Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, claimed that when President Bola Tinubu took over from him last year, the economy was in a coma.

During his Monday constituency briefing and empowerment, Senator Akpabio, who represents the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district, revealed this in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.

He stated that the president was committed to improving the economy and affecting Nigerians’ lives regardless of their party, ethnicity, or religion.
“President Tinubu faced extremely difficult circumstances on the ground, and no one was envious of him. He stated that he was committed to changing the situation, so let’s support him in doing so,” he remarked.

“We are confident that we will ultimately advance the nation. Give him some time, and he will take us to our El Dorado. He has already done it in Lagos and will do it again in Nigeria.

“I want us to be aware that when Tinubu was elected president, Nigeria was on life support. I once asked him if he was thrilled about taking over as president and observing the state of the economy Emefiele left behind. “Well, I’m determined to change the situation,” he said.

Additionally, Akpabio stated that the president has impacted the lives of numerous people through constituency initiatives nationwide, and that the regional commissions established nationwide were designed to promote regional development and people’s empowerment.

He added that President Tinubu has demonstrated his love for the South East by giving them a key ministry, the Ministry of Works, and by enacting legislation establishing the South East Development Commission. He also stated that all other regional development commissions would soon be signed.

“The president has shown love for the South East by signing the South East Development Commission into an act of parliament and allocating important ministries based on NEEDS rather than votes,” he stated. Like the South South, the South East has many ecological issues and extremely bad roads. The president chooses to give us the Ministry of Works in addition to other important ministries, like the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas.All the way from Utapete to Ibeno, Akwa Ibom is sitting on gas. Above all, the president gave our state the chance to produce the Senate President, the No. 3 Citizen; this was not the case since 1979. We should give President Tinubu our full backing.

Items like rice bags, automobile fleets, generator sets, deep freezers, tractors, tricycle vans, and minibuses were all supplied by Akpabio. Among other things, 2000 undergraduate students received cash transfers of two hundred thousand naira, motorcycles, sewing machines, and makeup kits.

He claimed that the president had approved the gesture as a way to express gratitude to the populace for their support and votes.

He commended Governor Umo Eno for his calm manner and promised to repay the governor by his kindness at Christmas, when he sent 1,000 bags of rice to the state’s APC.

He said that he ordered 1,500 bags of rice to be delivered to the PDP right once, and that the party’s chairman would then distribute the supplies to the party’s members.

“I want to thank His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State. Without peace, development cannot occur. The governor has chosen to welcome all Akwa Ibom people regardless of political affiliation, even during Christmas. As a result, he sent 1000 bags of rice to the state’s APC. As a result, I ask the PDP chairman to step up and take 1500 bags of rice for his members.

Every local government is being impacted; they will get Keke Napep, a generating set, deep freezers to keep their fish and other items, a tricycle for people bringing palm produce from the countryside, sewing machines, makeup kits, etc. for individuals in the fashion industry. Make good use of your stuff for the beneficiaries. “Oh,” he said.
