more to be done to reduce the costs of governance so that the average Nigerian can breathe.”

NAN said that the action was a component of Tinubu’s “massive cost-cutting measures,” as stated by Presidential Spokesperson Mr. Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday.

“Ngelale stated that the president, vice president, and first lady’s offices, as well as the entire federal government structure, are all impacted by the cost-cutting initiative.

The President ordered that local security services be used to guard him anytime he travels to any state under the new strategy, rather than sending a large number of security men from Abuja.

“He added that First Lady Remi Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima should both have the same policy implemented.”According to Tinubu, each minister was only allowed to bring four employees, appointees, and the like on any approved overseas trip.
According to the president’s spokeswoman, chiefs of government agencies would only be allowed to bring two staff members on each given trip going forward.

Giving a more detailed explanation, Mr. Ngelale stated that Tinubu had instructed that no more than 20 people be permitted to travel with him on any foreign trip.

“That number will be cut down to five in the case of the First Lady,” Ngelale stated.

“The vice president’s entourage on official foreign trips will be limited to five members, and the vice president’s wife will only accompany a maximum of five people.”

Mr. Ngelale stated that the President has “approved a new limit of 25 members of staff to accompany him on domestic trips within the country” with regard to local travel.

“On official domestic excursions, the First Lady can only have ten staff members from the Office of the First Lady accompany her.
“On official trips within the nation, the Vice President may only bring 15 staff members, and his spouse may bring up to 10 staff members.”
